Darth Vader's name

I know Darth Vader means "Dark Father" (NO not a spoiler from EP3, but from Interviews)

Vader= Father, but what Language did GL use it from?

 

Latin, I think.

i always thought it was dutch. or should i say, deutsch?

 

Vader comes from the Dutch name for Father.

 

Dutch and Deutsch aren't the same. Deustch is another name for German. Dutch is a whole other language.

 

I was in impression that Vader means invader.
