Can't be a narc if he's the host making the rules.

Isn't that exactly what a narc is, someone in charge? A cop?

I thought narc was slang for snitch/tattle-tale?

Yeah, a narc is a narcotics agent or informant

    A. because the bittersweet definition itself would be "arousing pleasure tinged with sadness or pain", and I'm not sure how many deaths are really arousing pleasure tinged with sadness and
    B. the explanation of "someone 80+ (open to debate, I suppose) who clearly has had a good run at it, but nonetheless, it's a sad thing (i.e.: Vin Scully)" doesn't really match that, and feels really generic and rewarding picking people most likely to die, which is sorta counter to every other bonus. It'd be like if there was an 'unbirthday' bonus for someone not dying that was worth more than if the rare event of them dying on their birthday.
I don't really see who's been picked that isn't some sort of a villain that *wouldn't* arguably qualify for this.

Yup, it's in the definition that shows up from Oxford Languages when googling

Tony Bennett would be an example of this. I'll be sad when he passes, but it's also sad that he is suffering from severe dementia. Alex Trebek would be another example that was bittersweet- he fought his cancer diagnosis bravely and publicly, but he was in a lot of pain and towards the end, you could even tell by his voice and that he was hurting which his family and Jeopardy staff later confirmed.

Point is, there can be some bittersweet deaths. Most likely have to do with a person suffering from an ailment who is no longer suffering even though they left an indelible mark on the world and we're worse off without them (Stephen Hawking as another example.)

Even Betty White- we're sad she died at 99 and didn't make it to 100. But, many also hope that she is reunited finally with her husband.

Betty White was 100 in the Korean age system. So in Korea she lived to be 100

Of course in this system I'm also 36 right now, so ew

I’ll happily adhere to any age system where I am 36 again. :D

Lol well you go up in age in Korea. There you are the number of years you've experienced years old. So I experienced 1987 onward, and it's 2022 now, so I'm 36.

It makes you one to two years older Ethan your international age unless you've already had your actual birthday that year. Then its just one.

I'd imagine some picks on a lot of people's lists are in that vein.

Interesting. I figured that’s what you meant as I understand China has a similar age system, I’m just one of those people who keeps saying I’m 39 every year. :D

What I'm saying, though, is that bonuses should line up with things that are, in some capacity, less common. More likely to die on not your birthday than your birthday, two people are less likely to die on the same day than different days, there's fewer people that die and it's a big deal than die and aren't.

Theoretically, the trade-off for picking more likely deaths should be fewer points. It's why the small spots in the corner are worth most in skeeball

I’ll consider making that multiplier count less, then.

Face it, Betty White is a Centenarian fail. Stop trying to game the system. America should have had a system in place where they wire her with electrodes and limp her powdery old bones past the 100 year mark.

Just another example of Uncle Sam asleep at the wheel.

Look just because it works for the Queen doesn’t mean it’ll work for everyone.
