SF (and Star Wars) author Greg Bear. He died of a stroke following a heart attack. There's a thread going over in the Lit forum.

 

Sad day.

 

That's horribly sad.

 

It's official, seemingly by suicide.

Oh man, that's sad. I loved the white ranger as a kid.

 

Green Ranger was awesome.
JDF was a regular on the convention circuit, much loved by the fandom.

Gave a lot of credibility & legitimacy to the franchise as he was a trained martial artist.

 

Ugh! Another childhood icon gone. Like Kevin Conroy, I had the chance to meet him a few years back. He was another who loved his fans and spent extra time with them. I had him sign a green ranger action figure- he was so excited because it was the first time he had seen that one that he took a photo for his social media. The best though was watching him interact with kids.

So sad.

 

Damn. Batman and Tommy Oliver in the same week.

 

And it sucks.

 

Super sad to hear about Jason David Frank. He was still attending comic cons. I saw him in person at the Philly Comic Con, but never got to meet him. I was really hoping to see him get a resurgence in his career later in life. It's a shame to lose him.

Ah, very sad to hear. It's a book that's come in for a lot of hate over the years, but Rogue Planet is genuinely one of my favorite EU novels ever. It just dared to be different.

 

Wilko Johnson's gone , which is a helluva shock since he's not supposed to die.

 

Living for 9 years after getting a terminal cancer diagnosis is pretty good - even if the diagnosis later turned out to be wrong. Sounds like he had a full life..

 

Awwww, dang it. Though, he was looking rough when he dropped the puck for the Leafs a few weeks ago

 

Ugh just had a family friend die of ALS. Sucks man.

I've always loved "What a Feeling". One of my favorite songs to dance along with while playing Just Dance. Did that a whole lot during the pandemic. Brought my enjoyment of the song into the 2020s.

 

I loathe the movie Fame, but the titular song is excellent.
