Dear Diary,

This Diary belongs to the one and only Cambria Reyes. A sassy single thirty-something blue eyed brunette with a biological clock that is ticking louder and louder each year like a thermal detonator. Yeah?that?s me.

Speaking of that clock, the resident bar stool psychologist has suggested that I start a diary as a way to find myself before that said clock goes off for good.

I told him I?m not lost?just floundering a little in life?s stormy waters. He may have a point though since my compass hasn?t been working for years.

My friend, his name is Lenny, says I suffer from a terrible affliction called P.T.R.S. Which translates into Post Traumatic Relationship Syndrome. I just call it D.O.S or Dumped On Syndrome.

I guess he may be right to some degree since I have not had a decent date in ten years, but I think a girl should have some time to lick her wounds sufficiently before jumping back into battle.

It all started when my academy sweetheart from back home on Chandrila joined the military as a X-wing mechanic and shipped off to parts unknown. He would send me these passionate love letters that would curl my toes professing his undying love. Then one day I received that dreaded comm. He?d been injured in battle. I hurried to my brave hero only to find him in a lip lock with his nurse at the bedside. I wanted to stuff him out an airlock. But after hearing the tramp?s annoying high-pitched snort, I decided he would soon be tortured enough.

After that fiasco, I cut the lifeline to home saying goodbye to Mom & Dad. I made my pilgrimage to New Coruscant arriving with little goods or credits to my name. I applied to the Cooking Institute upon arrival thinking it would be easy to get into, but without impeccable references and a sponsor that dream faded quickly.

That?s when I met Lenny. He befriended me when I was at my lowest and has been there ever since steering me up to greatness or at least out of the gutter. Lenny started a nice little restaurant called 'Lenny?s Diner' located between the new Jedi Temple and the park just after Coruscant was rebuilt. His grandfather was Dexter Jettster who owned the famous 'Dex?s Diner' in CoCo Town during the Clone Wars. I started out as a waitress and now I?m Lenny?s equal partner, but I?m still the better cook.

The diner?s 10th Anniversary is in two weeks. Lenny has challenged me to bring a real date to this shindig. He knows I love a challenge, but where to start?

I?m late for work as usual. Will have to think about this later.

OMG I almost just choked on a brownie that was so funy.

I'm looking forward to reading more about Cambria and her trek for love.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed her knight in shining armor will be a certain Jedi Master. Cause I know he's yours and he's definitely mine.

 

Great OC. At first I thought she was going to be a bit on the Mary Sue side - the starting comment about finding a knight in shining armor but you definitely have her as a very real and slightly off character. Nicely done and this diary really has potential.
