My Beyond Light refund was processed within 2 hrs. I wonder if this happens with Gamepass games all the time.

I’ll probably have to re-DL it later, so hopefully play tomorrow night.

 

Or if you just jump to orbit after the mission starts, which is what I did to wait around for my bro to get in.

Nope.

This was an amazing opening mission - everything just worked near-flawlessly in this perfect narriage of gameplay, level design and aesthetics and narrative.

Oh and I now know what 'Prison of Elders escapees' refers to, having bagged a good few of them in open roam and lost sectors.

Would this opening epic for Forsaken have worked without having played The Red War? Yes, it would have but the latter really boosts the former due to how well it introduces all the characters.

Finally, it's a masterclass in how to do a character exit. Cayde gets one hell of a finale.

 

I think it's the best mission they've ever done.

Did you notice that it was a different voice actor for Cayde? They had to get Nolan North to do it as Nathan Fillion was double booked. It's a shame he wasn't able to do the character's farewell, but I thought North did a brilliant job.

 

I didn't notice the voice change.

 

North is the actor who plays your Ghost too, which just shows his range that you didn't notice.

 

Well, probably true, but my hearing / info processing is pretty whacked so I likely wouldn't notice even if he sounded the same.

Done 4 bounties so far, 1 in the EDZ, 3 on Nessus - have explored the Tangled Shore a bit, shot an awful lot of enemies - oh and got a new, sweet Auto Rifle.

Finding that the loadout of two guns, one sword really works. Oh, bounty target is being aggressive? Wants to get close? Fine - cue sword, cue one slice-up!

 

Swords are really great in this Meta.

 

Not sure if anyone here plays titan but whaaaat is this new melee? I thought my juggernaut super melee was bad at hit detection. With this it sometime feels like my character is going out of the way to miss a target. Not to mention anything that is not on the ground, like a run of the mill shank, simply rolls off it. Awful.

 

Yeah I play Titan and wow, I keep missing but also I keep throwing myself off the edge of cliffs.

 

Is this part of Beyond Light? Have noticed my Melee is weaker now but still hits hard.

 

It is the darkness melee charge. I also wish if it is going to consume it when used even when it does not hit that it would just use it instead of normal melee when enemies are close because I don't know how far away I need to be and I constantly end up just punching them instead.

 

Ehhh so i started up for a few hours. How do i figure out what the next Shadowkeep quest is and what is the best way to lvl the season pass? I kind of stopped when passes came out.

Also got handed my booty in a strike. Is there a good plvl farm atm?

 

So with Deep Stone Crypt over, there are now new events and stuff in Beyond Light. Oh and a space station crashed into Europa. Awesome.

But can we talk about the recent massive Clovis Bray lore reveal? Namely that

I was watching Myelin's stream (six Aussies getting progressively more drunk with a teapot of mojitos) and it was some of the funniest **** I've seen in ages. The raid looks really good. A bit more puzzle heavy than I'd prefer, but YMMV. I'm really glad they've done the Last Wish thing of the raid being beat and it affecting the rest of the game in some way.

Yeah, I had no idea. Talk about left-field! The lore for this expansion has been amazing. The Dark Future lore book in particular is excellent.

 

Yesss the Dark Future lore is amazing.

 

It's glorified fan fiction, but I love it nonetheless.

So I spent a ton of resources to get Izanagi's Burden. Holy hell what a sniper. Leaving aside the charged super shot it's just a solid, reliable gun. Can't see me taking it off tbh.
