    Entry 28

Ghari Adin had left early this morning to collect supplies at the harbourtown and will return in a week.

Master Ere-Dun was preparing to leave and was saddling his husan.

I went to him and as we were saying goodbye a yell was heard from Kaagi.

We rushed back into the house and we saw Kaagi supporting an old man and guiding him to the examination-table.

I examined the man. He had broken his leg and the wound had become infected during the ride to Ghari?s place.

Kaagi gave him local anesthesia and we could set the shinbone.

We put him in one of the med-room beds.

I said he had to stay in the med-room for at least four weeks and after I prepared a hypo to inject him with an antibiotic he muttered ?I hate needles and being at the healers. Brr they have ?cold? hands that poke and prod at you.?

Where did I hear that more?

I examined our patient further. He had ginger hair streaked with grey and when I saw his eyes I was startled. They were the same cerulean-blue as the eyes of my friend Obi-Wan.

I found out he was Force-sensitive and I asked him where he did come from.

He said he was Kor-Ben Kenobi and he owned a small farm a few days ride from here. He had visited Ghari Adin many times in the past for treating him for injuries but he had an intense dislike of healers.
Ghari had named him a healer?s disaster just like the rest of his family. And as I was examining his facial features the likeness between him and Obi-Wan was unmistakable.

Kor-Ben said that his younger brother and sister lived still on Moniron and on this continent.

I told him the story of my rescue by the Dunai elder.

Kor-Ben is about as bad as my friend Obi-Wan Kenobi, muttering and complaining about us healers. Ghari is right when he told me of the Kenobi?s being healers-disasters: complaining and bored after one day.

To relieve him of his boredom I told him many stories of the Jedi.

I told him of the Jedi who had found Obi-Wan.

Qui-Gon Jinn had been on a short mission to Malastare when he found a woman near death who had given birth to a boy. She asked him before she died to take care of the child and that his name was Ben Kenobi. A key was hanging around his neck.

I examined the child when he came to the Jeditemple and Qui-Gon told me he had a strong Force-presence.
Master Yoda told me that this child would become important. His name was changed into Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Kor-Ben said ?Keiran was my daughter and when she was 29 she went away to study at the capital on Aarga. I gave her a key for the summer-cabin and I have never seen her again. Obi-Wan must be my grandson.?

I showed him a picture of Obi-Wan and with tears in his eyes Kor-Ben said ?I am a granddad of two boys.?

Picture Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan in the garden of a thousand fountains

Kor-Ben said he had another daughter who went to Aarga and she married a farmer. She went away after living for 10 years on Moniron with her husband and only son. It was a time of a great draught and many farmers left.

Kor-Ben said he had one son Bento who went to live on Malastare with his human wife, who was a well-known artist on that planet.

The key became Obi-Wan?s first personal belonging that went into a large trunk.

Jedi don?t have many personal belongings but a few things giving memories are kept.

Kor-Ben asked me if Obi-Wan was still alive.

I told him that the Jedi were exterminated but that Obi-Wan must be still alive somewhere because of the feeling I got when I visited master Eled-Hir.

Sure Obi-Wan is alive and Qui-Gon is teaching him.

    Entry 30

Ere-Dun will leave tomorrow and Ghari Adin came back with his supplies.

It is one week since Kor-Ben came to the healers and last night I had strange dreams.
I am wondering ?are they dreams??

A voice sounding exactly like Qui-Gon Jinn is telling me to keep faith in the future.
He wants to become my teacher and when he began to tell me his story I knew for sure that they were not dreams and listened to him.

He has discovered something a long time ago in the archives of the Jeditemple. He began to tell me: ?I was on an assignment for Jocasta Nu to the archives and Obi-Wan was assisting me with moving artworks. I found an old leatherbound book and it was the teaching of the Whills. It was that day when Obi-Wan was injured when he went to the shopping mall with Siri.?

I still remember that day and the days afterwards. Enga and Shika Diir contacting me after the surgery and were saying that Qui-Gon should stay in Obi-Wan?s room. Shika Diir had already assigned room number 9 to them and of course I agreed. Obi-Wan would need all the help he could get. He recovered and went with his master and Kaagi and Benno Perion to Lingala.

During that trip Yoda contacted me and said that Shh-kir had become one with the Force.

Qui-Gon had sensed my thoughts and said ?Yoda contacted me too and the teachings of the Whills became more interesting to me. I had been studying them for some time and Shh-kir had given me some copies of the texts. I have been teaching Obi-Wan and Yoda for seven years now.?

I told Kaagi about my ?meeting? with Qui-Gon and Kaagi told me that Qui-Gon had contacted him too. Kaagi said that a book about the teaching of the Whills was in Eled-Hir?s place.

So nice for Qui-Gon to contact them.
And trust Obi-Wan to get injured so Qui-Gon can read the Whills.

    Entry 31

I have obtained a copy of the book of the Whills. Eled-Hir sent it to our comstation.

Qui-Gon is teaching me more about the Whills.

About compassion being the key to merge with the Force and still retain a link with the world. He knew it when he died on Naboo and could comfort his apprentice who became a knight and master so soon.

Kaagi came in and greeted Qui-Gon. He said ?Kor-Ben Kenobi is as bad as his grandson. Now he is complaining about being stuck to that bed. I will get a wheelchair for him so that he can move around in the house.?

Qui-Gon smiled when I told him more of the habits of Kor-Ben. So like his padawan, so like himself.

    ---
    Obi-Wan and husans

This day we went for a ride and Kaagi taught me many months ago to ride my husan without bridle and saddle.

Kaagi had told me of Obi-Wan doing it on Lingala and I remembered that dream of Obi-Wan when he was injured preventing a disaster in a shopping mall and I had to guide him out of the anesthesia. He was riding a snow white husan and I told him to go home.

When he was recovering he was decorated by the district-chief of the firedepartment. And the two medics who treated him became firechiefs of the Jeditemple.

A few days after he could leave the healer?s ward he met the firefighters after a fire in the restaurant caused by Serinka and his pancakes.
One of them was Dylan Henny and the brother of Tad Henny who was our firechief.

Dylan had made an arrangement with Qui-Gon and Benno Perion to go on a trip to Lingala.
The shopping mall incident was solved and Obi-Wan met the Lingalans and rode a husan with his friends.

Tad Henny went to Lingala a short time before I left the Jeditemple.

Qui-Gon visited me again this evening and told me more about that adventure and said that Obi-Wan had met Falgans on Moniron.

He had seen them when he went to his cottage on Aarga after Siri died on Azure. Falgans are like Lingalans and I have asked Ghari Adin about them.

Ghari told me that they are wellknown. When we have some time off we could go for a holiday to the beach.

thanks for reading and next post is about Qui-Gon. It mentions my other fics Younglings, one for the picture challengeand bonds of the Jedi

    Entry 32

Qui-Gon told me that Obi-Wan is recovered again from that attack by the Tusken raider. This time no infections bothered him and I remembered that day after the battle of Geonosis.

Obi-Wan had been home for a week in the temple and he had persuaded Luminara Unduli to release him from the healer?s. He hadn?t been to the usual healer?s ward and me but he went to the temporary ward in the ?old folk?s home?. Anakin had been staying there and Obi-Wan had given Anakin permission to escort Padme to Naboo.

I told Qui-Gon of the hurt I felt and I went to get Obi-Wan to the healer?s ward. His legwound had become infected again and Kaagi removed a little chip of his thighbone and we cleaned both wounds thoroughly. I stayed with him when he slept and was having a bad dream and on second thought: that dream has become true. Stormtroopers are wearing masks and Darth Vader is a masked black being. I gave him light Templeduty afterwards and he began his teachings of younglings. Yoda was very pleased to have his help.

Qui-Gon told me that the bond between Obi-Wan and me would become stronger.

    ---x--

This day it is twenty years ago that Qui-Gon Jinn became one with the Force.

    I remember him.

    Qui-Gon

I met him when he was an initiate.

He became friends with Mace Windu and Benno Perion.

As initiates they were the cause of a lot of funny things happening in the temple.

Riding the banister was one example and it landed them in the healer?s ward where I had to treat them. That was when they landed on an unsuspecting archivist coming to the vault and carrying a large load of datadisks. Archive-disasters indeed, just like Obi-Wan when he managed to crash the entire archive-computer.

Snowball fights, waterfights, pillowfights, you name them, they did it.

He became a padawan of Yoda until Yoda decided to become a crèche master and teach initiates once more.

Count Dooku was his second master and chose him at 10 years of age after a lightsaberfight.

Count Dooku was a stern teacher and he learned the old ways of lightsaber-combat.

He had no love for the animals Qui-Gon seemed to find everywhere.

Qui-Gon often came to me holding an injured cat or bird and asked me to treat them.

From these living helpless creatures he learned compassion, not from his master.

He became a knight at a young age.

    ---x--

As I was writing this in my diary, Ghari Adin entered the livingroom pushing a wheelchair with Kor-Ben in it.

I told Ghari Adin and Kor-Ben of the apprentices of Qui-Gon.

Of Xanatos and how he turned leaving Qui-Gon a devastated man who was saved by Obi-Wan who taught him to be happy again, to be a father for his apprentice.

nice replies and next Aaqu remembers Obi-Wan

    Entry 33

It is six weeks since Kor-Ben came to Ghari?s place and I have removed the splint from Kor-Ben?s leg.

Master Kaagi is helping Kor-Ben to walk properly again.

Kor-Ben came hobbling into the garden and took a seat next to me.

I told him of some of my adventures with Obi-Wan.

Aranella had made a pot of tea and chocolate chip cookies and she, Kaagi and Ghari joined us and listened to the stories.

Obi-Wan and his friendship with a husan.
Obi-Wan helping me when I was sick

Obi-Wan trying to cheer up Mace Windu with his gift of a smiley. Kor-Ben smiled when I told him those stories
Obi-Wan helping Kaagi Adin to walk again.

Obi-Wan saving a four year old who was suffering from leukemia by a donation.
Obi-Wan with Anakin, Benno Perion, Kaagi and me on Ganaris.

Obi-Wan after the battle of Geonosis under my care and after that teaching younglings.
Obi-Wan dreaming of a snow white husan

    Obi-Wan and Nephril and Nauran

Master Fay saving Obi-Wan and through that sacrifice saving millions.

The Smiley?s war between Obi-Wan and Mace Windu which lasted until Obi-Wan gave them away after his recovery from that Force poison. That had put me through an ordeal keeping Obi-Wan connected to the world by guiding his thoughts for days. Many of his friends helped him.

When I was finished, Kaagi produced a deck of cards and said ?Let?s play the game Obi-wan was so fond of.?

That afternoon and evening we played Knights and Aces with chocolate chip cookies made by Aranella as betting chips and Kor-Ben won the last game like his grandson, by bluffing.

    Entry 34

Kor-Ben was recovering well and I told him he could leave our care tomorrow
He asked me to tell him about the padawan of his grandson.

I told him of Anakin?s life before he became Darth Vader.

Anakin was the first padawan of my friend Obi-Wan. He was rescued by Qui-Gon Jinn from a slavers life on Tatooine.

He was headstrong but an eager student.

He loved droids and all things mechanical. He repaired the medical droids for me and made them work even more efficient.

He knew more that the others of his age.

He was a reckless but good pilot giving Obi-Wan often a green complexion when he was driving.

He was a prankster and no one escaped his pranks.

He was friends with the supreme chancellor Palpatine.

After the Geonosis-disaster he came back changed.
I helped him using the prosthesis that replaced his right arm.
He was withdrawn and had strong shields in place when I asked him about Geonosis.

He was a hero with no fear in the eyes of the public.

He was like a young kid-brother of Obi-Wan.

When Kor-Ben left I gave him an oil-painting by me of his grandson
    obi-wan

Kaagi came with a pleasant surprise and told me Aranella was pregnant.

    Entry 35

This day Kor-Ben came for his check-up of his leg and he was carrying a box from the back-seat from his speeder to the house. It was a container with some faint markings in aurebesh on it and I could decipher the name Ebon Hawk.

Kor-Ben explained that this box had been in the possession of his family for millennia. The Ebon Hawk had crashed after fleeing from pirates on Moniron. He said ?the two occupants were saved by Elenion Ken-Obi.?

I told him that one of my ancestors was from the Ebon Hawk namely Marhin Aaquila who married a Dunai elder thus beginning the clan of the Maerhin?s.

Kor-Ben?s eyes lighted up when I told this and he said he was a descendant from Marhin Aaquila too. I showed him the history-books and Kor-Ben told me more of his family.

The housekeeper of the Kenobi?s was Haakon and he was related to Atton Rand. Kor-Ben had seen him last time when his other daughter, son and husband had left Moniron. He had returned to Aarga and said he would care for the house of the Kenobi-daughters.

I remembered Obi-Wan telling me of his meeting with Haakon. Obi-Wan had gone to the house on Aarga to take a few days of rest after the death of Siri on Azure.

Yes, Siri and Obi-Wan they had been the best of friends, bickering and bantering but that was their way of expressing their great love for each other.
