Did Obi-Wan ever actually dine at Dex's Diner?

In ATTACK OF THE CLONES, Obi-Wan Kenobi visited Dex's Diner to see if Dex could help him identify the weapon (Kamino Saber Dart) that Jango Fett had used to kill Zam Wessel. Do you think that Obi-Wan actually ever had breakfast, lunch, or dinner at Dex's on less busy days? Just went there for the chow and to socialize casually with Dex?

 

When he wasn't too busy, I think he very probably did. I like to think that when Anakin was first taken to Coruscant, after the Battle of Naboo, in order to make him feel more relaxed, Obi-Wan took him to see Dex, and they had a spot of lunch there. Of course, that has nothing to do with the thread, but I think it's a nice idea!

 

Yeah he probably did when he had the time. They are friends after all, and if I had a friend who owned a diner, I'd eat there as often as possible...

 

Well, the waitress did know that he likes jawa juice, so I'd assume that he came there fairly often.

Wasn't there a comic in which Mace and Yoda were eating in a "Dex's Diner" type restaurant which spoofed Pulp Fiction?

 

Yes there was, but I think the restaurant was actually supposed to be one of those "Big Boy" burger places seen in Austin Powers.

I'm sure he went there to eat when he wasn't off doing something for the council to see Dex. But probably not to often otherwise Dex's greeting would probably have been more casual

 

I think that Obi-Wan went there once and a while, but not too often. I'm assuming it had been a while since Obi-Wan had been there, unless Dex cares enough about every customer that he wants to personally thank them for coming by giving them a hug.

According to the AOTC Visual Dictionary, Obi-Wan would eat there when the Jedi Temple served some particularly nasty dishes--kinda like college students eating at Dennys when the cafeteria doesn't look too hot.

Imagine the late-night study sessions w/ a bunch of young Jedi & Dex keeping the coffee flowing. And I kinda think Obi-Wan tried to "bag" Hermonie Bagwa (the blonde waitress) once or twice...

 

I'm sure he has but judging by Dex's reaction not in a longo time.

 

I like to think that they had been friends a long time ago, and now due to Obi-Wan becoming busier and busier as he becomes a more prominent Jedi, he has less time to eat there.

That would explain why Dex is so glad to see him, since it had been quite a while since their last meeting.

Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan helped Dex out in the Jedi Apprentice books, and he dines there in the Jedi Quest books.

They helped Dex? Are you talking about the one with that bounty hunter that takes Qui Gon? That wasnt Dex was it? I don't think it is.

 

I dont know if this answers your question but in the game "The New Droid Army" for GBA, Anakin meets Dex in the lower levels of Courascant(right spelling?) and Dex tells him about info on a dark jedi. Then after that he tells Anakin to tell Obi-wan to visit the diner soon.
