    George Lucas did the kyber is force sensetive in the lcone wars youngling arc, and I think it's the kyber of the saber that is reaching out to Rey. Kyber crystals seems to be highly intuned to the force.

    But if you applied that to every single film (or any other media) then there would be no lines of delineation between, for example, The Dark Knight and Suicide Squad, The Exorcist and Fantasy Island. Or Toy Story and The Emoji Movie. There's an argument to be had around the belief that 'everything is art and art is everything'... but in this case I don't think it's applicable.
