http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/brawl-mall-teens-injured-multiple-fights-n275431 I am disturbed by the video, not from the fights but shortly in you notice a large large group of kids with their phones up recording it all. They are doing nothing to stop it. Yet as a group they could have stopped it. Instead they are inciting it. Sure the old days you had a circle of kids and chanting but now its different with camera phones. Have we as a society stopped caring about others and instead cared about watching violence wherever we can get it? Is it a badge of honor to be the first to post the fight on your facebook account or share it with friends?
Yeah, that's sad. I've seen a video of a girl getting beaten up by two guys, and people were just standing there, filming it. Idiocy from multiple angles.
Police have a habit of arresting those trying to break up the situation, as well as the original miscreants, so that plays into any decision.
I must confess, I misread the thread title as "Disturbing video shot on a plane" and came in here expecting:
Here's my question though, if they were teens and of course underage wouldn't filming them be considered immoral? We make it a crime for someone to share a video of child porn. But how many kids are being forced against their will or assaulted? Assault, granted its sexual assault by why not as a society make it illegal to share any videos of children being assaulted? Physically or sexually, to protect the victims for the future. Getting brutally beaten up can make someone have the same psychological problems as sexual assault.
Ok, maybe I overstepped a bit but let's face it. If a school wants to eliminate the damage caused by somebody filming a fight they should treat it close to what they do about sexual assault. It should be banned and made illegal. You can't tell me that filming a fight doesn't encourage the aggressor. How would you feel if your child was assaulted in school and then the video was passed around? You can't say its nothing. Its humiliating to them.
Is it a coincidence that it happened at the mall where the original Dawn of the Dead was filmed? I think not.
