http://www.starwars.com/news/the-do...ongoing-series-coming-this-december-exclusive No surprise whatsoever, but it's official: Dr. Aphra is the new ongoing replacing Vader! Wookiee fans rejoice, Black Krrsantan is going to be one of the main characters A bit of info on the story (full interview in the link above):
Oh boy. Skip to 1:02 (warning, kind of spoiler-ish for the series) . They say some about her and the series. We all saw it comin' that they'd have a series like this. I wonder what about her they will explore though--aside from what was mentioned in the video. I believe it's going to be great.
I guess there is no way of spoiler tagging entire threads. I haven't read DV #25 yet but now I know she lives Aah whatever, I'm happy.
So we'll not only follow Aphra after she escaped Vader, but we also learn a bit about her past. Just like I imagined it. This is a dream come true! And since we're getting archaeology stuff, there's also hope we'll find out more about the history of the galaxy. Any worldbuilding to expand the GFFA is good.
I guess most of us guessed it right. Not really a surprise but still good to see a confirmation and I love the cover.
I didn't care much for having Aphra alongside Vader, but I am looking forward to this. I didn't think Vader would put up with someone so snarky but I think she'll have a chance to shine in her own series. Don't care for the murder droids, but if they do get more serious and less jokey that will probably make me happy. Surprisingly positive about this news, actually.
I'm not really convinced the characer works on her own, but the idea of the droids being a problem is a good one. You can rely on Giillen to come up with some warped ideas too.
I flipped a coin, if you can believe it. Thanks, Lady Luck. [/joke] I'd like to thank my family, my wife, the Academy...
Awesome news! This is a very exciting development and the new EU has created some terrific new characters like Aphra.
Really cool news. Aphra is a fantastic character. Glad to see Marvel giving new characters/non movie characters a shot at their own series.
Yes!! Doctor Aphra!! And I'm not sure, though it probably is the case, but this is the first Star Wars, anything as far as I know, to star a gay character. <3 Oh I so hope Sana shows up at some point.
Not only does the wonderful Aphra get her own series... I just realized it was ongoing. I feel kinda dumb for not realizing this sooner, but yaaay! I am so happy they actually decided to give a new, EU, non-movie character an ongoing. This gives me hope that more original EU characters will get their own series. Gotta start with the best I guess, though.
