I laughed when the Tenth Doctor put on the gas mask and asked that to the U.N.I.T. officer in Poison Sky.

I'd add Midnight, The Waters of Mars, Revelation of the Daleks, Inferno, and The Deadly Asssasin, they all have very bleak, creepy tones :)

The scariest Who for me was The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances.

However, the Doctor Who episodes I consider to rewatch for Halloween because I feel they have an appropriate spooky atmosphere are all from Classic Who:
The Daemons (devil worship, general paganism)
The Brain of Morbius (very Frankenstein territory, what with the castle, the monster, the lightning etc.)
    State of Decay (vampires, castle)
Image of the Fendahl (cults & paganism & skulls & psychic power)

Edit: and @Kenneth Morgan 's post reminded me that Horror of Fang Rock is a good one, too.

Midnight's huis clos would be the one episode I thought dipped truly into horror (psychological horror), but I'm not sure I would call even that one scary.

I am incredibly fond of Mummy On The Orient Express. Unrelated to the monster element, the speech about sometimes only having bad choices but still having to choose is one of my favorite modern Who moments.

There is an effective amount of dread in the abandoned Tube in Web of Fear.

And definitely Horror of Fang Rock and State of Decay.

Starting next Thursday, there's going to be a Doctor Who marathon on BBC America, leading up to the season premiere on Sunday.

On Saturday morning (in the U.S.), BBC America will air the animated reconstruction of the Evil of the Daleks serial. Unfortunately, I have to work during that time, so I'll miss it.

Edit: When I tried linking the Saturday schedule page, it showed different shows and programs. Just search for October 30 on the BBC America page and it will show the Doctor Who schedule.

I'm going to try to rewatch Seasons 11 and 12 in preparation for Flux.

First two: so far so good! I enjoy the characters well enough as established here. Already there's some Timeless Child setup, which I forgot about but I like how new it all is. I was obviously kind of frustrated about how they weren't relying on any of the classic monsters for the first series of Chibnall's run but knowing what's coming makes me appreciate it. I think it's further on when the show suffers a bit but The Woman Who Fell to Earth and The Ghost Monument are a solid start to the season.

If the Daleks could sing Christmas carols:

"Jingle Bells, Doctor smells, Cybermen laid an egg.
Whomobile lost a wheel and the Daleks got away."

"Dashing through Skaro, gliding towards the Thal.
Over the hills they go, exterminating them all."

Well, that's what they would sing. :p

I had ordered The Dominators on DVD and it arrived today. Although there are certainly better classic who serials, I quite like this one as Troughton is good in it, adding his trademark slapstick, the two tall lead Dominators bickering is hilarious, and the Quarks meant to replace the Daleks are adorable funny designs. Haha when Jaime starts blowing them up with the Doctor's bomb concoction as they chirping away.

The Dulcian cast does well too and I enjoyed the Dominator's spaceship and the shots in the quarry are pretty cool; kinda reminds of The Outer Limits.

This is a fun story, not the best, but I'm grateful to have another complete Troughton serial in my collection.

Hey, saw a commercial for the new game The Edge of Reality -- has anyone played it? Any good?

It's identical to the VR game, with a few added bits. Not played the new version yet, but given it's supposed to be VR, I expect it will be lacking in 2D.

I feel like rewatching The Five Doctors as it arrived on DVD today. It was fun seeing most of it the other day on pluto tv.

Not counting the episodes on the Lost In Time set, I've now got 58 Classic Who serials on DVD and blu ray. That's a pretty good start it seems and I've so enjoyed watching about half of them so far. My progress is slower as I sometimes rewatch serials instead and then there are the 6 Series and counting of NuWho that's kept me entertained. I'm on S7, E8 for Matt Smith.

Are there 129 Classic Who Serials?
Does that include missing and incomplete ones? Thought I had heard or read 129 as the total.

Actually over 155, and that's including the Trial of the Time Lord as one serial instead of a collection of different serials that combine into one story.
