I'm sorry , but in my humble opinion , screaming like an oik into a microphone just makes you look like an idiot ... you want decent industrial style Rock ? Nine Inch Nails have been doing well ... and Filter are the best . Also take a spin in the stabbing westward musical machine .. they're damn good .

 

Slipknot are brilliant - regardless of their masks. They're not The Tweenies ya know!

You should check out the latest album. It's just amazing.... but I still like Coldplay!

AFI - are you into hardcore stuff? Or is it mainly thrash?

Screaming like an oik? And what, pray, might that be? If you want heavy metal you have to have agressive lyrics. Slipknot take that to another level. And it's not like they are the first band to scream like and 'oik'. If you bothered to listen to their CD properly you might notice how their songs are structured to a much better quality than the majority of crap out there.

 

Yes I like Some hardcore stuff. AFI can be considered hardcore can't they?
Mainly thrash and extreme metal though.

Try listening to Hybrid AFI ... you can't make a call like that . Your dismissing a genre plainly because its not what you like . Sure I'm a rock fan , but I like some dance stuff .

BTW Arun , you ever hear a track by Aczess , feat. Stella brown ? Its called 'Do what we would' . It uses a sample from Bowies 'Let's Dance' ... bloody amazing .

 

I'll admit to appreciating and respecting Dance musioc when other people appreciate and respec the fact hat other people might enjoy bands such as slipknot.

 

Hello , AFI , i'm a rock fan ... from such giants as Iron maiden , to Nine Inch Nails ... i'm a fan of the Genre that Slipknot lie within .. and i'm telling ... they suck . And yes , they are commercialised . You think the masks are for fun ... let me tell you a trade secret ... marketing .

I'm not going into the complex compostion layers of so called dance crap..but when you hear people like Steve Riech or Stockhausen or any modern classic composer who uses a computer and Logic..you will understand that although electronic produced music may be a little tasteless to the metal conossieur...it actually takes ( what we call in trade ) talent to make..

Slipknot on the other hand...are lacking talent and originality...and should be mocked for what they are...
