I looked this up a while back for reseach regarding a fan film. There are many sites out there that have all the basic lightsaber moves and techniques for you to learn.

I'll just go and see if I can find something. Hang on.....

This is quite good, but no pics, from our very own Theforce.net.

    Really??? [face_worried]

But I hardly ever take my lightsaber out with me! What if I get jumped by one of these Sith Lords?

I wonder if there are any Welsh Sith Lords?

You'd be suprised how quickly you pick up the basics. Once you learn the first set of standard attacks and parrys, its just getting used to it and developing your skills.

You'll be a level 7 before you know it. ;)

Just like your old master.. Me!

I Googled haidong gumdo and it looks very impressive. I guess if you want to learn this type of skill, that's the best way to go about doing it. Though I'm sure most martial arts schools offer some kind of lessons in sword/staff fighting.

One suggestions I would make though. Try and get a friend to learn also. Otherwise your lightsaber duals could look very one sided. ;)

Your lucky living in Cardiff. I bet there are loads of schools where you can learn this type of thing.

We used to have a poster here a while back (over a year and a half I think) that was like a blackbelt in about 6 different martial arts. He also had extensive knowledge of sword and weapon combat. I bet he could teach us all a few things.

So is it for a fanfilm that you want to learn this?

I myself are currently undergoing some form of training. Its more weight lifting training than combat skills really. Its partly to do with filling out my Anakin episode 3 costume properly come Halloween, but also to do with putting the smack down on people who annoy me. ;)
