D'oh! The Simpsons Quotations Roulette Challenge - Thank you to all participants!

I'm a big fan of quotes. Witty, stupid, weird, sweet...I like them all. And throughout the years, the wacky inhabitants of Springfield have given us many great ones.

I have a document here with 50 of those quotes. You choose a number between 1 and 50 (inclusive) and I will give you the corresponding quote. You then get to write a fic of any length, any genre, any era, with any pairings and anything else you want.

What's the catch?

You don't know what your quote's going to be. Some of them involve happiness, love, families and things of that nature. Some of them are a little more...bizarre. Best of luck, and most importantly, have fun!

1. REPLY to this thread with a number between 1 and 50 if you would like to participate. As soon as possible, I will contact you with the corresponding quote on my list. The first post will be kept updated with who has what number, etc.

2. WRITE a fic by the end of January. It must relate to the quote in some way shape or form, though it doesn't have to include it. Again, it can be any pairing, length, genre, etc.

3. Responses MUST include the name of the challenge in the title bar. In your fic, INCLUDE the original quote, as well as a link back to this thread.

4. When you have POSTED your fic, please post a link in this thread and/or PM this sock with the following information:

5. And, of course, HAVE FUN! There are no prizes, no awards, nothing save for a knowledge that you flexed your creative muscles and completed a challenge and wrote a fic about a quote from some episode of a TV show you may or may not have seen.

[u]Questions That Might Be Asked[/u]

[i]Does my story have to contain the quote exactly?[/i]

While it's usually better if you can fit the quote into the story somewhere, you don't have to. Some quotes just don't lend themselves too well to the SW universe. It is okay to have your story be "inspired by" the quote you received. Also, feel free to modify your quote if that'll make it work better for your fic.

[i]My quote is evil. I mean, really evil. Like Palpatine-plotting-to-take-over-the-galaxy-evil. Also, I've never heard of or seen this episode/show. Can I get a new one?[/i]

To be fair to everyone, unless your quote contains words which you are genuinely uncomfortable using or which violate the TOS (I've screened these quotes, and they should be okay. But when in doubt, ask the mods) please stick to the quote you received.

Yes. The concept was originated by [b]vader_incarnate[/b] in July 2005. With her permission I have taken the idea and put my own spin on it. I do have a question, though. If the fic turns out to become this monster of an epic or (like myself ) one is slooooow to write multi-post stories in general, does the entire thing have to be done by the end of Jan.? Or just the first post/first couple posts?

To answer your question, no, the entire story doesn't have to be finished. As long as there's at least one post by the end of January, it's fine.
