I mentioned this in the Petition thread earlier (along with mentioning the Clone Wars DVD in the appropriate thread), but it seemed to be overlooked there.

    Edit:
Also, I don't think you're supposed to directly quote from Hyperspace. I think you're only allowed to paraphrase.

    Thank you Lucasfilm! :D

I watched these cartoons on Sci Fi Channel every morning when I was younger. This will bring back a lot of memories.

I hope I can find them somewhere here in Chile... I can't buy them via-internet (Don't have credit card and my father wouldn't lend me his)... well, I'll have to wait and wish for the DVDs not to be only in the U.S., Please Lucasfilm, there are SW fans all over the world...

Suh-weet. Now we only need the two Ewoks movies and the Holiday Special and we're good to go.

I hope these are released in digipacks. I don't have all that much more room where I keep my DVDs, and it'd be kinda silly to buy a whole new case because of Star Wars.

But it'd sure be worth it.

Then you'll have to do what the rest of us do. Find another home for your other DVDs

How many discs do you think these sets will be? I don't own many TV DVDs, so I wouldn't be able to make a very accurate guess. Maybe 3 discs for Droids? (I calculated almost 6 hours for the whole series.) Ewoks lasted 2 seasons, while Droids was only one, correct? Ideas, anyone?

    Yes!

I loved my Droids VHS when I was younger.

I guess I can delete the episodes I've downloaded now! :D

Well, the covers are up here. Not quite as cool as I was expecting, though plenty adequate. But can anyone explain the significance of the "Double Feature" logo that each of the two boxes carries? And any guesses on how the discs will be formatted, in terms of number of episodes per disc, number of discs, etc.?

    Forget that.

See, that's what I'm trying to figure out. I never watched the show -- the episodes are a half hour, right? Shouldn't there be at least four, if not eight, episodes per disc? That's why I thought I was reading it wrong.

Yeah, apparently each release has a few episodes edited together to form small "features". Neither release will be full seasons. What a bummer. I was so excited before... :(

One of the US VHS releases of Droids is 'The Pirates and the Prince' - running time app. 90 mins. It's like a feature length episode. This is in fact three tv-episodes bolted together, because on the UK VHS release of that same 'cycle', we get the episodes seperately, with titles/credits in between.
I'm guessing this is what they'll call an episode.
So you're getting about 3 hours of Droids which is 2 or 6/7 episodes, depending on how you look at it.

Doesn't alter the fact that there's technically 4 cycles though, and we'll be getting 2 ;)
    The cycles are:

The Trigon One (the one with Boba Fett)
    Mon Julpa (The lost Prince)
The Great Heep (which is a preface for...)
    The Mungo Baobab Adventures

It's about 5½ hours all together. I reckon we'll get the first two so that they can release the second two at a later date ;)

I dread to think what they're gonna do with Ewoks though, there's 9 hours of those cartoons... :p
