On a different note, we are offering a $10 gift card with the purchase of Star Wars Battlefront. So, if you buy Battlefront and the DVD set, get the game first and then have them ring up your DVD set seperatly and use the $10 gift card on it. Hope this helps.

I was just reminded again this morning why I HATE WALMART!!!.
I thought, well its on my way to work & with something this big SURELY they'll have it right as you walk in the door. I can just grab one & go to the register & I'm out of there.

    NOPE!!!

I walked in & no display up front. I looked up and down the main isle before the cash registers & NO STAR WARS. I thought they will definitely have it in electronics then.

    NOPE!!!

NO DISPLAYS, NO FIGURES, NO STAR WARS DVDS ANYWHERE TO BE FOUND & nobody in electronics as usual for that matter. I later found out from a buddy at work who went at 7:30 that they locked only a handful of copys in the DVD cases & sold them before I got there. BTW, what other major department store chain locks up DVDs for Pete's sake. ANSWER = NONE, except WALMART.

As I got ready to walk out of the store, being utterly disgusted with them as usual & with myself for walking in there & thinking that for once (just this one time) they would get it right, I saw a Walmart employee & asked them if they had seen them anywhere.

The response I got was," Nope, I don't recall seeing any STAR TREK movies." "No! Not Star Trek, STAR WARS. The original Star Wars trilogy is being released on DVD for the first time ever TODAY. They've been advertising for the past week & every major department store is having sales & displays. "Oh. Aint seen notin bout dat." she said. She called electronics, which took a minute for them even to answer the phone, and told me that they were just bringing them out NOW. I got there at 7:50 a.m. It was now 8:10 (which made me late for work). It took me another 10 minutes to check out (in the fast lane). Which at Walmart is a contradiction in terms. I should have just paid the extra few dollars & gone to Target. That will teach me.

Again, I HATE WALMART!!! They ARE the evil Empire! ROLLBACK Man is really just a Yellow Death Star in disguise! :p ;)

BUT, at least I have my STAR WARS TRILOGY DVDs - FINALLY!!! WHOOOP!!! [face_dancing]

After not buying the DVDs at Suncoast where the 501st and a few rebels entertained the Rivergate Mall customers, I went to TRU where they had an empty display. They might have had some pulled for pre-orders.

I barely made it to Best Buy before closing and they had several copies of both FS and WS. Of course, I forgot to use my Reward Zone dollars (and realized I had a coupon expire over the weekend).

At Wal-Mart, I got bigger boots, but they didn't have any Star Wars DVDs visible anywhere. After hitting the toys aisle, I asked in electronics and they said they had some full screen locked up somewhere. Incidentally, I didn't see any copies of Mean Girls (also out today) either. They did have the new SOundtrack CDs for 14.88 each, $1.11 better than Best Buy's price. Looking at the packaging, it seems the lenticular art is new and there's a poster and some screensaver, but I think the tracks are the same as the Special Edition releases. They have been remastered in Sony SDS (whatever that means).

For the week of 9/19/04 to 9/25/04:
Star Wars Trilogy: See above posts. A few caveats: 1. Don't go right before your supposed to be at work 2. It appears that only Antioch is offering a good price 3. Apparantly Cool Springs is full of thieves so they have to lock DVDs up like criminals 4. Come to beautiful Antioch where WMT lets you fondle the merchandise and practically gives the DVDs away. :p
Mean Girls: Starring the hot & fully legal Lindsay Lohan, this movie made for the teenie-boopers is $15.99 at BB. BB includes a bonus on-pack "Burn Book" (guess you'd have to see the film to understand that one).
Coffee & Cigarettes: The indie film starring lots of big name stars is $15.99 at BB.
Disney at BB: Pocahontas (Gold Collection), Lilo & Stitch, Stitch The Movie, & Atlantis: Milo's Return are all $12.99 each.

I know, but you've always got to show kindness to the elderly and not make a big issue out of their age. [face_laugh]

WMT's not evil. Watch the commercials they build communities (yeah, I'm still a stockholder). Sounds like you've got the Nazi WMT, come over to the Hickory Hollow kinder & gentler WMT that won't rob you (but don't come when you've only got 10 minutes to spare before worktime) ;)

The only big differance to Aladdin is if you buy it at Kroger ($19.99, can you believe they act as if this is a SALE price?) they'll give you a bunch of stuff free. I'll post more details later today.
