All I can say to that is "This is the way"

 

I believe we are keeping the thread active to entice adoptions and show those who may peek in that they can trust the regulars. I do think we are on a tangent though.

Time to get back on target.

Tell us @Lady Belligerent - what can a new member expect if they are adopted?

Once a user has expressed an interest in being adopted, I send them a message asking a few questions about what they enjoy most about SW, and if there’s an area they would like specific guidance with. Those details help me place them with a member that has similar interests and frequents those areas of the boards. I then contact the potential adopter and make sure they will have time to be available for the newbie, when I get confirmation I send an introductory PM to both users. Some users have asked their questions in that PM where I participate also. We help with understanding the rules and etiquette of the JCF, also help with how and when to reach out to Moderators. Some newbies just need assistance with where specific interests are discussed, others are new to message boards and wish for extra guidance to jump into the discussions.

It’s a great program and a fun way to get to know fellow fans.

Can those who have officially signed up come forward and I would ask them to tell new users about the parts of the boards they hang out in mostly. Giving them the opportunity to see what is out there and how big this place is!

That is true, and honestly I am way over being saluted. Just by me a beer or a shot of Jeremiah Weed.

 

I actually know those guys. I was stationed with them over at Cannon AFB back in the day. Not my favorite song off their albums however.
