Gaming E3 2021 (and Summer Game Fest) - Discussion Thread (Starts June 12th to June 15th)

Ubisoft is always dire to the point of frequently ranking worst in show. In that sense, a bad Ubi show is a welcome bit of normalcy.

Edit: Although this year I think it’s going to be hard to dethrown the Embracer Group boring interview extravaganza.

 

Death Stranding is awesome. I’d be happy to to rebuy it full price if enough new stuff is in it just to show my appreciation of the original experience I had.

Would love if it’s just a free PS5 upgrade though...

 

Avatar looks gorgeous. Maybe it'll follow the movie tradition and come out in 2034.

I don't really care if there's a new Switch or not but if you don't find the constant "ANY DAY NOW" guesses over the last two years contrasted with brutal silence from Nintendo hilarious, well, what's even the point of following the hobby news any more?

The announcements for the existing Ubisoft franchises pretty much just said what we already knew.

I am oddly intrigued by the odd DLC for Far Cry 6 where you play... the villains from the previous three games in some sort of weird afterlife/mindscape?

 

So far I’ve only really been excited for jurassic World Evolution 2, loved the first one. Kinda looking forward to the next far cry also. But today is Microsoft and
Square Enid so they should be good.

looking forward to the improvements for Halo and hopefully announcement for FF7 remake on Xbox but I’m not holding my breath for that one.

also the weirdest thing out of this E3 compare to a few years ago is that I’m most looking forward to the EA play section.

 

MS is usually reliable for a good show. SE could go either way now that, in theory, they’re not going to have to waste an inordinate amount of time trying to convince people their Avengers game is worth spending hundreds of dollars on.

 

Apparently the Starfield trailer ran early on WaPo with an 11 November 2022 release date, so I'd imagine we're getting a decent chunk of that coming up here.

 

Looking forward to Xbox and SE. I want some Final Fantasy 16 news. Want Fable news.

Does Falcom have an event or is part of another’s event? Would love to see some Legend of Heroes news.
