No, that's Maz Kanata when she was 100 years old. That bastard George Lucas lied! It didn't happen a long time ago, it's just about to happen about 900 years from now!

I live 1 ferry ride away from Bohol... I'd kill to have SW shoot there!

The hills are made of limestone thats why it's not a good place for trees to grow. Only hardy grass (kogon) can grasp onto the limestone.

I think it's a mistake to look for unusual places. The best Star Wars locations, IMO, are familiar landscapes that are either stark or beautiful, but recognizable. And then touched up with little alien details here and there (multiple moons/ suns, creatures, architecture, technology, etc). Makes it like something out of a dream - familiar, but strange and intriguing. So, I don't want to see anything like the Rainbow Mountains. But the Red Sea Beach in China would be great.

I think something real wired would fit very good once in an while.
Also some Worlds with less gravity and atmospheres would be great for an change.

The problem with different gravity and atmospheres is that the majority of the population of the GFFA would never set foot on them. What's the point of setting up camp on a world that is hostile when there are so many nice ones about where you don't have to wear lead boots or a gas mask. The only reason these places would have anyone on them is if they had some unique or extremely rare commodity associated with them.

Agreed. Though I could also see some outlaws having a hideout on such a place.

Awesome @Chewies, a little CGI and that would be quite unique. Sometimes you forget about these great places closer to home.

There are hundreds, if not thousands, of geographies and ecosystems here on Earth that have not yet been featured in Star Wars. And since LFL seems to be emphasizing location-shooting, I can't wait to see more of these.

I particularly want to see locations in a savannah, bamboo forest, Central Asian dryland and Mongolian steppe.

The Kimberley region in Western Australia would be amazing to have on film.

That would be great for another part of Ahch-To, may be a larger island or continent you see from space when the Falcon arrives in TFA.

The landscape itself doesn't need to be otherwordly. It's the alien touches made to the landscapes that will do the trick. So I don't think they should look for unnatural-looking or unusual natural formations (such as natural formations that almost seem man made).

Not sure why, but I imagined Snoke emerging from that underground lake. Like Grendel's mother.

Nice to see a fellow Filipino here on the Jcf!

I was supposed to visit Bohol when I was in the Phillipines two years ago, but our plane turned back mid flight back to Manila cause there was a bad typhoon hitting Bohol at that time. it's one of my bucket list destinations to visit once I'm back in the Philippines alongside El Nido and Coron

If somehow the Chocolate Hills showed up in Star Wars, man that'd be awesome.

Or we see a tropical beach planet like El Nido and Coron.

I think it would be good tactics to declare that a movie will film entirely in China.
It'll make them an extra Billion bucks.
