Kujo's eye twitched slightly at the presence of Johnathan the Brit... although, perhaps the dude was Italian instead 'Giovanna' was not exactly a British name. He smirked, Kujo actually knew a little Italian, not much, but the first part of Giovanna... it sounded more like 'Jovanna' when pronounced.

This 'Jojo' was really beginning to annoy him, Kujo had called dibs on this guy first and now he wanted to take them both on? What an arrogant idiot.

His eye twitched further still as he saw Jojo go for the first punch, who the hell did this guy think he was? 'Yeah let me just steal this fight from ya'. Kujo had no interest in fighting someone two versus one unless he was the one!

"Oi!" he yelled, ripping off his jacket as he looked with fury toward Johnathan.

"I'm going to crush you," he said, finger raised, his eyes filled with anger.

"You don't just steal someone's fight like that, I hate people getting in the way of a good fight,"

He stood, his eyebrow furrowed in anger as he brought both his hands to his side, cupped together as he felt the energy build within his palms, becoming bright and blue as it manifested itself.

    "RYUUU!"

    "KEN!"

As he spoke the name of his move 'Ryuken', which was a part of the move itself, he unleashed the charged energy towards Jojo. The blue mass traveling at a hurtling speed towards his adversary.

    IC: Johnathan Giovanna

    Livid

To the shock of Johnathan, his stalker, who made unpleasant passes and solicitations for a fight against him multiple times, had just done the unthinkable and attacked him.

    For no bloody reason!

Their previous opponent didn't choose a fighter and instead opted for a handicap match. Johnathan was happy to agree; he just wanted some time to practice his moves and train.

    But Kujo?

Oh no, Kujo was THAT type of person. A person who threw tantrums when they didn't get their way.

So the blast hit Johnathan as he was unable to stop.

He was already in motion, mid-smash uppercut, how unprofessional, how uncouth, how dishonorable!

So Johnathan was hit right in his side, sent tumbling away...

    Sliding across the dojo floor.

    And when he stood up?

    He was livid.

His anger was absolute, his rage a geyser of malice!

    A waterfall of wrath!

    A tsunami of retribution!

Johnathan got up and set his sights immediately on Kujo.

    "KUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!"

Johnathan reconnected with his ki, with the ripple energy!

    IT WAS ON!

The usual honorable Johnathan was bloodlusted.

Johnathan didn't feel any pain from Kujo's attack; that's how enraged he was.

But blood did dribble from the side of his mouth, so it did something...

But not enough to make Johnathan stop seeing red.

So Johnathan charged and Kujo and bellowed a war cry...

    "SUNLIGHT YELLOW OVERRRRRRDRIVUUU!!!!"

Johnathan yelled this as he was within range of Kujo and sent flurry upon a flurry of punches at the cretin!

    Glorious

A broad grin came over Kujo's face. He had never used his 'Ryuken' against a person before, in fear that it would kill them. But these other gifted... they truly were strong, Jojo had survived his blast, and this brought great joy in the heart of Kujo, for now he knew he could fight for real.

He would only have a moment for this jubilation however as he saw his opponent come in, wow he must have really ticked him off. Well good! This man gave of the air that he was somehow better than everyone else as if he was some kind of 'worthy fighter'. Yeah, sure. As much as Johnathan annoyed Kujo he could only feel joy in his heart in this moment, that he could actually fight someone, go all out, without worrying about killing them.

As Johnathan took his moment to reconnect with his own Ki, so would Kujo, dipping into the greater depths that he had not explored against an opponent. Only practiced against inanimate objects.

He could feel it, the heat rushing through his system, as the Ki manifested itself outwardly around him in a dazzling red aura, his voice yelling as he felt his muscles increase slightly in size. His hands coming up as flat palms in an effort to deflect each of Johnathan's blows. They were more powerful than he was expecting, a taunt rising to his mind only to be suppressed due to the need to concentrate. Any one of Kujo's or Johnathan's blows he thought would kill a normal person, but these two, they were no ordinary people. Despite their differences and clear growing hatred for one another there was one thing that was becoming clear.

    They both loved to fight.

OOC: Following actions were previously discussed with the GM and approved. Just, you know, saying ahead of time…*shifty eyes*

    Dōryoku Ōsutin IC:
~Matching Hall and then...., NAMMA Tournament HQ~

Slowly Ōsutin arrived at the entrance to the place where NAMMA’s special tournament was supposedly to be held. His body was all warmed up, having sporadically danced his way through Tokyo before coming upon the front doors.

And why not? This should be a good, good day! At last, if the claims were anything to go by, Ōsutin would finally have some real, true fights. Challenges at last! Everyone else has been an utter disappointment in his life thus far. Disgusting trash and no more.

But then, if he was truly ‘the fittest’ the world had to offer…then it only stood to reason he would be the one to always survive, no? If the strongest in the world were gathering here and now though, he would soon learn if he had just been fighting the wrong ones this whole time. If true, he would be both happy to have finally found the real strength of the world but also very annoyed at all those wasted years essentially.

His eyes settled on the rather plain doorman before him, forcing him to stop and size him up. Nope, this one was a nobody. Completely and entirely. If he was going to get in his way…

    “Hello, MIster Dōryoku!”

“I am Itsuki Aso! I’ll be guiding you throughout the tournament HQ!”

While this As…o was giving him a thumbs up, Ōsutin wouldn’t move a muscle. The Gifted had become as still as a statue, his eyes staring right at his greeter. Boring into him, but with an unreadable atmosphere. It was nigh impossible to read exactly Mr. Dōryoku’s mood, let alone what he was thinking, as he…Just. Kept. Staring.

For an entire five full minutes. He didn’t move an inch, he didn’t even blink somehow.

    ((Likely Itsuki Aso's reaction))

((Likely reaction from Itsuki Pt. 2...this is a guess of course))

And then, all of a sudden……

The Gifted just spun away, as if annoyed! Likely leaving poor Itsuki Aso completely confused and uncertain how to proceed. Before he could do anything, Ōsutin was suddenly spinning back to face him again!

Just like that his energy was immense, outshining the excitement Itsuki had a bit ago! A big oafish grin on the man’s face, as if nothing was amiss.

    “OOOOOOKAAAAY!”

    …..And that was that.

From there he would be shown around the grounds and various floors, which aside from where they would be fighting, Ōsutin only paid the most minimal of attention to. When told abut being shown his room at the end of the day, he just shrugged.

“Eh, I probably won’t have any need for it anyway, baby.”

He seemed genuinely serious with saying that too. As they looked toward the fortieth floor's gigantic screen in the matching hall, he saw his opponent’s name: Masuda Katashi.

    “Ooooo! Where’s Masuda-chan??

When hearing he wasn’t likely around at the moment, Ōsutin just spat in disgust. “Tch.”

And then that was when his instincts went into overdrive. His head suddenly looked upward so quickly, there was likely a popping sound in his neck.

    ……………............................

    “SUNLIGHT YELLOW OVERRRRRRDRIVUUU!!!!”

The sound of power meeting power, an aura of intensity suddenly radiating out from a room above. That grin was back on his face.

“OH HO HO HO HO HO! Never mind little Aso-kun, I think I don’t need your assistance anymore!”

A hand casually reached out to pat the man on the head…..then gripped and twisted.

    Snap! Murder...murder on NAMMA grounds...

Before he fell to the ground, he caught him before suddenly carrying him over to a spot directly below where he heard the fighting above. How dare they start without him!

And how utterly perfect! It was time to get started! NO MORE WAITING!!!

Summoning all of his energy into his legs and feet, he crouched, waited for it all to build just enough and then let it all loose in a gigantic bound that launched him straight through the ceiling and up into the training hall above, right in between Johnathan and Kujo

    “I’M HERE, BA—OOF!”

A smash from the crazed fighter unleashing his barrage unintentionally struck the side of his face. Side effect of jumping right into the middle of it, and forced him to stagger back once he landed (still holding the body of Itsuki).

“Heh heh heh…” he spat a small bit of blood onto the floor, “Now that’s a welcoming! YEAH!”

Ōsutin's gaze shifted between the two warriors who had caught his first notice in this place. So far he was liking what he was seeing!

“So, who we got here, baby, hmmm?”

His eyes went immediately serious as an intense focus settled around him, the body of the dead man still in his arms for some reason.

    OOC: Canteen fun with @greyjedi125

    IC Keara and Ash
    Canteen...to start

Keara had finished her breakfast as they spoke and the moment seemed right to move on and begin to explore the facility, which might prove interesting with the guides always trying to follow them or lead them. But then the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end. Without making it obvious by turning her head, she glanced around the ceiling to see if any of the cameras were pointed in their direction. But each seemed to have those smoky domes over them which made seeing where they were pointed almost impossible.

    ”Lumina caelum…”* she muttered.

Glancing back at her opponent, ”I had planned to explore the facility. Perhaps two sets of eyes would be better than one?”

Ash did not react to what was said in Latin, at least outwardly. His gaze said everything that needed to be said, for he understood they were being watched. He even felt it. Unfortunately, he couldn't tell where exactly it was coming from, which was frustrating.

Hmmm. Nothing to be done about it - for now.

At the suggestion of going exploring, Ash's eyes glinted in anticipation. That certainly sounded like a good idea, except for their guides. Losing them in the crowd would be a good test and a welcome challenge.

Ash nodded affirmatively as he was about to speak, then stopped.

There was a sudden spike he felt with his senses, with his Qi even. It felt fearsome and intense, similar to being exposed to stinging sun rays - and not unlike the auras of the fighting monks of Kalimatra. Of course, Ash was too seasoned to react outwardly, though his eyes did narrow slightly. Ah, there! He could feel the direction from whence the intense Qi originated.

That, and the fact that there was more than one.

"Can you feel that?" He inquired of Keara carefully, his head tilting ever so slightly.

Keara’s senses were screaming at her, someone or several someones were wielding high levels of Qi. Her eyes tracked upward, toward where the sense of power was coming from. She shook her head. The matches hadn’t started yet so the levels of energy she was sensing meant that someone was letting themselves get out of hand.

A small smile touched her lips, ”Do you think we could have used a better distraction? I suspect they track us by our Qi and with that much Qi energy being thrown around I doubt they can track every one of us.” she mused.

Her eyes dropped from their gaze at the battle that seemed to be ongoing, ”So, no time like the present, hmmm?”

Ash grinned conspiratorially. Had the Tournament Organizers even considered the possibility of potential rivals becoming allies, joined to a greater cause? In the end, the answer didn't matter.

"No time like the present." Ash echoed, his words spoken with such measured control that the sound would not travel past Keara. He did move closer though, before speaking again. He gave a subtle tilt of his head towards their guides.

    "What about them?"

It was an interesting theory she posed. Using the blinding Qi of others to cover their own. Certainly they would need to contend with cameras and other technological surveillance measures. It was good to put those to the test. How good were their guides at tracking? Guess they would find out. Ash could feel a rising thrill growing inside of him. He welcomed it fully. It felt different, untainted. Safe.

Keara let her gaze roam the room, deliberately not looking solely where he’d nodded. She thought about it quickly, they didn’t really have much time. ”There are a couple options, get them into a, hopefully, less observed part of the complex and leave them unconscious there, but that means they’ll be out for us both a lot sooner.”

She took in all the other contestants around and a smile formed, ”I’m sure our fellow competitors are not pleased, for other reasons, to always be followed. Five minutes for us to both tell them to scatter and get the guides all confused and we meet at that,” she nodded at a door in the wall to their left, ”door?

"What about....." He said slowly, his eyes glinting now with intent, after considering her words.

    "....food fight?"

Ash felt himself grinning from ear to ear. His hand cupped his plate of steamed vegetables just so.

The mental images the ensuing chaos conjured by his mind were all too compelling, still, he would not initiate it if Keara was not all-in. Whatever they did going forward, needed to be with full consent. A food fight would certainly keep all the guides occupied as they tried to regain control of the situation, making it all too easy for them to make their get away.

Keara grinned broadly. She was quite glad her new comrade was thawing. She wasn’t trying to get into his secrets but it helped that he was more comfortable for them to be able to accomplish what they wanted. She looked around, nodding at a couple of likely targets. She found her oatmeal and began to spin the bowl in her hands.

”On three?” she asked and then settled herself to take aim and opened her mouth to yell, ”FOOD FIGHT!!!” in a loud voice when her mental countdown reached zero.

So, it were in agreement. On three. A nod of confirmation was given.

    Good.

Keara began the count down and Ash kept in mental sync, his grin etched upon his pale face, his expression somewhere between gleeful and sinister. This was a good test for them both, to see how well they 'melded' together. Due to his former line of work and the exceeding perils and risks they presented, Ash did find himself making 'alliances of convenience' in order to survive. Such efficiency of synergy is why he was still alive today, some might argue. Still, deep inside himself, he secretly hoped this 'unspoken mission' with Keara did not turn out to be just 'mutual utilization'.

In a flash, the thought vanished as quickly as it had formed, the moment was at hand.

    'zero'

Still grinning, Ash launched his vegetable bowl in perfect synchronicity with Keara's 'oatmeal attack', the bowl zipping past the side of her face as it spun like a discus, swiftly traversing the canteen airspace. Ash was aiming at a corpulent bald-headed competitor on the far side of the room. His aim would be flawless, as shinobi accuracy was simply that. The result would be spectacular, as was intended.

Or at least, that was his hope.

Keara grinned as Ash’s bowl went spinning past her head. He’d apparently thought as she had as she whipped hers past his at a tall, slender opponent sitting further down the table from them. As the two of them spread out to encourage others to do the same, the corpulent one and the thinner one looked up, only seeing the other as the closest that could have thrown the food.

In mere moments the canteen began to devolve into a free for all, as food went flying everywhere. There were cries, laughter, and Qi being raised as the competitors began to react in a variety of ways to the flying food. The guides were the key and Keara could see Ash floating through the clots of people as she was doing, until the guides reacted to the chaos that ensued. At which point they’d be able to slip out of the canteen and begin their true task.

    Elsewhere...

The security room's computer screens suddenly all joined together in sequence, focusing on the recent actions of Doryoku Osutin. The usual smirk that rested on Ryuji Nishikiyama's face disappeared.

One of his employees, Itsuki Aso, was just killed by the competitor for no apparent reason. Ryuji frowned deeply. He was aware of Osutin's... uniqueness. But he did not expect things to escalate so soon.

Half the screens then switched to a scene in the cafeteria, a food brawl had erupted, leaving more chaos for NAMMA to deal with. His eye twitched, and his jaw clenched.

The technician positioned a few feet behind him saw his fists clench, before they slammed down on the table below the computers, shattering it, chunks of wood flying across the room.

"Watch Osutin's interaction. If he is incapacitated by the fighters he's surrounded by, bring him to the medical bay. You know what to do if else." His attention then turned directly to the cafeteria.

    What a mess.

"Send a security detachment to calm that situation." Ryuji ordered, before turning on his heel and storming out of the room, pausing for a moment before he left.

"We couldn't have one damn day for things to go smoothly."

    ---

    Dojo, The Training Hall, Morning

The fighter who had challenged both Jonathan Giovanna and Kujo Takahashi snarled when he saw a man burst from the ground, before getting struck himself. For the briefest moment, he looked at Jonathan and Kujo, before dashing forward and...

The blow would be sudden, leaving little in the way for Osutin to react. In truth, the challenger had hoped that the three of them could deal with this man quickly and resume their duel.

Then again, a fighter must be prepared for all situations. Perhaps this would devolve into a four-way battle. Time would tell...

    @Darth_Elu @Narancia @Shadowsun

    ---

The Canteen Hall, NAMMA Tournament HQ, Morning

Chaos erupted in the hall. The bald man and slender competitor began to volley their respective meals towards each other in retaliation to what they believed to be the perpetrators. The other competitors would follow suite, with the guides across the walls raising brows, some stepping forward in attempt to cease the fight.

In some cases, the food fight quickly devolved into brawls, with one competitor picking up his opponent and slamming him down onto a table, breaking it into pieces.

Keara Alais and Ash Armitage would take this opportunity while it lasted. The guides, distracted by the food fight, would either be looking for shelter or trying to calm the crowd with words.

They stepped out into the usual red and gold halls of NAMMA Tournament Headquarters, with the facility now free for exploration, guide-free.

OOC: A fun combo with @Shadowsun to properly welcome Otsuin :p

    IC: Kujo and Johnathan

The two of their movements flowed in tandem, their skill and power seemingly closer than ever of them had expected. The grin on Kujo's face only continued to grow until...

Another man, without warning, burst out of nowhere, entering the fray for no apparent reason. Kujo snarled. His eyes growing with hatred and annoyance.

Johnathan joining in on the fight at least made some sense, but this man was from nowhere and had no business interrupting this fight. He would view as their initial challenged leaped into the attack, Kujo's eyes now darting to Johnathan's with a look of understanding. His hands and arms stopped as he leaped back a few feet, a nod that conveyed all that needed to be said.

    Let's deal with this guy...

    Johnathan's anger was rising.

    It was overflowing!

Kujo had awakened the bestial side of Johnathan, one that he always kept hidden. Some needlessly violent or convoluted trama didn't create it, but instead, it was birthed by something so simple, so insidious, so human. Everyone had this deep down within their psyche, but it manifested in people in many different ways.

    It was pride.

    Honor.

    Chivalry.

    Passion.

These ingredients bore the perfect storm that was Johnathan's rage, and so when some clown interrupted the bout between him and Kujo and dared to think that he could just join the chaos like it was some playground game, Johnathan was livid.

    Was this some joke?

Fighting was a man's game; there was no need for gangling sissies to prance about, pretending that they were the main characters of everyone's reality.

"In Britain, we throw acid at people like you. You wouldn't have survived in the streets nor the comfort of your own prissy sheets."

Johnathan gave a nod to Kujo and cracked his fingers.

    "Gladly."

Kujo leaped and darted to the side of this newcomer, his eyes burning with purpose as he cupped his hands together by his side. He was still in his 'Dragon Form,' the energy around him building as the floor creaked with power. His eyes locked on squarely as an opening appeared before him.

    "RYUUUUUU!"

    "KEN!"

The intense ball of blue light was at least twice the size of the one Kujo had sent barrelling into JoJo, its blue energy sizzling the air as it made towards the intruder. In his mind, between him and the two other warriors he was sure there was no way this man was not going out right away.

Johnathan roared as his anger went overboard.

In this state, Johnathan wanted to show this clown that he entered the wrong tournament and didn't belong here. Or, if the clown survived, it would be an initiation of sorts so that they would learn to take this seriously. As the one thing Johnathan hated most was the lack of passion.

And Johnathan sniffed it all over this man; it permeated within their very soul, they tried to substitute it with being "comedic," but being the class clown only leads to being killed in the real world.

    "SENDO WAVE KICK!!!"

Johnathan yelled as he jumped with a terrifying amount of power, gaining air that no man his size should but to the other gifted, it was obvious to see how Johnathan achieved this as he used his ki to jump high in the air, made sure he was not in any collision course with the blast so even if by some shenanigan that he missed, the beam wouldn't come close to hitting him.

Then Johnathan channeled his Hamon into his legs and dive-bombed at the intruder's neck, ensuring that the man was trapped and had to no doubt face the full brunt of Kujo's and Johnathan's full power attacks.

OOC: And here I thought you’d have moved on without me. *sniff* ;)

    Dōryoku Ōsutin IC:
    ~Training Hall, NAMMA HQ~

Oh…they were angry were they? Someone interrupting their little play-fight? Poor babies had to learn how to stop pretending and face the real deal sooner or later, ain’t that right, baby?

“In Britain, we throw acid at people like you. You wouldn’t have survived in the streets nor the comfort of your own prissy sheets.”

    “Gladly.”

A slight upturn at the corner of his mouth. If only they knew. Last time he had been in Britain, the streets had barely survived him. He was quite certain the news media in the UK still talked about his rampage now and again, even if they never knew the identity of the strange killer.

But that’s ok. They were about to learn. Oh yes!

And then the two of them, no…three of them were converging on him. So quickly, with high energy outputs from the beginning! Yes, he liked this lot immensely!

Too bad they all acted at the same time with clearly no coordination whatsoever. Well, two of them tried. The third…? Not so much. The other two lost whatever cohesion they attempted the moment they ignored the attack from the third one.

Oh, and they weren’t paying attention to their surroundings too much. In this case, what was in his hands.

    Poor little Aso-kun.

    “RYUUUUUU!”

The grin on Ōsutin’s face was palpable and more than a little frightening given that there was no reason to be grinning in that manner given his situation. But when combat and death was all that was on your mind…

…then this was only just what he was craving to begin with! They were playing right into his desires.

YES YES YES YES, FIRE! FIRE, BABY, FIRE!!!

    “KEN!”

And there came the other one trying to combo him into a gigantic uppercut while the massive wave of energy barreled toward him. He’d have almost no time to react to Uppercut Man, except for the fact he didn’t have to do much thereby minimizing the energy and reaction time necessary.

He just shifted Aso-kun’s body over to take the hits meant for him, instantly dropping down and letting go of him and spinning into a smooth sweeping kick.

    “SENDO WAVE KICK!!!”

Here came the angriest one of the bunch. MINDLESS RAGE WAS SO FUN TO PLAY WITH!! Especially when such an airborne kick got him cleanly out of Fireball Boy's attack….

Only to be met with Aso-kun’s airborne corpse due to Uppercut Man.

Would that trouble him? Oh no, likely not. But it would mess up his timing and positioning, which was notoriously difficult to readjust in midair.

Furthermore, should his sweep (all happening in the same instance as everyone else’s actions) succeed in taking the man off his feet, he’d be instantly grabbing with his right hand and with the finish of his sweep’s momentum; launch him straight into the energy attack thereby having it explode before hitting him.

Too many bodies converging on one spot sure made targeting difficult, didn’t they?

As the blast was intercepted, the explosion obscuring Fireball Boy's vision in that millisecond, Ōsutin was quickly gathering his ki into his legs and launching himself straight up into the air to meet Angry Face-chan!

Turning horizontally as he shot upwards to make an obscure angle of attack that would be hard to prepare for, especially after Angry Face-chan was already having to waste precious milliseconds dealing with the corpse; Ōsutin also simultaneously and subtly used his darkness attributes to have the shadows connect to his limbs and spin him horizontally upwards like that, much like a top.

    ((To give an idea))

Using his elbow at the moment of impact to smash downwards on Angry Face’s assaulting knee and whip around a free leg of his own to strike painfully into the man’s side, he hoped that would send him crashing into the floor first with a thunderous boom upon body meeting floor.

To top it all off, they…like so many before them…underestimated him. His appearance alone always threw off his opponents, so the joy he would feel when Angry Face-chan felt the staggering power behind his ki-enhanced kick (now beginning to utilize Earth like properties to enhance the strength even further)….oh, he would be SO surprised!

And quite bloody too, he would imagine.

“YES, BABY! THIS IS WHAT WE WANT!!!!”

((Albeit from a different angle of attack))

IC: Keara Alais and Ash Armitage
    NAMMA Tournament HQ, Morning

As the doors to the canteen closed behind them the hall Keara and Ash found themselves in became quieter. She scanned both directions but but appeared to be the same color scheme and appearance. Her eyes moved in a slightly unfocused pattern, allowing her to take in as much as possible, including locations of the ubiquitous security cameras.

Glancing at her companion, "There doesn’t seem to be a difference of direction that we take, to start.” Gesturing down to the left, "My guide brought me down a lift that way so there’s that but it doesn’t guarantee that there isn’t another lift the other direction. Flip a coin?”

Ash was visibly pleased by their success on sneaking out of the canteen during the food fight they had started. The distraction had worked out better than he had anticipated, seeing how there were so many willing participants. Despite wishing to indulge, if even for a moment, it was best for the two of them to exploit that opportunity for all it was worth. Once outside the canteen, yet still grinning at Keara, Ash paused for a moment , considering the options presented by his co-conspirator. His eyes narrowed slightly as he reached out with his Gift. The corridors might seem empty, but there were still living beings behind walls and riding elevators.

Ash could feel the spiking levels of energy from the tournament participants involved in the food fight, just as well as whoever was fighting above them. The blond shinobi would use this same ability to suss out any guards or guides that may be unseen in the path ahead.

In that moment, however, Ash's expression changed, if only for a brief second as he felt a 'light' suddenly go out, forcibly. He knew what this felt like, he knew what it was, for he had been the author of such occurrences in the past, many times over.

Someone had been killed. Violently. Unexpectedly.

"Did you feel...!?" Ash blurted out before he could stop himself, then shook his head.

"Uh...nevermind. It's...nothing." He asserted quickly, then smiled weakly, as he tried to mask the event.

"I was thinking the stairwell might be better..."Ash ventured, focusing back on their mission, very much acting as if nothing had happened.

"Elevators can be controlled remotely and we can be easily trapped in them." he explained.

"As for which stairwell we take, I think you should pick first."

The wicked smirk was now returning to him, for indeed, nothing had changed. Absolutely nothing would be allowed to deter them from achieving their now mutual goal.

Keara sighed, when she felt the surge and then flattening of Qi, of life energy. Her own Qi snarled at the sensation and her eyes narrowed. But, unfortunately for NAMMA, it did add to the chaos that would let them explore.

She chuckled at the devil may care grin on Ash’s face when he suggested she choose. Finger flicking back and forth, “Four, three, two, one.” The motion started with her finger pointing toward the direction he’d entered from when reaching the canteen, so, when she reached zero, she grinned.

"Looks like we go the way you came from.” She knew he’d realized right away she’d rigged the game but that was all part of the fun.

Ash allowed himself a rare chuckle. He still wasn't letting down his defenses, for he would have no real clue ho two do just that- however, he silently had to admit, he was beginning to enjoy whatever was happening. It was strange and oddly pleasing, even if he had to make a mental note to 'watch himself' so not to be lulled into a vulnerable position. The mission, he had to keep the mission as his main focus.

"Alright." He heard himself say with a wry grin. "That's where we shall go." He agreed with a nod, but even as he spoke, he made quick motions with his index finger, indicating the cameras he had spied earlier - a palming motion denoted the pressure pads.

    "Stairwell." he reminded. "Lead on."

Raising her Qi, Keara smiled. This was going to be fun. She could have made a quick run down the corridor but there were other ways to keep anyone that would otherwise be notified by either of them stepping on a pressure plate from wondering why they were where they were. And let her have fun too.

She spun and leapt, dancing down the hallway. To anyone watching, she was simply laughing and enjoying the motion of the dance. But if they were watching carefully they’d notice that almost all of her movements kept her out of sight of the cameras and not once did her feet touch one of the obvious areas her Qi warned her in advance were pressure plates. As she spun, leapt, bounced from wall to wall, she kept an eye out on Ash.

"Last one there buys dinner.” They didn’t have to pay as NAMMA was covering everything here but she was having such fun and it felt right to say.

Ash chuckled audibly as he observed Keara keenly. He knew this game, it was very similar to the test of accuracy the monks used to drill him with way back when. He could sense the currents too, which made him able to pin-point each spot Keara touched with enhanced accuracy.

    So, she chose to dance.

Ash took a moment to admire how fluid and graceful she was, it made him smile all the more. But he was never much of a dancer, that would have never been a part of his given skill set. But there was something else he could do to equal effect.

"I much rather split the tab." he called out, accepting Keara's challenge. Immediately, Ash began to perform a mixed routine of tricking, tumbling and acrobatics. Each time he landed, it was in the exact same spot Keara had been, for the same exact amount of time. He made it look 'playful', of course- like a typical boy 'showing off' in order to impress a girl. He even pretended to lose his balance and 'save' from falling at the last second.

    Ha!!

"You're not getting away that easy!" he joked as he followed.

Keara continued to spin and dance, a lilting laugh coming from her throat as she moved. She could see Ash and his movements, could feel his Qi as he followed her pattern across and down the corridor. Glancing back over her shoulder, "You still have to catch me!” she called out.

Seeing a tricky section ahead, she called upon her Qi and sped up, becoming almost a blur of motion. She was sure he could keep up but this was not for his benefit but to get past the maze of sensors closer to the stairwell.

Ash focused, even as he smirked. She was challenging him and he welcomed it, but he also understood Keara was mindful of a denser surveillance zone - and was reacting accordingly.

In response, he too called upon a surge of Qi and matched her speed and accuracy, navigating blind spots, becoming a blur of motion. Still pictures would capture nothing but a streak of shadow at best, if anything at all. Easily, he somersaulted, vaulted, then silently ran along walls, just as he did during his unspoken black ops missions. For just a split second, Ash did marvel at how evenly matched they seemed - but that thought was quickly filed away, at least for now.

"Careful, you wouldn't want to be struck by lightning." Ash half-joked, without elaborating.

Inside several heartbeats, Ash reached the spot where Keara was now located and simply 'stuck' to the wall for a moment, before dropping down as light as a feather.

It was time to enter the stairwell.

"Down or up?" He asked, conspiratorially- a grin visible upon his face.

The instant Keara and Ash arrived at the stairwell, a deafening alarm would fill the halls of NAMMA Tournament HQ.

Attention all contestants. Please immediately return to your rooms and wait until further notice.

The alarm would repeat itself, over and over, as a few contestants began to move to their rooms. Keara and Ash would notice, on the opposite end of the hall, a platoon of guards, presumably for NAMMA, swarm into the hall, armored from top to bottom, and enter the canteen hall.

As the first platoon disappeared, a group of three guards would also appear, from the same entrance the previous platoon had.

Ash and Keara, with their heightened senses, would hear them say "Lock this floor down."

Keara smiled in delight, "I doubt they caught either of us yet, but that fight upstairs may have gotten a bit more out of hand.” She looked up and down the stairwell, thinking rapidly. With a nod she began to use the railings to jump up a flight at a time.

Looking back to Ash, "This may have narrowed options a bit but I suspect we could both fit in those troops' uniforms when we reach a higher floor. Most major businesses, even front ones, tend to have their more important stuff up high, silly in this day and age.” she expressed as her reasoning.

For a brief second, Ash's eyes narrowed dangerously as he tensed and gathered his Qi sharply for combat, arcs of lightning coursed through his body- but once he understood they hadn't tripped the alarms, meaning, security goons were not coming directly at them, he relaxed somewhat, and the arcs of lightning vanished.

If they hadn't tripped the alarm? Who did? What would Keara wish to do now? return to their respective quarters of exploit the opportunity?

Ash was very pleased when Keara spoke next, revealing that they would go on as planned. Despite himself, a wide grin appeared on his face. That's exactly what he was hoping for.

Ash grunted and nodded at Keara's reasoning, very much in agreement. They no longer had time for sight seeing and would need to move swiftly. Now with the alarms, security zones would be much harder to traverse. It was also better to find out a much as possible about NAMMA before the were discovered.

Watching her, he really wondered how was it that they were so similar in their thinking, as Ash had also thought of using the railings as launch points to propel himself upwards. Making quick mental notes and shelving them, the Gifted shinobi quickly followed after Keara, one prodigious leap after another, as they both ascended the stairwell in synchronized swiftness, befitting well trained Gifted.

It took the pair only a few moments, with the way it seemed both their Qi’s assisted their agility and stamina, to ascend seven floors. Keara hung by one foot and an arm, over a 500 foot drop, to where Ash was on the opposite side. "All the way to the top and work down…? Or, more accurately, the first at that height that doesn’t need multiple access ports to enter, seeing as we don’t have security key cards yet.” She spoke softly, as stairwells were notorious for transmitting sounds both up and down.

The whole time they travelled upwards, Ash felt a singular focus, a calm he'd seldom felt by himself, much less in the company of another. The pair appeared to move in a delicately synchronized fashion. Their steps were so light, their motions so fluid, their trajectories so precise, one would wonder if they had actually suspended the laws of gravity. Onward they ascended, all seemed quiet as their prize grew closer. For Ash, the world was a peaceful place inside a bottled moment.

Together, they came to a stop, both hanging-on to railings in the stairwell in what seemed to be a precarious manner.

Ash listened to Keara as she spoke, but there was something else, something had caught his attention, something he had almost missed. He remained silent as his eyes narrowed. He was sure Keara would feel it at any moment too. Inside his mind, he would come to a singular conclusion: somehow, in some manner, they were being tracked.

With an almost languid motion, Ash jotted out his chin in the proper direction. He could feel them before they even came in from the corridors. Somehow, they had 'coincidentally' run into an enclosing patrol.

    NAMMA Tournament HQ

All the rooms in the vast labyrinth of NAMMA tournament turned red as alarms blared, save for the bedrooms assigned to the fighters. A shrieking siren blared out, instructing every fighter to return to their rooms immediately.

Attention all contestants. Please immediately return to your rooms and wait until further notice.

As the building entered lockdown, guards poured into every hall were commotion had taken place. Patrols began to prowl each and every hall, ensuring that the contestants would return to their rooms.

Jonathan Giovanna would be struck with Osutin's attack, throwing him back to the floor, but the Challenger would slide back, avoiding Osutin's attack after he accidentally launched the corpse of Itsuki into the air.

Kujo would be left to react to Osutin's madness, that is, until the guards barged into the training hall. Armored head to toe, with riot helmets hiding their faces, and massive shields blocking any strikes. NAMMA Corp. had their own police force.

Meanwhile, Ash and Keara would find that the stairwell promptly stopped well before the top of the building. To be precise, the stairs stopped at Floor 89. Instead, they were greeted with two doors. One, leading into the halls that filled the floor, the other...

A black door with no windows, and a keycard scanner positioned by it.

More importantly, they sensed the patrol. There was no doubt in both their minds, they hadn't ever slipped away quietly. Someone was watching their every move.

The guards burst into the stairwell. These were different from the patrols they had spotted earlier. Instead of black riot armour, these particular few wore dark armour, with their faces masked by balaclavas blacker then night.

"Go to your rooms now!" They demanded, training their weapons onto the two gifted.

    IC: Kujo Takahashi

Kujo made a few swift movements to block the oaf Ostuin, the red hue still shining bright around Kujo. The young man grunted in great frustration as the fight came to an abrupt close. Guards rushed out with various weapons, flashing their pistols in their direction as Kujo slowly raised his hands. His thick brow in a deep seated V as he turned round still shirtless to the guards. In an instant the red hue around Kujo disappeared as he turned to view them all.

"Come on! We were just getting started!" he said in a frustrated tone but one that indicated he knew there was no real use arguing over the fact.

"Whatever, this total sucks..." he spat, storming off and finding his room again, entering it, ripping his remaining clothes off, and starting a hot shower. Feeling the hot drips of water like bullets against his tough skin. Slamming his fist against the wall, causing the tiling to crack and cut his hand.

They would be fights soon... he would be able to truly test himself then. They had just a small taste of the man's capabilities. Soon he thought. Soon.

    OOC: A fun combo with @greyjedi125 and @Master Vo'Un'Var

    IC Keara and Ash
    Ohhhh playtime

The guards, these were different. They weren’t of the simple patrols that the two of them could dodge easily, which only made Keara smile, finally a test, even a smaller one. She glanced at Ash, ”Time to get our first taste.” she replied.

Gathering her Qi, she leapt, separating her and Ash so that they were more able to fight at full power without affecting the other, as well as making the guards have to track them both. She landed, catlike, gripping the railing of the stairs near where the ceiling was. ”Back to our rooms? Why? Did someone do something naughty?” she teased.

Ash had had been eyeing these guards through a slitted gaze, however, hearing Keara's confidence caused him to grin.
If she was committed to this course of actions, so would he. In his mind he had resolved to a 'partnership' with her. It was a new and powerful experience, one which he was willing to explore to its natural conclusion, whatever that might be.

In the moment she leapt away from him, he'd understood. Two separate targets would split the guards attention. Indeed, this would be a good test for all of them.

Qi surged and filled Ash, sparks of electrical energy shot around the contour of the young Gifted as he too, lept in the opposite direction, widening the gap between himself and Keara as much as possible.

"How about a game of tag instead?" he put forth, with playful menace in his voice.

One of the guards shifted, as they nervously looked up at both the gifted, keeping their guns trained. However, some of them were shaking now.

"N-no! Return to your rooms now! This is an order from NAMMA Corporation! You are guests within this building!" The guard stammered, looking frantically between the two.

The alarms continued to blare, and the thunder of the crowd floors below could be heard from up here.

    Fear.

Ash knew the stench well, he could track it for miles. His gaze tracked the guard who stammered, his eyes glowing with intent. There would be no other indication after that. In a blink of an eye, he moved- a veritable lightning flash of motion. He'd seemed to disappear, then reappear before his target, so fast was his movement. Ash exploded with a powerful twin double side kick to the guards chest, enhanced by a discharge of electricity upon impact. The tremendous force of the blow was meant to send the guard sailing into his comrades, taking some down as well as knocking his target unconscious in the process. Ash was not not even worried about their trained weapons. Such armaments were to be ignored by well trained Gifted, as they posed a negligible threat at best.

Keara laughed in delight as Ash moved. Her gathered Qi was like a flash behind her eyes. She darted, slipping back and forth as she raced, running along the railing of the stairs. As she crossed over the railing, swift kicks, her boots crackling with lightning, aimed at the rifles and chests of the guards closest to her. A giggling laugh came from her as the guards flew back, hitting the stairwell wall behind them with grunts of pain.

She rolled as she hit the floor, coming up between one of the guards and his rifle, it now out of line and to her side. ”Boo!...” she called out with a laugh. ”So which of you guys have a keycard for that door, or should we just go through your pockets when you’re unconscious?” she asked before punching the guard hard, in the chest. ”Ahhh well, I’ll ask the next…”

The guards dropped faster than expected, and after Ash's and Keara's strikes against the patrol, one remained standing.

His eyes widened, his aim switching between Ash and Keara, his body shaking uncontrollably.

"S-stop now! As contestants of NAMMA's tournament, we request you return to your rooms instantly!" He yelled, the absurd amounts of anxiety in his voice pouring out with every word.

His shivering hands loosened, and the gun dropped from his hand, as he slowly backed against the wall behind him, his eyes wide in fear as he looked at Ash and Keara.

Keara’s eyes glowed as she checked the bodies, a wry smile on her face at the shaking of the remaining guard. She collected as many keycards as she could find, from those on the floor as she made her way toward the guard.

”Shhhh, calm down.” she teased as she approached him. ”You seem a smart one. Why have all of us been invited here?”

Glancing at Ash, she waved a hand at that guard, ”Nevermind, you’re a peon, they wouldn’t tell you. But...I’m sure you have a keycard to the levels we want. Now…” her whole form seemed to glow in that moment, ”Give us the passwords and keycard to reach them.”

Ash gave Keara a wicked grin as she interrogated the remaining guard. She was good at this, and he could tell she must have had a good level of training, so he did not interfere with her line of questioning.

As for himself, Ash had to fight the impulse of 'finishing' the downed guards. He was no longer an 'assassin', a 'shadow-killer', a 'shinobi', a 'death-agent' of the Kalimatra. That organization had been wiped-out; they no longer existed and neither did his ties to them, except for the 'invisible tattoo' that marked him - and his vow to avenge them. These guards were just doing their jobs, they were not his sworn enemy, they were not 'loose-ends'. Ash was 'free' and had to keep reminding himself of that simple fact.

None of the other guards were in any condition to oppose them, so Ash dialed down his powers until only a soft glow remained.

"I would do as she asks..." is all he said to the remaining guard, without even looking in his direction.

    The guard's head dipped down.

"I can't give you either of those." He muttered.

"You came here for the tournament, so please just... return to your rooms." He asked, looking up at the two before dashing for his gun, trying to grab it, shooting two shots at Ash and Keara respectively, before holding the gun up to his head and pulling the trigger.

Ash avoided the shots with his incredible reflexes, leaving after images of himself as he did so. He couldn't count the times he'd been shot at in his short lifetime. In an instant he read the situation, his speed and reflexes responding with the speed of thought. In a blink of an eye he'd grabbed the guard's hand and moved it at an angle, just in time for the gunfire to graze the guard's head, instead of blowing out his own brains. In that moment, Ash understood.

The Gifted delivered a hammer blow to the guard, knocking him out-cold. This guard knew a thing or two of honor and would not allow himself such deep shame while his fellows made a brave stance against the two Gifted. Ash decided to honor him for this. There was no reason for him to spill his own blood on their account.

"Well, at least you can search him now," he said to Keara with a shrug.

The guard’s eyes gave it away. Keara was already moving as soon as she saw them shift. She twisted and the hall filled with the shimmering images of her as well as Ash. The corner of her lips turned up in a small smile as she saw Ash blur past and stop the guard from committing suicide.

She nodded as he simply knocked the man out rather than killing him. And then chuckled at his statement. She ducked over the man, frisking him quickly. She came away with his keycard, and another.

Ash and Keara were able to retrieve the keycards, with a few groans of pain coming from the guard members writhing on the floor.

The black door sat there, keeping whatever floors that lurked above tucked away. Tempting Ash and Keara's curiosity as to what resided above.

The alarms continued to blare, and there was little time to be standing around.

Keara grinned at the black door. ”That’s where their true facility is, but I’d bet good money their best guards and traps are just inside that door. Ready to have some fun?” she asked as she approached the door.

Ash remained silent for a moment as his eyes stared at the black door, narrowing with intent. The answers he sought were behind the black barrier. Going through it meant he would have a chance to find out who wiped-out his brethren and why. This was the reason he had accepted the invitation for the Tournament in the first place.

    "Yes. I am ready."

Ash tried to deliver the words with neutrality, but couldn't help the tinge of dark intent that suffused them. In the end it didn't matter, he was here for the truth.

    "Let's go."
