For my page I needed a good picture of the FA-4 Pilot, the droid flying Count Dooku's Ship.
But there are no good pictures to be found, accept this one.

The droid can also be seen when in Episode II: when Anakin gets out of the airtaxi and meets the Senators.
And is also a consept picture on starwars.com hyperspace. (this was used to create the legs)

I have finished modeling and have started texturing.

Please let me know what you think.

Doesn't it show the droid going into the Solar Sailer? I think it's at the beginning of where Anakin and Obi-Wan come into the hangar.

    Thanks,

I put up some ref. pictures. When the droid enters the Solor Sailer it to far away to see anything. But together with the concept picture you can make out most of it. I also put up the droid in Episode III. You can also see on the last picture a similar droid only this one has real legs. Lets call him FA-5. When I have finished this droid, I will make him to.

    Looking good!

From wot I have seen of this fella (not got the EPII book tho) you have got him pretty bang on :)

The only thing I can see from the reference you posted is the curve on the back of his head needs to be more curved, in your model from the render posted it appears pretty angular (straight)?

    Hope this helps.

    Wiz.

I got that picture from Chronicles: The Prequels, it shows the legs pretty good.

Here is a close up of the head. I used the side picture from Episode II as ref.

    Darthviper107:
I have not seen this picture before. (bummer). Here is part of the ref picture I used for the legs.

I have almost finished with the texturing. I will finish the droid as I have modeled it. Then I will try to to modify it like your ref picture.

So I have finished with the texturing. I have changed the color of the droid so it does not look like the real thing. Lets call this version of the droid FA-3 the pre FA-4. When I find the time, and feel like it, I will update it to the ref picture of darthviper107 above. But please let me know what you think of this one.

What is with this book: "Chronicles: The Prequels". If I look at Amazon it is about $99 and Bol.com it is about 150 Euro. What is so special about this book? Does anybody know?

It's a 300 page coffee-table book packed with reference images. It's also not nearly as good as the classic trilogy Chronicles, which is a book I'd recommend to just about anybody.

The upperbody texturing is great. Something is bothering me about the lower body...can't put my finger on it though. Something about the treads. But either way, great work. Superb model of something I don't think anyone else has done yet.

It's really huge, it's got almost every character and vehicle you can think of, plus size comparisons, multiple views, all kinds of information. I got mine off of buy.com for like $89.99 and it really is worth it. Some pictures are a little small and not very helpful, but for what you can see, it's got some great images.

It is about Episodes 1, 2, and 3, most characters, ships, props, etc. I don't think it has any locations. If you wanted locations you could check out The Art of Star Wars which I believe has some top-view blueprint-like pictures of some of the sets, plus a bunch of other references. Star Wars: 365 Days is pretty good too, plus it talks about some of the techniques that ILM used for creating some of the shots.

Yes, I made it more yellow and copper than the FA-4 droid. I want to update it so it looks more like the real thing. Then I will make it the correct color.

Is the Droid that looks like this one, but with real legs also in the "Chronicles: The Prequels". Or does any one else have a good picture if this droid?
