ST Episode IX Title Discussion: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER

We don't have Lucas anyone who was happy to stop making films for the benefit of the story

I was thinking around 20 years till the next episode

 

The next trilogy will not be related to the Skywalker saga, that much has been confirmed. And if you ask me, it's better this way as they are screwing it up..

 

Impossible. Unthinkable. No way.

Why would they even do that? SW movies make money. Why would they wait 20 years? 6 or 7 years, maybe, if Episode IX, and the Solo and Obi-wan movies don't sell well enough and they need time to rethink their strategy...

They have killed the old cast, save Leia (and Carrie Fisher has died for real, which is even more final...). What would be the point of making this trilogy all about "killing the past" if they aren't going to use the brand new characters they have invested so much into? If they wait 20 years to make the new movie, is it going to be about a new Force prodigy appearing from nowhere while a middle aged Rey fades into obscurity?

Some people say RJ's new trilogy will be set in the past, but I'm not convinced... maybe it will be set in the future, a few years after Episode IX...

As I said, Luke is gone, Carrie Fisher is dead for real, and Rey, Poe and Finn aren't Skywalkers. If they kill Kylo Ren, then there is no more Skywalkers left, and the next trilogy won't have any of them even if it starts right where Episode IX ends...

 

I'm pretty sure what they meant is that the next saga will have all new characters in an all new time period with no episodic numbers. And it will be Rian Johnson's saga, not JJ's. I'm hoping he does a good job once he's not bound by previous works.

 

It's not like RJ has let the previous work to hinder him from doing whatever he wanted to do...

 

So...Star Wars: Episode IX: Cleaning Up the Skywalker Mess?

 

EP 7 was about Rey (light), EP 8 was about Luke (gray) ... maybe EP 9 will be about Kylo (dark)

Star Wars EP 9:
Spectre of the Darkside (parallel to EP 1, ends how it starts. Maybe Kylo learns to force projection. I dunno)
Reign of the First Order.
Conquest of the First Order.
Crusade of the Ren.

 

Episode IX: The Reign Falls
or Falling Reign or Fall of the Reign

 

Rey in the Rain of the Reign

 

Episode IX: Life of Ren

 

They should just keep Black Diamond.

 

The title should imply finality, telling us that this is the last movie in this saga. No ideas myself, however. "It all ends"?

Legacy of the Rebellion.

 

Watch the title be "Return of the Skywalker" which will then lead to months of speculation about if the titular Skywalker is Luke, Leia, Ben, Rey, or Anakin.
