Yeah I was thinking that in IX the factions will likely just be called The New Rebellion and The New Empire, with Kylo having the title of Emperor Ren.

Referring to A New Future Jedi Order, Rey as a Jedi, any hidden Jedi (Rey's mom), and some other big surprise reason.

 

I always thought A New Hope simply refers to Luke through out the move as he is The New Hope .
and the same for The Phantom Menace this simply refers to Darth Sidious .
and also for The Force Awakens refers to Rey as the force awakens in her .

as for EP9 "The Rebellion Reborn" fits your narrative..........

 

I made a few mistakes, but the general idea is more or less similar to that.

Luke is the "new hope" as soon as Obi Wan finds him again and sees he is ready to become a Jedi, but at the end of the movie he is still "the" hope, as they won a battle but not the war.

Rebellion Reborn does not fit my narrative, and I explain why: if I am correct (and I may very likely NOT be correct ), then we would expect that the dark side and the evil First Order to be defeated at the end of IX. Rebellion Reborn would not fit because the reason for a Rebellion to exist is that the First Order must still be a threat, which I expect it won't at the end of IX.

 

There's a new Star Wars Show today, is it too much to hope that...?

It is, isn't it? *sigh*

 

Okay, be completely honest everyone! How many of you have looked up synonyms for words like HOPE, NEW, LEGACY, FINAL, RISE, etc. only to find that words like these are better than their synonym counterparts?

Or is it just me?

"Fate of The Fathiers" (has a nice ring to it, but I'd be a bit worried about the film's plot if this is announced as the title.)

Star Wars 9 will be in principal photography through February 2019,

so it would be reasonable to assume a reveal around that time - perhaps as part of a press release commemorating the conclusion of filming.

As they did not announce anything for Dec 2020 I would not be surprised if they will announce SW 9+10.
JJ might do two movies at once.

 

Episode IX: Children of the Force

 

Maybe something like "The Last Hope", "The Final Hope", "The Legacy of the Force", "The Rise of the Rebels", or something along these lines.

What would make this a hundred times easier would be to know for sure the tone of the title, if it is grim or hopeful.
