ST Episode IX Wishlist

What are the things you are hoping, or not hoping, for in the next installment of the saga?

For me i have to go with:

1. Hopefully a small role from Luke as a force ghost.
2. Kylo Ren being more badass and power hungry.
3. Snoke SHOULDN'T return, he should be dead and gone now.

 

1. Rey Saberstaff.
2. Don't overbloat the movie with side plots, keep it focused to one or two like TFA.
3. Luke Forceghost of course.
4. Some of Finn and Rey duo sections.
5. More complex Rey and Kylo developments, along with an undoubtedly amazing lightsaber duel.
6. Knights of Ren

 

good one:

(1) More depth into Rey's story such that it wasn't 100% how Kylo described it
(2) A more confidant Kylo
(3) Dark side past and planet maybe
(4) Show us that Luke is much different as a ghost and more on the lines of what a wise Luke should be
(5) Knights of Ren-THIS 100 times
(6) At least a line about who/what Snoke was even if he was just an ancient dark sider dug up the leftover desperate Imperials
(7) Force children being sought by Kylo
(8) Kylo recruiting a young Force sensitive to the dark side with Rey trying to save him/her
(9) Poe becoming Chancellor, Finn becoming a general, Rey leading new Jedi Council
(10) LANDO!!!!!
(11) fitting and meaningful end to Leia's character and NOT passing away between movies
(12) Jungle planet

 

At this stage I think it's pointless (at least FOR ME) to wish for anything since they don't really listen to fans. It's up to each individual to decide whether they think that's a good thing or not.

Your wish list is now:
1. Wish to be unbanned by the time Episode IX is released.

 

1. Time jump
2. A story that actually concludes the entire nine-film saga
3. A Skywalker actually lives
4. Rey Nobody becomes Rey Random, with a fully-developed background (or if they want to go a related route, fine)
5. Give Kylo Ren an actual point/purpose
6. Don't focus on new characters, flesh out the ones already there
7. No love triangle of any sorts

Now, look at every point on this list, because they will do the opposite.

 

It would be cool for TKOR to know that it was actually Kylo that killed Snoke; because of this they also go after him also.

 

Uh, how is Poe qualified to be the leader of a Galactic government?

 

I like the majority of what you said. Particularly points 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10.

I think Poe, will need more gravitas before becoming Chancellor, but definitely like him as military leader of the rebellion.

I just want a finely written movie that fills plot holes and leads to a satisfactory conclusion to the trilogy.

 

My wish list in no particular order:

1. An awesome fully confident and competent Kylo. We need to see he is feared and practically unbeatable.

2. Rey needs to be fully trained and an explanation of her "Mary Sue" moments. Not saying it need to be explained by lineage, but some of her feats in TFA and TLJ after less than a few weeks of being discovered are laughable.---I know people will bring "increasing darkness and light to meet" but that is not good enough for me.

3. Luke needs to be seen as a Force ghost with enhanced potential. His death has to mean something. If he explains that his powers were enhanced in death then great. That being said, a line explaining to Rey that she must be the one to bring down Kylo would explain why he cannot get overly involved.

4. Leia's death will likely be offscreen. Likely mentioned in opening scroll. I am ok with that.

5. Lando cameo, or at the very least a mention of the character.

6. Origin of Snoke or at least an allusion to where he came from. Perhaps we see Kylo inhabiting his palace or raiding his archives, etc.

7. Knights of Ren should be a feared instrument of Kylo to bring terror against his enemies. Their defeat would be a central element in bringing down Kylo

8. A First Order throne world that needs to be conquered or infiltrated in final battle

9. Rey should be in the process or has recruited Jedi/Force sensitives to the cause, with an explanation to how they are different from prequel Jedi

10. Finn needs a meaningful role.

11. I like the idea of some fight/struggle between Rey and Kylo for the recruitment of Force sensitive children/people.

12. Some small moment that brings some elements of the Old Republic into canon. Would like to see Darth Revan mentioned in passing.

 

Essential:
1.) Time jump of at least a year (preferably three years or more).
2.) Rey's parentage fixed. (No one is from nowhere and no one is a nobody. Rey's experience in the mirror is something she doesn't actually understand)
3.) No Reylo.
4.) Someone living must carry the name or blood of a Skywalker at the end of Episode IX.
5.) No redemption for Kylo Ren.
6.) Luke's force ghost is more like the Luke we know from RoTJ then TLJ. The weight of the galaxy has been lifted off his shoulders after all.

Would be great but not 'Essential':
1.) If they 'fix' Rey's parentage but she isn't born from a force using family. Let her take up the name Skywalker.
2.) General Leia's allies in the Outer Rim turn out to be: The New Separatist Union, Mandalorians, and other minor powers.
3.) Kylo Ren is a bad Supreme Leader, thus allowing the Resistance/Rebellion to rapidly spiral out of control. Open warfare results.
4.) More forceusers... new Jedi and the Knights of Ren play a role.
5.) Luke's force ghost haunts both Rey and Kylo. He also explains why he wasn't there in person. (He has an X-wing but no astromech, ergo he can't leave Ahch-To).
6.) Rae Sloane appears as Grand Admiral of the First Order's Navy. Unlike Hux and Kylo... Rae Sloane is competent and lethal... maybe have her angle to usurp the usurper.

 

A star wars movie with heart, depth and soul please.

Wish number one, to supercede everything I'm about to list:

Do not listen to the fans, do not listen to the backlash. Keep doing what the storytellers in the storygroup decide.

With that said:

Ben Solo to be redeemed by Rey
Rey to ascend to the level of Jedi Master to complete her story arc.
More development of Rose and Finn and their relationship
A resolution to the civil conflict in the galaxy.
Poe and Rey to develop a relationship that helps both them lead and grow as individuals, whether together or not.

 

I'm with you on those two. Lol

 

Looking through this thread and others on the forum, it is mad to see how its pretty much a 50/50 divide on whether or not everyone wants Kylo to be redeemed or killed. Sums up the fandom really.

 

*A story that has pace and doesn't drag.
*The Force and Force-ghosts explored
*Luke being so powerful he can leave the netherworld and become flesh again, even if it is for a short time.
*No Kylo - Rey love story
*Poe getting a decent chunk of story instead of Finn now Phasma is dead.
*The real orchestrator behind the Dark Side revealed, making Snoke no more than a pawn like Kylo.
*A council of Force-ghosts (Yoda, Luke, Obi-Wan, Anakin and Qui-Gon) accepting the Force-ghost of Leia.

That's all I can think of for now.

This is a good thread, positive hopes for the future are a step forward. I wish for...

1. Luke being kind-hearted and powerful as a force ghost.
2. The continuation of the Skywalker family.
3. A magical feel-good vibe to the film.
4. More tone-downed, low-key humor.
5. An appearance from Lando.
6. A kiss between Rey & Finn.
7. Reylo to be debunked forever.
8. More teamwork and people working together.
9. Kylo ruling the First Order from Vader's castle on Mustafar, complete with a space crown & throne.
10. A HAPPY ENDING.

1. To make us look at The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi in a better light and of course be the worthy and best possibly conclusion to the 9 film saga.

Make it happen, JJ, the fate of the galaxy lies on your shoulders.

 

1. A few years time jump.
2. A moderately re-built resistance.
3. The return of black squadron.
4. Force ghost Luke
4. The return of the KOR
5. The growing romance of Finn and Rose
6. Vader's helmet and Anakin/Vader ghost(s)
7. Mustafar, Endor and Yavin IV
8. Rey builds a lightsaber pike and completes her training
9. Hux and Kylo's power struggle
10. Leia leaves the resistance to Poe and goes into retirement on some beautiful planet (instead of her death)
11. Adventures of Rey, Poe, Finn, Rose and BB-8.

 

1. Rey double bladed lightsaber
2. Anakin ghost speaking to Ben
3. More R2-D2 screen time and interactions by the 3 droids
4. Satisfying end that connects to the whole saga not just the trilogy
5. All ghosts appear in ending (Yoda, Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, Anakin, Luke, Leia, Ben?)
6. Ben is not killed off. Either redeemed or jailed
7. Big moment with Finn, gives speech to First Order and inspires other stormtroopers to rebel
8. Time gap at least 2 years
9. Leia dies in between not in the film
10. The group is together for the majority of the movie
11. At least one returning planet for the OT or PT
12. Kylo takes over Vaders castle on Mustarfar
13. Luke returns, redeems himself more and teaches Rey more

15. First Order is fully destroyed, they can't come back
16. Fix Rey's parents, the Skywalkers need to live on
