Someone in the movie forums is seriously theorizing that Rey is Abeloth, but still ignorant of her true origins...

Nice to see Hamill's been gaslit into the old "OT had a cohesive overall plan" chicanery.

Then again I've always thought the greatest asset Star Wars had was that instalments are in opposition with one another and not cut from the same cloth. Kershner's divergence from Lucas's whims are what makes Empire great - so too is how Johnson salvages Abrams vision of "delightful Star Wars" and makes it essential, challenging, fresh, etc.

Yeah they brought Maul back and all they did was him fighting Obi- Wan again and again. Not once did they do him v Anakin - major missed opportunity

True, because according to our new SW leaders (bless 'em for keeping it real and apolitical):

The first 6 Star Wars films featured no main characters as female Jedi, is that what ‘keeping it real and apolitical’ looks like?

Star Wars isnt apolitical, either. Throughout Legends we were given a far more progressive New Republic compared to the overtly fascist Empire. That was primarily expressed by the Empire's misogyny and human supremacist policies.

I don't think so. Maul solves the problem of giving Obi-Wan a major antagonist to overcome, rather than just sort of following Anakin's storylines along.

Also...I recall Maul doing a hell of a lot more than fighting Obi-Wan.

My local BBQ place made a Facebook post of Chewie and the porg a day or two after TLJ was released, inviting Star Wars fans to come celebrate the weekend.

Incidentally, if you're interested in what porg might actually taste like....
