Long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away . . .

    Episode X
    The End of Harmony

The Golden Age has lasted a hundred years. After the fall of the First Order and the Sith the Force has finally been in balance and the galaxy has prospered.

Peaceful the Third Republic, The Alliance of Free Systems and the independent Systems have co-existed. The Jedi Order was rebuilt step by step and though it is not yet having the numbers it once had, the Jedi have once more become the respected peacekeepers and guardians of the galaxy.

Then they started to vanish. Masters and Knights on routine missions never reported back and their presence was no longer felt in the Force. A series of attacks on outlying colonies followed. Many within the Republic believed these to be isolated tragedies. The Jedi Academy on Elyseum was attacked by an unknown power. Again this is considered a singular event. Those who warn of a coming war have been ignored so far.

Unknown to the Third Republic a massive Royal Armada has been created by the Free Worlds. Lead by the troops of the Tion Hegemony and it‘s ambitious Empress there are rumors hinting at a much darker source of the coming attack. Someone or something only called LEGION shall be the true master of the war.

Welcome to Episode X, a game set roughly a hundred years after Episode IX. Which means everybody we know from the movies is pretty much dead (though descendants might be around).

The game will feature multiple storylines in a time when war returns to the galaxy by the hands of the so far peaceful Alliance of Free Systems and their mysterious allies, the Legion.

Who will you be? Well, almost anyone. Almost. Jedi are around and their is of course a Third Republic now which contains most of the Core Worlds and Inner Rim with some members scattered throughout the galaxy. Their military response to this new threat will be a huge part of the game. There are countless independent systems and their existence has given birth to many fringe elements. They will have a role to play in the coming war, too. If they know it or not. Also there are the so-called Free Systems which includes all of the Gordian Reach, Tion Cluster, Corporate Sector all way down to the Centrality. They are the aggressors in this game as their Armada moves into Republic space on a mission of conquest. The Empress of Tion is their unofficial leader. Not everybody inside this alliance is probably a fan of war, but some will be fanatics. Their military is strict and brutal and was designed after the Empire of old.

Then there are the neutrals. Mandalorians are still around and have begun resettling their world. The Hutts still control Hutt Space as they always have and their agents are spread over the galaxy having more commercial interests in their minds.

Then we got the ordinary people of the galaxy. Those just caught up in this. What can they change? Oh well, must I remind you Farmboys can sometimes bring Empires to their knees?

Off limits is the Empress of Tion and the Legion itself, as I don't wanna ruin their mystery. If your character is a supporter of the Dark Side of the Force he will either be neutral or a candidate to join the Legion. I will allow one Co-GM to take up a member of the Legion in the game for a specific purpose.

All characters who survived The Fall of Elyseum are invited to return.

I will post a couple of Intro Posts over the next week to give you an idea what storylines I got in mind. Feel free to use them, or not.

Canon: For the purpose of the game I consider the Disney canon in effect with every bit of EU not contradicting it available, too. No other canon or fanon is binding for the game, also elements might be approved on an individual basis.

    The Dreaded Rules:

    1. GM Word is law
    2. No Godmodding of main characters and NPCs, but a certain liberty of writing is welcome. Create NPCs to interact with if you desire, within reasonable boundaries. No Godmodding of Legion members allowed.
    3. All CS to the GM for approval
    4. A maximum of two characters is allowed.
    5. If any player is absent for more than two weeks I reserve the right to move them along and if someone drops out I might take over their character.

Equipment: Blaster pistol, comm unit, vibro-dagger, a lot of weapons aboard her ship
    Personal Ship: The Nightflyer

The Force: Yes (but not very strong)
    Rank: Captain

Bio: The Romars had two occupations they were good at. Jedi and Smugglers. When Sera was a child the Order tested her and her cousin Kira for potential training. Kira was accepted and went to Elyseum to be trained in the Jedi arts, Sera was not accepted. She turned therefore to the other thing her family did. She became a smuggler. Trained by her aunt Sira Santos Romar, she is proud of her heritage going all the way back to Siri Romar, a legendary smuggler who lived 300 years ago.

She ran contraband since she was ten, learned to fly from the best and always had her aim firmly in sight. Become the best pilot in the while damned galaxy.

When she was 19 she had enough money to buy her own ship (with a little family loan) and acquired the Nightflyer. Proudly she had made a reputation since then as a reliable smuggler and rough girl to cross.

She is so brave one could call her reckless and she has a firm loyalty to her family and those who fly with her, but little else.

Sera knows how to drink, brawl and how to cut a deal and that is all she really needs to be happy. Always chasing the next good run and always seeing the riches of her often illegal trades on the horizon she feels like she has to live up to her families reputation as a great smuggler.

    Equipment:
His armour from he served as a bodyguard in the Outer Rim, a lightsaber with a silver blade, and a beskar bracer. The bracer is lightsaber resistant, but would not short them out.
Personal Ship: The Fool's Gamble, an old ship based of the Dynamic-class of old
    The Force: Yes
Rank: Arguably he is Knight level, or was, but skills atrophy is a thing.

Bio: Matthias Kya was descended from some ancient Null nobility, which dovetailed with that of Naboo and other minor worlds. Imagine the C-class nobility that wanted to be a full House but was never recognised by those above. It didn't matter much to him, but it did explain where the Force originated from. In the family tree, there were adherents of the light and the dark, but it still didn't matter to Matthias.

To him, the Force was a tool to be used, but not used for the gain of self. Committing himself to the aid of others, he became a bodyguard rather than a bounty hunter, using his funds to create an armour styled after that of the ancient Imperial guard, which attracted him to more affluent clients over the years - the ones who romanticised the Galactic Empire. But he was no weapon, he was merely a shield, and never did he allow a client to send him on a mission of blood or vengeance. This is why his lightsaber crystal reflected upon him and became silver; the colour of service.

That changed about a decade ago, when he lost track of a client and had to hitch a ride with the Fools Gamble, a crew of rogues and the like. Keeping himself to himself at first, he encountered a Force sensitive boy on Tatooine and took him, Li, under his wing. In time, as he came to inherit the freighter, he came to realise that the orphan carried a darkness within him, and Matthias realised he did not carry a strong enough light to nurture it. He passed Li to the care of Master Kran of Elyseum, though Li seemed to choose this specific teacher because he saw something in a fellow student - Arek. Bemused by the crush, he gave his blessing to his ward, who entered Elyseum as Li Kya.

Matthias could not have been prouder.

    Until now.

Now, his son is dead; he headed to Elyseum when he felt his son fall into violence and struggle - but he arrived too late. The attackers had left, and what they left... he discussed it with nobody. Matthias knew who to blame; the rumours of the Legion and the vanishing Jedi emerged too swiftly after Elyseum fell for it not to be connected.

Now Matthias has donned his armour anew, reconnected with the Force, and marches into the fray.

    To serve one more time.

    Name: Kar’Karina Bestat

    Age: 34
    Species: Human(Korunnai)
    Appearance:

    In Armor
    [IMG]
Equipment: Blaster assault rifle, two heavy blaster pistols, a Phrik katana, two vibroblades, and a distinct advanced helmet with a HUD interface and an assortment of visual options that include night vision, thermal, and long distance.
Personal Ship: The Risen Hazard: a black and mint green light freighter.
    The Force: Yes
Rank: Captain of the Third Republic

Bio: Born as the youngest of 3 sisters, Kar’Karina is of the Haruun Kal Royal Bestat family. The oldest, Galu, had already assumed the position of heir protector by Karina’s birth, while the middle child, Saylu, was positioned to be the next Queen. Kar’Karina’s birth was an accident, as the Bestat family typical limited itself to only 2 children in the main line: one heir to the throne and one heir protector. This put her father in an uncomfortable position. As he was about to cast the infant to the mainlands of Haruun Kal, which would kill the child due to the poisonous gases, an old seer approached the King and told him of ancient Bestat legend.

There would come a king who would have 3. 1 would be a Queen, a legendary Queen that would unite and lead the Haruun Kal in a time of great darkness in the galaxy. 1 would be a supremely strong force sensitive and protector who would become a Hakani-lei, or Protector of the Realm. The last would be a weapon; a soldier of no equal in the galaxy whose only purpose was to kill.

Keeping the legend to himself and the seer, the king decided to keep Karina and have the armed forces train her. The training was brutal for a young girl and it broke her several times. Yet, wanting to find purpose in her life while being a social outcast of her society(as the rest of society saw her as a bad omen, the dreaded and unwanted third child), Karina persisted and excelled in all forms of combat. Unusually so.

Her sister, the queen, used Karina’s skills at the age of 16 to assassinate several high ranking rival chieftains to unite the tribes under Bestat rule. At the celebration of the unification, instead of being congratulated and honored, as Karina expected, Saylu instead expelled Karina offworld, as she considered her sister a threat. So, Karina fled Haruun Kal; saying goodbye to Galu, who had been her only supporter, and her baby and infant nephews, Careem and Akeem, hoping that the work she had done would lead to the future heir and heir protector to have a more peaceful upbringing.

Karina’s skills as a soldier found her quick employment in the Third Republic. She joined the military and her actions and ability gained her selection to the Special Tactics Division. She has shown her abilities as an elite operative in the few engagements the Third Republic has had.

Kar’Karina is particularly skilled in close quarters and hand to hand combat, long range sniping, and an above average pilot. While Karina is Force sensitive, she was never formally trained. She uses it instinctively, to sense targets, steady her aim and strengthen her body, and has a heightened sense of when she is in danger. Consciously, she does a few parlor tricks in her apartment at times by lifting things and bringing them across the room with the Force, but that is all she is able to do.

Recently she was contacted by Galu who informed her that her young nephew, Akeem, had been at the site of Elyseum when it was attacked and was currently MIA.

    Age: 17
    Appearance:

    Equipment: A shortsword and lightsaber
    Force: Yes
    Rank: Apprentice
Bio: Akeem’nun’Bestat is a member of the Bestat royal family of Haruun Kal. Brother to the heir apparent, Careem’nun’Bestat, Akeem has been given the duty since birth of protecting the heir before his reign and during his reign in lifelong servitude to the royal family’s bloodline. Akeem, like most Haruun Kal, awakened his Force sensitivity at an early age and trained in the royal martial arts.

Akeem was sent to the Jedi to become stronger. Strong enough to protect his family and his people. He has a strong sense of justice and viewed becoming a Jedi as an honor that would put him in the best position to become the protector his people needed. Unfortunately, fate had other plans. Akeem is one of two survivors of an attack by the mysterious Legion on the Jedi Enclave on Elyseum. The attack awakened feelings within the young man that he had never sensed before. He is angry and resentful of his failings on Elyseum and from being overpowered by the adversaries he faced there. The dark emotions in him have placed the young Jedi on the edge between the light and the dark. His only focus is redemption through revenge for the fallen of Elyseum.

    Name:
    Tanee Bolyn
    Age: 14
Appearance: light brown hair, pale skin, athletic build, a bit short.
Equipment: Training saber, long staff that can separate into 2 parts. A small pouch that she fills with various sized rocks.
    The Force: Yes
    Rank: apprentice
Bio: Tanee is a strong-willed girl. She enjoyed her training and loved to push herself. She has many interests, as in piloting, art, and was experimenting in the different forms available. She wanted to develop her own form and dreamed of being picked by a master. ANY master, and moving on.

She was sparing with another, much older student, and she was winning. She was so excited, that she didn't notice how that student was reacting until she felt a sharp warning within the Force. She lept back wildly, as he lunged at her, the look on his face livid. She didn't understand, as he sliced at her. His blade went through her own blade, as she could feel the heat of the blade on her face.

When she woke up, she found she could no longer see. The healers told her that the condition could be temporary or permanent, but they were not sure. they urged her to continue with her training regardless. Dark, moody, and sullen were now her companions, but she focused intensity in her use of the Force. She can guide herself around without any help and she is determined to continue on to at least finish her training. If she stays within the Order, she has not decided just yet.

    UPDATE:
She survived The Fall of Elyseum, and her encounter with Canos. She now is trying to deal with the aftermath of the event, and prepare herself for the war she knows is coming.

He almost always wears a blaster pistol, a datapad, a comm unit, a slicer set and clothes concealing those items with him. He has a specialized combat suite for stealth operations. It is a rare and exotic piece of technology that includes a personal cloaking device.

    Personal Ship: The Sting

    The Force: No
Rank: Unknown, but sometimes referred to as Captain, officially none

Bio: The Third Republic has not learned much from the Empire and First Order, but it adapted one specific idea. The existence of secret agents known as "hands".

Some say they are five, some say they are two, rumors have it the system is so centralized actually nobody will ever know
for sure how many hands exist.

Those who know or even guess their existence have probably heard there is an entire planet in the deep core dedicated
To handpicking and training them, often among thousands of candidates.

If you would ask Jerec he would probably do a joke. Maybe he would very convincingly tell you he believes the whole thing about the hands is non-sense. His reasoning why it is would be perfect.

What he truly thinks or feels is so detached from his outside persona nobody knows. The Red Hand is single minded while keeping a broad mindset. He fanatically tries to fulfill his mission and tries to keep as much harm from the Third Republic as possible. What needs to be done will be done. Morale or legal concerns he leaves to others.

Whoever he was before, he now is simply the perfect spy.

    Appearance:

Equipment: Repair tools and comm unit
    The Force: Yes apparently
    Rank: None

    Bio:

Janis is a boy from Corsin, where he lives with his mother. She works in a local hospital which allows her to be treated for her chronical disease she is suffering from. It has gone worse lately and she is afraid of the time when she can't work anymore to provide for her son.

Janis therefore has done what he could to support her. He has acquired some skills in repairing stuff and has begun to add a few credits to their household by repairing droid for farmers and independent miners.

Something is wrong with him though. He tried to keep it a secret, but his mother recognized it over time. When bad things happen he feels them sometimes in advance. He felt a strong feeling of danger when a mine collapsed and also he felt it when his grandfather died days before he had a stroke. But that isn't all. When three older bullies tried to rob him he got angry and beat up all three of them. He suddenly was stronger and faster than he should have. His mother thinks he is strong in the force and she sees a chance for him to find a new home within the Jedi Order where he would be taken care of. Janis hates the idea of being separated from his mother though and has only hesistantly complied when she took what little saving she had to buy a passage to the Jedi Enclave on Elyseum so he could be tested for his ability as a Jedi.

Elyseum was actually better than expected. He found Master Kran to be a rather interesting guy, got fascinated by a young girl called Kira Romar, who showed him the force and in General found the world to be rather beautiful.

Then everything went wrong and he ended up in an attack by unknown Dark Jedi, fleeing with his ill mother and a blind Jedi who kept on insisting how important he was. He did not feel important. He had killed people as they were flying out and all he truly felt was tainted.

    The Force: No
Rank: Lieutenant (Former Wing Commander demoted)

    Bio:
Sid Antilles once had a great career in front of him. He was a ace-pilot and one of the finest T-Wing talents the Third Republic had to offer. He comes from a long line of Republic pilots going back all the way to the Rebellion. But he worked hard for his position and quickly raised through the ranks of the Third Republic Navy by leading his squadron on a rather successful pirate hunt in the outer systems.

Then the Sorgan Affair happened. The Chiss Ascendancy began expanding it's borders and aimed to commit a genocide on the native people of Sorgan, a neutral planet. The Third Republic choose to stay neutral. A Jedi Knight called Do Sal-Kran decided he would not follow this idea and with him a small fleet defected and remained on Sorgan against orders to protect the planet.

Sid Antilles and his squadron choose a side. They choose Kran and the fleet.

What followed were three months of intense fighting as they did all they could to slow down the Chiss fleet and their approach. The Eclipse Squadron fought hard and more than one of his squadron died in the cold void of space. Finally the Chiss gave up as casualties were too high.

When they returned to the Third Republic the Jedi and commanding officers took responsibility. Their Captain was kicked out. The Jedi send away to some backwater planet. All other ranking officers got demoted and send to the least meaningful commands available.

Since the Sid has been flying transports and lately has ended up on a mostly droid controlled Support Frigate called the Farstar IV. He and his partner have just delivered a load of equipment to some Jedi dig on Wayland in the free system and are returning to Republic space. Another boring mission in a life so ordinary Sid likes to drown it in a good cup of Corellian ale whenever he finds time to.

Lately this has changed though, as he was called on a routine mission to run a rescue run on a Jedi Academy on Elyseum. The mission managed to save to Jedi amidst a full blown offense on the Jedi Academy by an unknown force.

    The Force: No
Bio: Aryan was born on Nubia as the only child to Norin and Ashaiya Graul. His parents were the owners of a rather large mining and shipping company on the outskirts of Rordis City, which included several durasteel processing plants used in the production of starships. The company served as one of the many suppliers for the Third Republic, though its influence expanded to all reaches of the galaxy. As the sole heir, Aryan would one day have a stake in the company for his namesake alone, but his dreams and aspirations remained elsewhere...among the stars.

While he abided by his father’s wishes and enrolled at the University of Coruscant to study business and economics after completing secondary school, he was again tempted by his passions and joined the Republic Academy shortly after graduation.

As a member of the Republic military, Aryan served in the starfighter corps as a pilot, and through hard work and dedication rose to the rank of Commander. While most of his assignments involved escort duty and menial patrols, he did see some action through local border disputes or the occasional pirate attack. It wasn’t the most exciting existence, but it was better than the alternative – working for his father. He convinced himself to take the next step and become a commissioned officer.

But all of those hopes came to a crashing end when he was seriously wounded in a scuffle with pirates above Tralus. His injuries were extensive enough that he ended up losing his left leg, though the incident didn’t come without its own notable exceptions. After crash-landing on the planet, Aryan managed to survive 48 hours on the surface before he was finally rescued by a passing patrol. In addition, he succeeded in keeping his wounded partner alive as well. This act earned him the Medal of Bravery before being medically discharged from the service.

During his tenure in the military, Aryan met his wife, Lyzia Eross. They married a few years later and had two children together – their daughter, Jalynne, and a son, Arek. It was Lyz who served as Aryan’s lifeline and moral support during the intervening months following his injury. As a philanthropist, she actively traveled around to various worlds within the Republic to offer assistance and provide for those people in need. She also held rallies in notable cities to garner support for her cause. Aryan often accompanied her, and it was soon discovered that he had a real knack for interacting with the public and charming a crowd. His speeches were often engaging, and he soon gained the attention of a prominent politician working within the Senate – Deon of Kuat.

The Senator, who was a good friend of Aryan’s father, was infatuated by the young man’s passion and took him under his wing to help him learn the ropes. With Deon’s help, Aryan’s influence over the people remained strong. When the time was right, it was the Senator who ultimately pushed Graul to seek elected office at the local level, where he felt he would have the most immediate impact.

At the age of 33, Aryan won his first public election and earned his spot on the Nubian Ruling Council. He held this seat for four consecutive terms and helped see Nubia through a period of economic reform. He also spent this time building clout and networking among his peers to establish long-standing connections. Alongside the Senator of Kuat, he gained additional big-name proponents in the Senate’s inner circle, which quickly pushed him into the limelight. With this newfound fame, it wasn’t long before he became a victim of his own machinations.

    And he wanted more.

All of his hard work was in preparation for a run in the Senate.

With the incumbent Senator for Nubia nearing the end of her term, Aryan saw this as the perfect opportunity to take the next step. Again, relying on an endorsement from his old friend from Kuat, he secured the nomination for his party and won the election in a landslide victory to become the next Senator of Nubia.

Now serving his freshman term, Graul has adopted a public mask to remain favorable with the people – he is considered a charismatic and attractive politician, but he continues to obsess over the notion of success and how he can obtain the kind of influence to achieve greatness. He has lofty goals to become Chancellor, though he is also aware of his limitations. The world of politics is a dangerous game that requires small and measured steps to succeed. Aryan must bide his time and gain allies on this journey. That is why he continues to publicly support and promote Deon of Kuat and his policies. Graul views him as the key to his own ascension.

Both have recently come out to harshly criticize the current Chancellor for his apathy. They believe that the man is weak and incapable of dealing with conflict, particularly now that the Alliance of Free Systems has begun to display worrying signs of dissension.

But as tensions continue to mount, Aryan has received the terrible news that his son has perished in the incident at Elyseum. He had sent the boy there to hone and nurture his power – a power that Aryan secretly hoped to learn more about, but now those plans will be buried along with Arek, presumably lost.

In his grief, Aryan grows more cynical and angry, almost obsessive in his quest to hunt down those responsible for his son’s death. No one seems to know the real story about what happened at Elyseum, which only contributes to his sense of desperation and loss. The only lead he has comes from a whisper about something called the Legion.

However, Graul isn’t without his resources. He is a prominent Senator, after all.

Equipment: Utility belt with small holoprojectors for use in disguising himself. Hold out blaster and two concealed knives.
    Personal Ship: None
    The Force: Yes/No - No
    Rank:
    First mate

Bio: Following the collapse of the Empire, his ancestors moved from their home planet of Zolan. His great-grandfather had been an entrepreneur during the Empire’s occupation and was chosen democratically to represent the planet in the New Republic in the New Senate. He’d been a Populist - an idealist. Though the Senator was lost when Hosnian Prime was destroyed by the First Order, his family lived.

The impact of losing such a public figure rocked Clawdite society hard. Clawdites that saw the fall of the Empire as a way to access freedom and escape bigotry found that anger renewed in the First Order.

Jeorge’s grandfather was just a baby when his great-grandfather was assassinated along with other Senators. It fractured the family. Jeorge’s father had grown up with difficult family life, moving from place to place. In the shadow of his grandfather’s business acumen, Jeorge’s grandfather built a smuggling business that grew throughout the war with the First Order. When the Third Republic rose to power, the business shifted to the Free Systems and became one of the largest operations in the region.

Jeorge had been a protege to take over the family business but proved too quick to use his shapeshifting abilities in his youth and it got him into more trouble than the family was bargaining for. He was ousted from the business in his teens. He took any jobs that came - smuggling, assassination, grunt work, theft - as long as it paid. He’d also continued to hone his abilities to shapeshift.

Over a decade, he slowly infiltrated his own family under the guise of a Weequay thug. When the moment was right, he’d murdered his father and brother, then spent the next 3 years dismantling the entire business.

Once the authorities finally caught up with him, he dropped the persona and went back to being Jeorge Tryrena - a humble smuggler, wit, and general nobody.

He eventually caught the eye of Smuggler and Captain of the NightFlyer Sera Romar. She’d noticed his shapeshifting skills and had invited him on. He now serves as a First Mate - just trying to keep out of trouble, and away from his past.

    Species: Clawdite
    Appearance: Reptilian, 1.8 meters.
    Equipment: None of note
Personal Ship: - A simple luxury yacht
    The Force: Yes/No - N0
    Rank:
    Centrist Senator

Bio: Caardas can trace his political lineage back three generations to the first New Republic Clawdite Senator. Though his great-great-granduncle had been assassinated by the First Order, politics would become the family business. Great grandmother, aunts, uncles…There has been a Tyrena Senator for over a century.

Caardas is the latest in that storied line. A bit of a silver-spoon syndrome, but he likes to think that he can still “mingle” with the simple folk. As a Clawdite, he is aware of the stigma related to his species’ ability to shapeshift, and rarely does it. He finds it distasteful. Instead, he feels like he can be all things to all people by appealing to their personalities.

An established Senator, he is a Centrist, a party that has a history almost as long as his family. They had aligned themselves with the First Order - a portion of their history they try to minimize as much as possible. But, the core argument has been that had the New Republic been more militaristic, had they not thrown all caution to the wind in a bid to be different than the Empire, they would have been prepared for the First Order.

Caardas is in his second term as Senator. Caardas supports a strong military and has been a proponent of military spending, as well as R&D, care for service members, etc. His latest platform has been riding on the peace that the Third Republic has enjoyed, even mopping up piracy.

    Appearance: [IMG]

Equipment: Personal datapad, comlink, usually dresses smartly. Has a small hold out blaster and a collapsable baton if needed.

    Personal Ship: Yacht, the Electrostar

    The Force: No

    Rank: Private Investigator

    Bio:

Born on the wealthy planet of Tion, young Valerius was destined to have all the best things money could buy. Education, clothes, anything he wanted. The prosperity of Tion meant the best for its citizens.

A hundred years of peace meant that no one had to worry about war. His parents though had heard the stories about what had happened in the past. The Republic turning into the Empire, the New Republic fighting the First Order. And they hoped it would never happen again.

Valerius' parents were private investigators. Checking on the citizenry, always for a modest fee. Capturing spies and assassins, anyone they felt could do the citizenry of the Tion Cluster any harm. People having affairs, you name it they investigated it. They trained their son in the art of investigation, how to spot anything amiss, how to use his know-how and his brain to deduce puzzles.

Valerius became an excellent investigator and was well known for his no nonsense attitude. Traveling around the Cluster in the Electrostar, his personal yacht, he made sure to always leave a case solved. He even caught the attention of the royal court after foiling an assassination plot. He had his eye on a Princess of Liana, Tara Santhe at the time but also they had an affair she was adamant he could never be with her as he was not of the royal court.

As the Empress took over though his job became harder. Accidents seemed to be happening almost on a daily basis but when he asked about what was going on he was given evasive answers. Rumours were abound that the Tion Cluster had acquired a new fleet. That the drums of war were beginning to sound. That darkness could spread into the galaxy itself. Tara Santhe asked him for help in that situation, but out of broken ego he declined. Nevertheless he regretted it, but could not get hold of Tara anymore. Now he is summoned by her father to Lianna, the throne world of the family and one of the most powerful planets in the Tion Cluster.

    Name: Kilara Vasetti
    Age
    : 20
    Species: Human (Corellian)
    Appearance:

Equipment: Red Lightsaber, Robes, communication cube
Personal Ship: None, but can acquire a Legion transport whenever she needs one
    The Force: Yes
Rank: Apprentice (which equals Jedi Knight)

Bio: Kilara was born to the low levels of Corellia and had to make a living from stealing and small scams.

When she was thirteen she was trying to scam a young executive from the corporate sector. He fell in love with her and promised to take her off planet.

She took the passage, but escaped the guy at the first chance she had and stranded on Bonadan. Not great, but better than the rough Corellian underground. She quickly got into trouble with the local Ugnaughts and when she was cornered a mysterious woman appeared and quickly dispatched her attackers with a glowing red sword. A lightsaber.

The woman introduced herself as Rauda Paz. She was one of the inner circle of the Legion and offered Kilara a place among their ranks, if she survived the training.

Lured into the deal by the promise of power and her need to belong to something or someone Kilara was brought to the secret world of the Legion and trained by the ruthless masters and the droid instructor Pro-X. She showed great promise in both the force and the physical training and finally passed the trials by killing a fellow student.

Rauda Paz took her as her Apprentice, a rare honor among the Legion that allowed Kilara to actually keep her identity instead of joining the ranks of the Nameless, the soldiers of the Legion.

Rauda personally completed her training and send her to various smaller missions to forward the interests of the secretive organisation on many worlds. It was also Rauda who introduced her to Canos, the Master. From him she learned about the ancient enemy of the Legion, the Jedi Order. She also learned of the great plan. A war to end all wars. A claim of absolute galactic dominance. She felt intoxicated by this vision, imagining herself ruling a planet or system in the new Dark Empire her master would create.

Yet, doubts began to gnaw at her, as her missions turned darker. Assassinations of those who endangered the plan or the alliance of Canos and the Empress of Tion became the new goal of Rauda Paz.

When one of her assassinations on the fringes of the Third Republic drew the attention of a Jedi Master, she received the order to eliminate the threat. Kilara lay a trap for the man, that also allowed her to spare his young Padawan, a girl called Elysa Tarn. As the Master died he looked at her with absolute serenity. Such calmness in the face of death she had thought impossible. Kilara saw for the first time the enemy and he was a man at peace with himself. It impressed her deeply.

She withdrew more and more from her Master, who was busy preparing the coming war. Yet, when the war came Rauda Paz was in the center of it and Kilara was ordered to lead a hunting party to the planet Corsin. The target? Any Jedi she could find.

    Personal Ship: None
    The Force: Yes
    Rank: Jedi Knight

Bio: Sao never wanted to be a Jedi, or anything other as a matter of fact. All she ever wanted was to Rebel. Three Academies and four Masters tried to train her and all came to the same conclusion. She was one of the most promising students of her generation, but so stubborn and against any authority it made no sense to try and mold her into a Jedi.

Soa was almost proud the Jedi were ready to give up on her, also she also felt strangely at home in the order as she grew into a teenager.

The Grand Master had another idea for her education. He send Soa to Elyseum, the academy where the orders misfits ended up. There Master Kran met her rebellious nature with his grim and unmoving look. She felt she literally had found her Master. This was a Master who did not care about her wild and untamed nature. This was a Master who had a stronger will than her.

Soa made it through the academy and became a Padawan. In her heart it was always Master Kran who was her first and only Master. As a knight she helped the Third Republic fight corruption and criminal activities in the coreworlds. After years of long struggle she managed to dismantle the Anaxes-Cartel together with a special agent of the Republic called Jerec Egola. She and Jerec shared a short romantic time together, but it could not last as attachments were obviously forbidden to Jedi and Soa was actually quite intimidated by how easily the man could get under her skin.

Now she has received news that Elyseum has fallen and someone has killed her old Master. She has not even asked for permission to investigate the matter. Not the entirely Jedi Council could keep her from finding out who killed her Master.

    So it begins ...

Two days before the game begins ...

    Bandomeer, Tower of the Governor

The man took of his helmet and wiped a sweaty strain of hair from his face. Behind him stood his comrade, the Reaper who had slain so many on Elyseum, still in his full black armor. He knelt to the ground and let go of his helmet.

"You have failed out Master." The Hooded Woman in white cloaks said and her voice was an accusing whisper. Rauda Paz had personally trained the Reapers, as she had trained all assassins of the Legion. She considered it her personal failure when one of her own failed.

"Not one Jedi Apprentice you have slain, trapped under rubble like a foolish child hiding, while your brother here wiped out half the academy including his Master alone." Rauda stepped forward.

"I have failed, Master." The young man admitted. Rauda looked to the Reaper standing behind him and then to Kilara Vaseti, her Apprentice. Kilara had become her Apprentice and like the Inner Circle, the Apprentices of the Circle Members were allowed to identify themselves by their names. The Reapers had given up their names. Rauda gave the man before her his back now.

"You no longer deserve to be called Legion, Theron of Coruscant." She hissed and saw the man spasm, as he heard his name for the first time in many years.

"I understand." He only said. His lightsaber leaped into his hand and with tears of anger and fear he looked up to his Master.

Rauda ignored him as she passed him on her way out. The man held his lightsaber to his chest and when all three of his former comrades had left he ignited it straight through his heart.

Outside Rauda kept her face hidden under her hood and walked away from the failed Reaper with quick steps as the Dark Side consumed his screaming soul.

"The Master wishes for the war to begin now. So it shall begin. There are many Jedi on Corsin and they all have to die. You will hunt those Jedi who are hiding in the city, Kilara. Make sure none escape. You my friend will be rewarded for your success at Elyseum, you ..." Rauda turned to the Reaper. "You shall lead the Legion against the Jedi Academy on the planet. You will find Masters there. Knights. Padawans. Apprentices. More than enough to satisfy even your hunger." Rauda felt the satisfaction of the Reaper in the force. He was ready for this war. "You will also find those who escaped your wrath on Elyseum there."

The day of the attack ...

    Deep in the Neutral Zone

The neutral zone where half a dozen systems between the Third Republic and the Alliance of Free Systems. It contains few habits worlds and apart from the busy routes between the two galactic super-powers there was little activity. Especially in the Crombach nebula, which now revealed ship by ship the Tion Armada that prepared for the very purpose it had been build for.

The Grand Admiral watched the fleet unfold, battle groups align and waves part from each other. Every Order he had given was executed with an almost religious perfection. He watched the dance of the giant ships from the bridge of the command ship and his black mask betrayed no emotion. He was more than the commander of the forces, he had been it's architect. The Armada had been build for one purpose only and it was about to fulfill this purpose. Every man aboard would lay down his life for the great goal they had set out to achieve.

    Grand Admiral Tazareen

Another two men joined him there. One stood comfortably and confidently next to him. General Terasca was from a long line of military men going back all the way to the Empire of Old and the Old Republic. He had been the contribution of the Corporate Sector to the command structure and with the rapid expansion into the most unknown parts of the galaxy Terasca was probably the most experienced military commander in the galaxy.

    General Terasca

The Third had no such fancy references. He stood there all day, barely showing any reaction as if waiting ... a dark stature. Nobody had dared to speak to him and yet now he suddenly seemed awake as he moved forward slightly watching the fleet deployed. He had been referred to as Raan. Obviously he was a high ranking member of the Legion. Considering the respect the other members showed him, he was probably even their Master.

    Raan

"The High Council has confirmed the Empress Orders." The General said. He found the approach radical, but did not doubt the orders given. The only thing he doubted was how much influence the Dark Man had who had so much influence over this operation. The Grand Admiral nodded, taller than both other men he slowly turned to Raan.

"The Jedi Academy is yours, as you demanded. There might be Jedi in the city, so I need a few of your hunters there as well." The Grand Admiral said and turned to Terasca. "Coordinate and integrate the Legion." He turned to return to his tactical ops and Terasca turned after him.

"Grand Admiral, did you not forget something?" Terasca smiled. "The time of attack, we need to set a time when the attack begins." The General seemed hardly to be able to hide his joy about what he considered a humiliating show of lack of experience.

"I already have. It has begun." The Grand Admiral said and left. Now it was Raan smiling at Terasca as he turned to the window and saw the first battle group vanish in hyperspace. An hour. From here it took them an hour to reach Corsin.

    Corsin

The planet itself was a fortress world. The first world of the Third Republic at the fringe of the neutral zone and along the Hydian Way the planet was the transit zone for all goods that came through the route from the Free Systems.

It was the headquarter of the 2nd Defense Fleet of the Republic and 600 capital ships build a belt around the planet. In addition there were a thousand escort and support frigates and custom ships and hundreds of starfighters were on patrol duty day and night.

The planet itself held a full Garnison and a Jedi Academy of great reputation.

It was a stronghold of the Republic and center of military activity. It was the sanest planet in all the Third Republic. It was exactly the perfect place for the Legion to start a war.

Corsin, Jedi Academy, Training Council Room

Master Phash had watched Tanee for hours now, but something told Tanee not to talk. When she tried the Jedi Master had behaved as if watching a zoo animal that had done something interesting.

The journey to safety had been long, as the Demeter had been terribly slow.

After she had rushed with Janis to the hospital as Zari collapsed, she had quickly been found by the Jedi and brought back here.

Now Master Phash, the Head of the Corsin Jedi Academy and most respected Jedi Master, sat opposite of her in silence. The only other person Tanee could perceive was the Jedi near the door. The same woman that had brought her in.

"It was not her." Phash finally said and turned to a third presence, one entirely hidden from her until now.

Saleen snored and stepped out of the shadows. Not even a Master yet, the feline Jedi Investigator was almost legendary by now. She had been send here and that meant the Jedi Order took this most serious.

"I hoped it was not." The catlike creature hissed.

"No hidden agenda, no concealed special training." Master Phash sighed and turned to Tanee. It was Saleen who spoke though.

"Forgive us our suspicion, but we had to be sure. The last message we received from Master Kran was that he was seriously considering to not continue your training and shortly afterwards he got killed and you are among the very few survivors of the attack. It at least demanded a closer look." Master Phash looked at Saleen, but the catlike Jedi was known for directness bordering bluntness.

"How did you survive actually? You seem like a rather easy target. Emotionally strained and physically handicapped." Saleen hissed.

"What Knight Saleen means, is we are grateful for your survival, but clearly the force was with you that day. Yet, I feel something, you have been touched by something. Haven't you?" The Master asked.

    Corsin, Jedi Academy, The Quarters

Varik and Akeem had arrived on planet one and a half days ago, but had spend most of the time in a bacta tank in the medical wing. The blaster wound had mostly healed and so had Varik's many bruises and cuts. Yet, after they had received medical attention Varik had been transferred over night to Kamparas, the Jedi's biggest training center.

Akeem had remained mostly alone in secluded quarters day and night protected by Jedi guards. The Jedi clearly were concerned for his safety. It was the morning of the third day he woke up and felt the presence of another Jedi.

A woman stood in the central living room connecting six empty quarters. She held Master Kran's lightsaber in her hand and observed it.

Soa had not been doubted when she told the Jedi she was just passing through the Corsin system and Jedi Knoghts generally had no restriction to go anywhere, which was why she had entered the quarters without a guard wondering why. Now she felt Akeem, the young Korunnai who was one of the few survivors of Elyseum and a the last student of her now dead Master.

    Corsin, Garnison, Yard

The Garnison of Corsin held both the 117 mechanical infantry regiment and the 12th corp for special operations. To the latter belonged Kar'Karina Bestat who served in the Eclipse-Platoon, a special operations unit under the command of Shaya Ka'Raekus, a Twi'lek whose respect Karina had earned. Shaya walked over the inner yard of the Garnison and sat next to Kalina like any good conspirator would do.

"Akeem is alive." She said. Shaya had used her contacts among the TRI, the Third Republic Intelligence to find out what had happened on Elyseum. Especially if the relative of her comrade had made it out. He had. "Anyway, that one is a disturbing one. Remember the Red Band Pirates last year? Where everyone was whiny because of their access to some old ships and droids? These guys where a whole different level. Like the stuff we got. Saw the sensor data. That was not an attack on a Jedi Enclave, this looked like these guys were about to start a war. Coordinated attack, troops, 2000 meter high super structures in space. The whole raider rumor is bantha-spit. These guys were total pros." Shaya sighed. "These guys were trained for war."

Karina felt something, a presence of sorts entering the Garnison and the gates slided down at the far end of the Garnison.

Matthias Kya was faced by two troopers raising arms, but more out of protocol. They did not truly expect an attack. "This is a military ground, civilians are not allowed." The higher ranking of both said.

"He is my guest." The voice came from the side and Colonel Zara Do'Vor stepped out of the shadows. The colonel of Republic intelligence was wearing his black uniform. He greeted Matthias with a nod. They had dealt numerous times with each other in the past, bit never ended up on different sides. Not killing each other for free decades was the closest thing to friendship they had in their business.

"Kya. Let us walk." He said and the soldiers stepped back. "I am sorry for your loss." He said as they stepped away from the soldiers. "We got a team on Elyseum and have recovered your son's body. It was a damned slaughter. They left little of the whole Enclave. Killed the Master and from what I hear Master Kran was not easy to kill." He sighed. "Most of his Apprentices, too. We recovered another body. Arek Graul. A young Jedi who ... well, look for yourself." He looked around and felt unwatched enough to open a small hologram. The boy had been cut into two, shoulder to hip. The wound had cauterized immediately. "That is a lightsaber wound, isn't it?" Vor asked and hoped the old man would tell him it was not. Obviously it was though.

The Devaronian Vatek smiled at the two Smugglers. He had asked many smugglers to meet, but only Romar had agreed to come and brought her First Mate Jeorge Tyrena with her.

"What I have is more than just a job, Romar. I believe I have found ... you have run between the Free Worlds and the Hutts, the Independent planets and the Free Worlds. Why do we all stay away from the Core? That is where the money is right? But there is no way through the security zones. Bored Republic patrols at every jump point. I know, I know." He grinned broadly. "What if there was a way around them? Hm? I am serious. What if there was a route nobody knew anymore that connected the Outer Rim and the Core directly?" He looked at her First Mate. "There is a path that is unknown to anybody but those who are dead. But I know where we can find it!" He grinned again as Devaronians did so often.

    Corsin, Hospital near Spaceport

Zari had collapsed the moment she had set foot on Corsin. The medical personal had rushed them to the hospital, where Janis had not moved from her side.

He had seen the looks exchanged by the doctors though. This was not a case for them, it was about easing her pain. He had been warned she would probably not wake up again. After twenty-four hours without sleep Janis had got himself a cup of Thanalian tea and when he returned to the room he saw a man leaning over the bed of his mother. He was wearing spacers clothing, but at his side there was a cylindrical object dangling Janis would recognize now everywhere in the galaxy.

His mother was awake and whispering to the man who smiled gently down at her and held her hand. "The Jedi did not wanted him. Will you take care of him? I don't want to leave him alone in this galaxy." The man nodded.

"I promise." He said and smiling she closed her eyes again. The man turned his head slightly and then turned to Janis.

"You must be Janis." He smiled.

Admiral Eboin Farlander was the longest serving and most respected among the military commanders of the Third Republic Navy. He had hunted and neutralized numerous pirate threats and had coordinated some of the most ambitious humanitarian missions in the history of the galaxy. Being in a room with him would be an honor to most, but today his brows moved together and green holograms all around him showed sensor data from the Farstar IV, that had been taken from Elyseum.

"Lieutenant Antilles, that was quite a bit of flying you did there on Taranaun IV. The Jedi Order expressed their gratitude for your swift and decisive action." He walked past the hologram of the two giant ships. That one was what seemed to trouble him most.

"For raiders these guys had incredible advanced technology. None of which looks terribly familiar. But how did they acquire such ships?" He sighed. "Most unusual for outlaws to have access to warships. Unheard of even." He said.

"Nothing was taken from the academy, Sir." Taqbar, his Mon Calamari aide proclaimed. He had obviously doubt this were raiders. "Their strategy seemed to aim at killing the Jedi learners."

The Admiral turned to Antilles. "You did not follow protocol and hailed them to ask them to surrender, did you?" He asked the pilot.

    Chandrila

The planet had a long history with the Old Republic and has once been a center of Rebel support. When the Third Republic was formed, after the fall of the First Order, it had been a natural choice to establish the new Senate.

It had served the New Republic in that function before, but being the Government Seat for a hundred years had shaped the planet profoundly. Above the Capital of Hanna the Republics was floating, a giant cloud city that held the Senate and High Command of the Republic. In it's orbit most of the 1st Fleet of the Republic, called the Core-Fleet, was based.

Republica, Terrace of the Chancellors Tower

It was a mild day and that was probably no coincidence as the Chancellor's habit to influence the Chandrila weather control was infamous by now.

The reception was one of many the Chancellor held on the vast terraces of his personal tower, yet today was one with a rare justification.

Admiral Seron Madine had taken his oath and had become the youngest Admiral in the Republic history at 35. The reception was mostly held to congratulate him on this achievement and show the chancellor's support for one of the most controversial decisions in the Third Republic's military history.

Madine was considered a prodigy who had beaten seasoned Admirals at the yearly Galactic Battleground Games since his early twenties. That could hardly mask the fact he had ascended very quickly through the ranks thanks to his good family name and the political connections of his mother, the Senator Ruria Madine.

"Barely a child." Senator Sedos Tavon of Corellia hissed to Caardas Tyrena as the two men stood aside from the elected crowd of Senators, Aides and high-ranking military officers. They both were centrists and therefore part of the political party that might be rather influential in electing the next Chancellor. The current head-of-state had made no friends among them by putting his weight behind the young Admiral's selection. "One engagement in the Mestra intervention and no experience with administration. This is a travesty." The Senator sighed and looked over to today's guests of honor.

Jakat and Zerine Tazore, King and Queen of Pantora from the Free Systems had negotiated substantive tax privileges for ore deliveries all week and had been courted by many Senators.

The King nodded to Caardas who had helped Corellian shipyards gain a substantive advantage over Mon Calamari and Kuat when it came to the supply of ores. It would lend them important political capital in next years elections and the centrists dream to provide a Chancellor of their faction had come closer to reality.

"You heard Aryan Graul lost his son in the recent attack on Elyseum? I wonder what they will do when the Chancellor tried to bury that one." Tavon gave Caardas a smile. He was a ruthless politician with little empathy for others. It probably made him so good at this.

"What are you doing here?" The female voice was familiar, but there was probably only one creature on Chandrila that could sneak up on Jerec Egola, who was dressed in the black gala-uniform of Republic Intelligence. It was Nian, the Head of Intelligence, also even here few people knew her face. "I was not informed of an operation by the Hands." She stepped next to Jerec. Of course this was not an official operation, but Egola had followed a hint from a reliable source on Bakura that an assassin had been hired and was present today. So far none of the guests had revealed to be anything but a posh politician. Only seven guests Egola had not clearly identified yet.

    Approaching the Republica Station

The Senators Deon of Kuat and Aryan Graul were late to the reception. That was intentional, as the bulky Deon had made a habit of subtly hinting his lack of respect for the Chancellor's never-ending summer parties. Their shuttle passed the security perimeter. Both Senators preferred to have their quarters on the planet itself instead of the Nexu-nest that was the Republica Skycity.

"The investigation into the death of your son is ongoing, but the Jedi have the lead now. The 2nd fleet seems desperate to declare it an attack by raiders, but from what my sources could find out the two soldiers who saved the Jedi Apprentices who made it out of there were strongly suggesting this was a military operation." Deon sighed and folded his arms as they entered the landing bay. "We must urge the centrists to support a Senate investigation. Otherwise we might never find out what happened to your son." Deon knew the Senate like no other, having served as the powerful representative of Kuat for almost thirty years now. Many saw in him the natural choice as the next chancellor, but the rivalry between his faction and the Corellian lead centrist movement had so far kept him from ascending to the Third Repiblic's highest office. "Maybe if you reach out to the council the Jedi will reveal what they know. They always treasured the sacrifice of you allowing your son to be trained." Truth was they were in the dark about the force that had attacked Elyseum and had cost a Jedi Master and most of his students their lives, including young Arek.

For months now Jedi Masters and Knights outside Republic space had gone missing. This was only the latest and most prominent event in a chain of mysterious ongoings.

The two Senators left their shuttle that had been allowed into the Chancellor's private hangar and made their way to the turbo lift that would bring them to the terrace.

    Lianna

The peaceful face of Lianna was hiding the fact the planet housed one of the biggest military conglomerates in the galaxies history, Sinear Fleet Systems. It was also home of House Santhe, a family with deep roots in the Empire of old that had rised to great power within the Free Systems. Second probably only to the royal family of Tion the family held great influence within the Free Systems and entertained a fierce but so far friendly rivalry with the corporate sector.

    The Garden of House Santhe

The palace that the Santhe Family called it's home was fabled for it's beauty and it kept the promise. Filled with exotic plants it radiated a peacefulness that was a strong contrast to the ambitious reputation of it's owner.

Valerius Vector had been escorted here by the white armored security forces of the family that still reminded of the legendary stormtroopers of old. He was not allowed inside, obviously. No commoner ever was if he had not sworn eternal fealty to the family.

To his surprise it was not the father of Princess Tara Santhe who greeted him, but her brother, the crown prince Tesmon Santhe.

"Greetings Vector and my families gratefulness to answer our request at such short notice." He greeted his guest and used the stick to walk a few steps towards the guest offering his hand. The damaged leg was a remainder of a failed assassination event a year earlier.

"My father needs to attend urgent business on Tion, so he asked me to discuss the matter at hand." He smiled. "Shall we walk?" He said and it was obviously painful and therefore important for him to do so.

"My sister was close to you I understand." He began the conversation. "A man like you has certainly become aware of her vanishing by now. We are most concerned about her sudden disappearance, I assure you."

Vatek had been lucky they had needed a break, otherwise she would have not responded to his summoning. Had she known he was going to tell them a space fairy tale she would certainly not have responded.

"The galaxy has been mapped for millennia. Maybe in the Outer Rims find a short-cut here and there. In Wild Space you can still find new routes, yeah. But a secret route into the core? This is nonsense, Vatek. The Third Republic would know. The First Order or Empire would have known. How should that work? Hm? Is there a large backdoor in space and you found the key? Please tell me you have more than this nonsense to offer. We came a long way and fuel is getting expensive, you know?" She folded her arms and looked at Jeorge. He had been her first mate now for a while and having a shapechanger on board had always been useful. He would not buy this anymore than she did probably. Maybe they could take up a legal cargo run to cover their costs. Otherwise she had just wasted her credits.

    Akeem’nun’Bestat
    -Quarters, Jedi Academy, Corsin

    40..41..42..43..44

Beads of sweat formed on Akeem’s brow. Every sit-up. Every push-up, squat, and handstand. Was going towards building his body back up.

    50…51…52…53

Three days. It had been three days since the attack on Elyseum and he had spent a large amount of that time in a bacta tank, recovering from the blaster wound to his side. He could barely feel it at all not, especially when he remembered the searing pain that had handicapped him on Elyseum. He could not afford to spend anymore time out of practice.

The Jedi of Corsin had kept him under tight guard. He had not been able to complain until he was recovered. They had a point. He was one of the few that had faced their new foe. Felt their presence and seen their power. No doubt, they would have more questions and there would likely be talk of assigning him to a new master. This would all come in time and time was not a luxury that the Jedi could afford. Akeem had been thinking since his arrival on Corsin. The opponents they faced on Elyseum were Force-Sensitives and wielded lightsabers. The soldiers were extremely well-trained and had advanced, weapons grade equipment. These observations led the young man to easily deduce that these were the first drums of a coming war. There would be more attacks, more battles, and more opportunities for him to sharpen his vengeance on his enemies.

    Hmm…

He sensed her, but not as quickly as he should have.

Akeem stood and grabbed his shortsword and a shirt from his nightstand. He pulled it over his head as he made his way to the central living room. There, stood a female Jedi Knight approximately ten years or so his senior. Holding Kran’s lightsaber.

    No….Not Kran’s…Not anymore.

He stopped a few feet from her and stared at her, solemnly.

That” He gently nodded towards the lightsaber. “belongs to me, Kiisa.

    Janis Callisto
    Hospital on Corsin

He had known this day was coming, yet after the horrors of Elyseum it was just too much to bare. For a day he had just been sitting there, crying and waiting for his mother to wake up and tell him everything was gonna be alright.

She had not woken up and the Doctors had carefully prepared him she probably never would.
Yet, when he returned to the room after his brief absence a man stood over her and promised he would take care of Janis. He did not wanted anyone to take care of him, he wanted her to stay.

The man looked like some sort of adventurer, wearing clothes that might have been a uniform once. He was wearing a lightsaber though. Janis eyes fell on it and he wondered if his mother had made one desperate attempt for him to be trained as a Jedi. If that was her dying with Janis did not know if he could fulfill it. Violence and death had been all the Jedi had brought him. He had killed people on Elyseum. He had not seen them die, but when he fired on this ship trying to keep them from escaping he had fired back and killed everyone on board.

He never wanted to kill again.

He did not wanted to be Jedi and fight.

Not for good, not for anything.

The man seemed to become aware of him and turned. If he was a Jedi he probably felt him, like Kira had felt him and Master Kran. Because he was so strong in that thing they called the force he seemed only easier to detect. He did think of leaving Corsin behind. After all it was home to many Jedi and all he wanted was to get away as far as possible from them.

Now he stood in front of a man who looked like a very unusual Jedi and was told he had to be Janis.

"Janis Callisto, yes that is me. You seem to know my mother already. May I ask who you are?" Janis demanded and folded his arms. Whoever the man was, he wanted to be alone with his mother.

    Tanee Bolyn
Corsin, Jedi Academy, Training Council Room

Tanee stifled the urge to sigh deeply, as she sat in the Council chambers. She had been here for hours now. She had been given no time to say anything to Janis who had rushed off with his mother to the hospital. The woman, Zari had gotten sicker during the slow flight home and had collapsed as soon as they had arrived. But as soon as Tanee had arrived at the hospital, there were Jedi waiting for her, and they quickly ushered her back to the Academy. REALLY quick. And now, she sat for several hours now. She could feel Master Phash staring her down, but not asking any questions. The feeling within the Force convinced her to stay quiet.

    So there they sat.

There was another person, the one who brought her to the chambers was here, but she said nothing either. Tanee felt as if she would go mad, if they stayed silent for much longer. It was pure willpower, that she sat still, wondering if anyone else had escaped when Master Phash finally broke the long silence.

"It was not her." Phash finally said and turned to speak to another? Tanee tilted her head sightly as another voice chimed in.

"I hoped it was not." The catlike creature hissed. Not feeling the presence of the other made her sway slightly, but it made her wonder why she had been hidden? Hoped? Tanee felt as if she recognized the voice. Not many feline Jedi that she knew of. Wasn't she some sort of Investigator?

"No hidden agenda, no concealed special training." Master Phash sighed and turned to Tanee.

Wait, what?! They thought that SHE had something to do with it. A brief look of shock went across her face before she quickly wiped it away. Tanee couldn't believe it! Even though she might have felt a bit unhappy, that was a long distance from mass murder! Before Tanee could even begin to collect her thoughts, Saleen spoke.

"Forgive us our suspicion, but we had to be sure. The last message we received from Master Kran was that he was seriously considering to not continue your training and shortly afterward he got killed and you are among the very few survivors of the attack. It at least demanded a closer look."

'....' Tanee's mind went blank. Master Kran was actually considering to end her training? She felt her mind had suddenly gone down a very long tunnel. She felt numb. Tanee pushed the thoughts away, as she remembered who she was sitting in front of. But they had also mentioned other survivors. That made her feel a bit better. She was glad to hear that. The Knight spoke once more.

"How did you survive actually? You seem like a rather easy target. Emotionally strained and physically handicapped." Saleen hissed.

Emotionally strained.. EMOTIONALLY STRAINED!!!! At 14 she had survived the slaughter from the enclave, and felt so much death, and pain, and....and. Her face went neutral as if a switch had clicked in her mind. No. She was not going down that path. The woman was right. Tanee had been a target of sorts. Tanee felt a strange calmness come over her. No. She would survive this. She turned her head, as Master Phash spoke to her.

"What Knight Saleen means, is we are grateful for your survival, but clearly the force was with you that day. Yet, I feel something, you have been touched by something. Haven't you?" The Master asked.

Tanee realized for that for the first time, they were actually ASKING her a question as opposed to trying to pry some hidden agenda from her. She gave a sad smile.

"Touched? That could be a way to put it, Master." Tanee spoke slowly, and calmly as she stared directly at him. "While I was in the gardens practicing with my staff, I was approached by someone." Tanee tilted her head slightly. "I felt as if he knew Master Kran, and he asked me about my injury, and seemed to know what had happened. I didnt think anything of it, and he left. But later on during the day, he spoke to me again. But this time, it was different." Tanee gestured with her hand. "It was after the boy and his mother arrived, and after Master Kran's lesson. He was unlike any other I have encountered. He seemed to have the power to draw himself away from the rest of the Force. When he spoke, I could not feel what was going on around me, as if the entire planet had stilled." Tanee crossed her arms, and inhaled deeply, letting the Force calm her before she continued. "He was Dark. Malevolent. And he is trained to hide in the Force. He is..is almost like a hole in the Force." Tanee looked down. "So powerful. He was interested in the boy for some reason. Tried to offer me power. Something about claiming destiny, and it was meant to happen kind of stuff.." Tanee tugged at her robes. "He was in my mind, and I could not keep him out. So much pain. Taunting, saying that death was inevitable for the Jedi. All of us."

"Right afterwards, was when Master Kran was killed. By the time I reached the building, the attack started. The power had died. It grew confusing. Someone was questioning ProXe. Everybody started to separate, I didn't hear all of what was going on. So I thought I would help the mother and son reach their ship since it seemed so interested in them. I could at least help them. By the time I reached them and got them to their ship, I could not sense anyone else. Too much.. interference? All I felt was the fear, confusion and panic, and a flood of darkness. And it was strong in the Force."

Tanee sighed deeply then. "And I remember two other things. He mentioned something called Leigon, and his name." Tanee wiped her eyes. She suddenly felt very tired.

    "He called himself Canos."

So there. She told them. If they were going to throw her out, now was their chance. She didn't care what would happen to her now. She knew that no matter what they decided, she would be involved. Though she might not be able to see, she still had the Force.

    Soa Sten
Quarters in the Jedi Academy on Corsin

The boy was called Akeem and was originally from Haruun Kal. A Korunnai, as the force sensitive people of the planet were called. They were warriors, not peacekeepers. At least they had send him to learn the Jedi ways.

"No, it is not." She said in thoughts and lay the very familiar weapon back to the central table. A Jedi could only claim a lightsaber his if he created it. Something he clearly had to learn.

Soa felt his anger. His need for retribution for the humiliation he had suffered at Elyseum. She understood his feelings. Kran had been her Master, too. The closest thing to a father she had ever had, had died on Elyseum with most of his students. She too felt the urge to make those responsible pay for this crime, but her Jedi training allowed her to control such feelings.

"You must be Akeem. I sense much anger in you, much shame. Feelings a Jedi does not allow himself to have. Do you know why?" She asked and stepped forward to the boy.

What had happened to him? What enemy had he faced on that tiny little planet outside the borders of the Third Republic?

Soa remembered Elyseum well, with the green fields and wonderful garden surrounding the Jedi Academy. She remembered training to levitate things under the trees. She remembered fighting with Master Kran, letting out all her anger and yet bested easily by the elder man. There she had found peace and the will to take the path of the Jedi and accept it as her own. More than her later Masters Kran had understood her. It was obvious why this boy was send to the academy. In many ways he was not so unlike her in her younger days. Full of anger and the need to proof himself, but still unfamiliar with the ways of the force.

The Council had always considered Elyseum an exile for the rebellious old Jedi Master who ran it, bit the truth was when a Jedi learner was too much for their ordinary masters to handle they send them to Kran. Because Kran had understood them on a deeper level.

"My name is Soa Sten, I am here to find out who killed those Jedi on Elyseum."

She did not claim the Council send her, but implied it. Truth was the Jedi Council had not gotten any update from her. They were probably still thinking she was somewhere in the core hunting criminals.

    IC: Matthias Kya
    Corsin, with Colonel Zara Do'Vor

The energy of a military world poised on the edge of preparedness had a life of its own, and with no real war having occurred in the last century, it had an exuberance to it that was catching; soldiers and pilots and officers had a skip in their step, a real pride in their accomplishments and gathered might.

It was useful, because it kept him walking, when all he wanted to do was rest.

Because Li was dead, and he felt every ache in his body, notwithstanding that for his age his joints were relatively supple, what with his training regime and line of work. He almost ignored the guards who raised their weapons at him, such was his inward focus, but the Kel'Dor Colonel Zara Do'Vor intervened, and ushered him off to the side.

"I am sorry for your loss."

A grunted response; there was only so much he could add.

"We got a team on Elyseum and have recovered your son's body. It was a damned slaughter. They left little of the whole Enclave. Killed the Master and from what I hear Master Kran was not easy to kill."
Zara sighed. "Most of his Apprentices, too. We recovered another body. Arek Graul. A young Jedi who ... well, look for yourself." He looked around and felt unwatched enough to open a small hologram, which Matthias could only stare at. The boy had been cut into two, shoulder to hip. The wound had cauterized immediately. "That is a lightsaber wound, isn't it?"

As a bodyguard, Matthias had been called to all manner of autopsy to confirm that a kill was his, or even to investigate failed hits on a client. This was no different.

But, it was also so different.

Arek Graul was the boy his son had taken a fancy to, and there he was, cut in two. Matthias knew he was the son of a politician of some kind, though until something formal emerged he had no need to investigate - if he paid attention to every interest his son had he'd been researching things forever, such is the quizzical nature of his son.

    Was.

    Was.

"Yes," he said automatically, chewing over the words. He needed to ask, and to know, to stoke the anger in his furnace of a heart.

    "Can you show me Li?"

He knew, intellectually, that a lightsaber meant a Jedi - or some other rogue sect - and there hadn't been a major Dark Jedi incident for decades, if not a century. Since the Old Wars, the ones taught in history books against the Sith. That he should ask if the Jedi Council knew about this, what the Republic's official response, and whether they had any leads.

But first he needed to see his son again.

He raised the lightsaber from the table and it flew to his hand. He turned it over in his hand before clipping it to his belt. Akeem could feel her probing him through the Force; digging into his emotions and feelings. It was subtle, but he was getting better at detecting this sensation. It seemed that the Jedi enjoyed searching the depths of others. Akeem did not try to block her or conceal his feelings. He had no reason to. He was not ashamed of the feelings that Elyseum had brought out of him; on the contrary, he knew that they were what would fuel him in the coming days.

"You must be Akeem. I sense much anger in you, much shame. Feelings a Jedi does not allow himself to have. Do you know why?"

Jedi. He had seen on Elyseum the other apprentices. He had heard of the way they spoke of being in control and at peace. It had only helped propel them to death far ahead of their time. His eyes shifted back to the Jedi Knight as he walked past her to the table and leaned against it. He spoke with his arms folded.

“I am a Jedi insofar as it helps me protect people. I do not care what the rest of you allow yourselves to feel.”

Akeem was resolved. He had once had an admiration for the Jedi. On Haruun Kal, he had heard the stories of the legendary warriors that Jedi had been. The power they had been able to wield and the protectors they had become. That was why he had elected to go off to join them. He had to become stronger, like Galu, so that he could perform as his brother’s protector. Yet, all he had been exposed to were peaceful monks who were not prepared for battle.

Their deaths. The recent feeling of Elysa fading away in the Force.

    It still hurt him.

"My name is Soa Sten, I am here to find out who killed those Jedi on Elyseum."

“You think because I was there that I would know them? If I had known the enemy, I may have been able to save more of the apprentices.”

This… Soa Sten… There was a layer under her words. The way she phrased her statement. The way she had caressed and stared at Kran’s former lightsaber. Something else was at play, but Akeem could not connect the dots completely.

“I don’t know who they are. Their uniforms were unfamiliar. Most of them were military, with advanced droids. There was one that wore a different uniform and mask. All black, who wielded a lightsaber. He was trained to hunt, fight, and kill.”

His eyes narrowed. His heart began to race. “That one… A worthy kill.”

    Kilara Vasetti
Bandomeer, two days before the rest of you ...

"As you wish, Master." That was all she said and all that was probably expected. Within the Legion you did not question orders. They were all just extensions of the will of the Master. Nothing else. The Inner Circle interpreted his will. The Legion executed it. There was no doubt, no hesitation.

Kilara wondered if that was the reason why she was not send to the Jedi Temple. Did Master Paz feel her doubt? Did she feel that killing the Jedi had left a mark on her? That she had seen no evil in him? Nothing to hate?

She knew the war was coming and she knew she would have to kill many of them. She was trained to do so. An expert. But the Reaper who walked with them, he had a hunger for it. A need implanted deeply into his corrupted soul. The Dark Side had consumed every aspect of him. Kilara was not there yet. She felt the power of darkness, but it was not yet a part of her. Not yet she felt she was one with the darkness. It was her weakness. A weakness she had to purge from her soul, or she would kneel on that floor and end her life as Theron had just done.

Cordon would be the beginning, but she knew it was not the end. They would not stop until the last of the Jedi was slain. Their calm souls would not help them. The will of their Master turned against them and the Legion had been trained and designed to impose this will on the galaxy.

Kilara would serve. She was Legion.

"Who is our most powerful adversary on Corsin?" She looked at Rauda Paz. "Many Jedi have trained for years, so who is the most powerful enemy we have to expect?" Looking at the Reaper she shrugged. "Master Kran was surprised, butchers we face the enemy face-to-face. We need to prepare."
