Tanee demanded he should control himself, but he knew that was not an option. He had no control over this. Actually he just learned to give himself to it and loose control. So he would do all that was left to do. He would give himself to this power and bring death to his enemies. All he could hope was it would be enough to survive.

Breathing in he tapped into his anger over the cruelty and murder and stepped forward, to attack.

    Sera Romar
    Behind cover, streets

The shot missed her and she dived behind the corner and breathed through. Then she quickly fell to one knee not to appear on the height the shooter was expecting her and dived around the corner to fire one aimed shot Athens single attacker. Then she unloaded another three into the men approaching the blind girl and leaped out of her corner, charging towards the three lightsaber wielders. Jedi had the ability to reflect shots and that was probably the best protection she could get. On her way she ducked down and grabbed a second blaster postal, before sliding into the center of the group.

„Sera Romar, pleased to meet all of ya!“ She yelled to indicated she was a friendly and with both blaster postols she started spreadings shots at the attackers, avoiding the silver guy with the double blade. He would probably deflectthe shots back to her, so she left him to the girl in black.

Tanee didn't get a response from Janis, but she did feel something else. The being who had shot earlier towards some of the folks attacking them now was on the move. They unloaded another three into the men approaching Tanee and leaped out of her corner, charging towards the group. What in the world!? Was this person nuts? The person slid low, to avoid getting sliced by them, as they were still battling incoming attacks.

The person introduced herself, "Sera Romar, pleased to meet all of ya!“ She yelled to indicated she was a friendly and with both blaster pistols she started spreadings shots at the attackers. Truly, the Force was working with them at the moment, as Tanee swung her blade to deal with any who managed to get to close. She could not worry about Janis right now. They needed to survive this first. She could worry about his state of mind later. But right now, their side seemed to be growing in numbers. She would take whatever help they could get.

    ~Battle of Corsin~

As he was still flying under the Kenobi, hoping to complete his loop around; a change in plans occurred. But then in times of chaos, wasn’t that the way of things? It’s what he always heard at any rate.

“Red Squadron, follow me in, get protons ready.”

Vanlu quickly noted how and when the previous enemy fighters had been taken care of, then checked the coordinates of the one calling over the com. Transponder signals were stating that this was Green Leader.

“Red 7, 11, 9, 4; can you escort us into deployment position? Everyone else, activate torpedoes, we give that one all we got left and hope it was enough to bring it down.”

As he was talking, the newly crowned ‘Red 7’ was already locating his position and swooping over to assist. He could only hope Vlo was still doing alright and would be doing the same right now.

    “Copy, Green Leader.”

Within moments, faster than he had anticipated honestly, he was in position and escorting as requested. He wasn’t sure the full battle plans going on, but this man was in charge and he’d have to trust he knew what he was doing.

Fingers flew over the controls and his proton torpedoes were active and ready. He had requested only to escort, ‘everyone else’ was meant to do the bombing. But, shavit, he was in an X-Wing now and could easily do both!

    Enemy depending, of course.

Visually noting Green Leader’s D-Wing Fighter nearby, he kept at an appropriate distance to do what he was asked. His eyes were keeping as alert as possible for incoming enemy fighters. Whether the approaching swarm or otherwise. Occasionally his gaze flicked over to the Empress-Class ships they were diving for.

    Here we go!

The stars stretched and then they were gone.

He set the autopilot to alert him when they were a few minutes from their destination and stood and walked away from the cockpit. In the back Taruun had his eyes closed and was strapped into the seat. Akeem could feel the concentration of the Force around the man, but was unsure what was happening. A meditative state? He walked through the lounge and opened the cooler to see what drinks or food he could find. He wasn't really hungry and was doing this more so out of habit. His nerves were still on edge, understandably. Barely escaping Elyseum to go to Corsin where he barely escaped a massacre there. Water. He grabbed a cold bottle out of the cooler and leaned against the table, rubbing a hand through his hair.

Closing his eyes, he thought back to engaging the soldiers they had run into. Tough, hardy, dangerous, and yet he knew now that he could defeat them. Even the strongest one of them that had appeared. All of them could be defeated, but he'd need to put the work in. He'd need to accelerate his learning and advance his skillset exponentially. He took a sip of the water and grabbed a ration pack before making his way to a private room, where he pulled out his sword, cleaned it, and began practicing his movements.

There was no rest for the wicked.

"Rubber's down!' Khan messaged over the com channel to the rest of her squad.

She ducked down beside him and fired a burst from her rifle as she dragged him behind a dumpster for cover. His arm was gone, but she immediately went into applying combat aide, while still directing her team.

"Hawk, stay low and locate the sniper." She was somewhat surprised that a sniper would be perched and ready for retaliation in an area that the enemy thought to be secure, but it was likely a scout or lookout sniper. She'd bet her life on Hawk being able to find the sniper before the opposite could happen. "Buzz, continue laying down suppressing fire. We have...4, possibly 5 enemy combatants bearing down on us. I do not need assistance."

She placed a knee on his shoulder to stem the bleeding and to hold his convulsing body down while she pulled bacta spray from her belt and applied a heavy coating to began sealing the room. She took a position on the edge of the side of the dumpster, behind cover, while Rubber's body was completely in cover beside her back foot. Her helmet buzzed to life as it quickly ascertained the location of the 5 belligerents approaching them. She did not need to peer from behind cover. Her helmet could see them through their shared com network. She exhaled and quickly ducked out of cover, blasting two of her targets in their helmets, before a hale of blasterfire responded to her. She ducked back behind cover and waited for her next opportunity, hoping that Hawk would soon be successful in locating the enemy sniper.

    They needed that artillery point.

    Orbit of Corsin

The divided 2nd Fleet of the Third Republic was now punished back as another wave of Empress-Class Star Destroyers were deployed. The one victory the Republic fleet had achieved had been to cover the evacuation transports, but it was undone by a powerful grab-field enveloping the planet and keeping any ship from escaping. Green Squadron had pushed back the attack on the command fleet, but the next weave was already coming and thousands of fighters from the carriers descended now both into the atmosphere and upon both fleets.

The 2nd fleet was now consisting of damaged ships, almost 60% reported substantial damage. The battle was lost, one ship at a time and the attack of the Armada was relentless, never giving the enemy even a minute to rearrange formations or sort their fleets for tactics. It was clear that Admiral Farlander had never trained for engagements of this scope or size and had clearly lost control of the fleet, that was now following Captain‘s and Commanders shouting orders, trying to solve local problems and hold the line. A counter-offense had become impossible.

The Battle of Corsin was already lost, it was now only a matter of time and gravity of the loss.

Taruun opened his eyes as Akeem began to train. He got up to his feet and slowly moved to the private quarters, feeling the pain with every step. With a wave of his hand he opened the door.

„The blade won‘t defeat this enemy. Your training is useless young Bestat.“ He said in a soft tone and entered the cabin, sitting down on one of two available beds. „Neither your skills with the blade nor your anger will ever rival theirs.“ He sighed. „I suspect they have trained to hunt our kind for a long time.“ He pulled his injured leg into a less painful position. „Only by understanding them you will be victorious, as they almost bested you by understanding you.“

Canos Zoren stood over the body of his defeated enemy. The slain Jedi Master had fought well, yet she had never stood a chance against him. He had enjoyed her slow realization of the simple reality that no Jedi was his equal. Certainly not her.

He closed his eyes among the screaming voices of the civilians fighting now for the last spots on the last transports. His son was no longer alone. The Legion had failed to capture him. The Legion had failed, because the unthinkable had happened. One had broken the communion. Or had she never been truly a part of it? Had he underestimated Kilara Vasetti?

They cannot save you, my boy. In the end you will be mine, one weary or another.

He whispered the words into the force and then turned and walked to the last hangar door still sealed. It opened automatically in front of him. The Viper‘s Nest awaited him, the very ship he had used all those years ago to flee into safety from the Order.

Streets of Corsin, South of the Spaceport

Kilara, Tanee and Janis all hurled their lightsabers at their attackers.

Tanee felt the force guide her blade and it guided it well. Quickly she slay a soldier with a vibrio blade, then a second with a lance. The blue energy blade foundries weakness in the over-eager attackers every time with deadly certainty. She was quick, dodged more than that she blocked. They did not stand a chance. It was probably the firsttime in her life Tanee killed a living person.

Then another two were ripped of their feet by the new arrival of Sera Romar who fired relentlessly in the troops who had mostly switched to their melee weapons and were easy targets. Then the stream of attacker on Tanee‘s side ended and she felt a surge in the force.

Matthias Kya took them by surprise and half of them not even turned before his blade killed them in wide swings. Panic spread among them, as he brutally slaughtered a lane into their midst. The narrow alleys gave almost no room to escape his onslaught. When he arrived at Tanee, the blind Padawan of the Jedi he had met a few minutes ago he had killed over a dozen enemies.

Janis felt the power burn in his veins as the next trooper attacked, now more out of fear and desperation than the willingness to fight. The blade cut through his leg and then through both arms of the man and turned automatically without a conscious decision of Janis and stabbed the next often men. They withdrew, seeing what Kya had done totgerittenem comrades and realizing their superior numbers had dwindled to an even fight they could not win. When Janis approached the turned and ran.

Which left Kilara and the Silver Reaper who danced around each other. He was skilled with the blade, probably as skilled as her. But she was fast, empowered by the force and training he had never endured or been privileged enough to receive. Strike by strike his offensive fighting style turned against him, as he was forced into the defense. It had not been arrogance to challenge her, it had been the will of his master instilled into every fiber of his body. Now what little remained of himself felt fear, as he realized he would not win the duel. A fear that distracted him, that disturbed his focus. Enough for Kilara‘s blade to cut down, dividing his double blade into two and cutting through the silver armor of his chest blade. The blade went deep enough to slide through his heart and he stopped for a moment, before his hands fell to the side, both lightsabers he held now falling to the ground and his body followed a second later.

The men who had backed him retreated immediately, running away from Kilara who had just slayed the warrior they had considered invincible. Some of Sera‘S shots killed them anyway, before they vanished in the alleys.

Matthias Kya, Sera Romar, Janis Callisto, Tanee and the first traitor in the history of the Legion Kilara Vasetti stood in the small plaza over the bodies of their many fallen enemies.

    Near the Spaceport

„Sniper down.“ Hawk reported, breathing out. He had killed the man just as he had taken aim on him. Then every communication was drowned as a TIE Crusader passed over them and an explosion rocket through the city, as his bombs vaporized three buildings. Probably that had been the stronghold of the Republic to defend the spaceport.

Kahn had quickly brought down four of her five attackers, but the fifth, one of the black armored soldiers wearing the insignia of Tion, had taken clover and fired now back without looking, using probably a technology similar to hers. The mortars began firing. Not as many as they had planned for, but three explosions ripped into the living quarters nearby. Screams were heard everywhere in the city. The giant six legged walker fired wildly into the fleeing masses of people. Rubber drew himself up and remained in cover, now drawing his side-weapon.

Far away another explosion threw a giant dust cloud into the air. „That was the Garnison.“ Lorn replied. A moment later the blinking red light appeared in their displays. Evacuation was ordered. The Republic abandoned the planet.

They could hardly withdraw from their firefight though and Hawk was only more angry by the battle being lost and fired salvo after salvo into the remaining troops operating the portable artillery.

Above Corsin, the Space Battle and the Eternal Justice

The Battle was pure chaos now. TIE-X were everywhere. Impossible to say which ad been the ones following Vanlu earlier. They were now coming from both sides, as Green Squadron approached the Empress-Class Star Destroyer Vanguard now and the targeting mechanisms beeped in the cockpits. The D-Wings fired their torpedoes and they were still in the air, when they heard the alarm of being targeted. A squadron to TIE-X had brought themselves into their rear.

„Red Leader to squadron, protect the Greens.“ The order was shouted into the comm and Vlo hissed into the still private comm Chanel he had open to Red 7, Vanlu. „Oh I hate flying.“ He shouted the words as all X-Wings of Red Squadron broke away to engage the enemy. Vanlu seemed to be the only one who saw the flaw of this strategy. Below five TIE-X approached in close formation from the Star Destroyer and if not stopped they would hit the Green Squadron hard, as the fighters launched their last torpedoes. The Vanguard burned now and trembled under the fire of the Kenobi approaching fast to punch a hole into the enemy line.

Antilles had just fired his torpedo, when he received a priority message from High Command. „Grav-projector activated. Sector 5.54. We need to take this one down, Leader Green. We need to take this one down, or we are doomed.“ It was the order to dive into the enemy formation and attack a ship behind the lines. It was what pilots called a one-way run.

Liara chuckled. „Whatever it was called, big one. Long gone history.“ She said and shrugged away the feats of this ship as if this was just another boring history lesson. She had probably not been born until 90 years after the Battle of Exegol, so what did it mean for her?

„As we got the parts and they need only a bit of adjustment, I‘d say give me five hours and you are good to go.“ She said and smiled, turning to the Hutt. „The question is can you pay for them?“ She raised her brow.

„Chuwa wanda etessis.“ Morwon the Hutt said, declaring the parts to be priceless as they have become incredibly rare. „Dawa tondo cadu taza ondo.“ He then added. Ondo, the Huttese word for favor and debt the same time. He had something for Chewbacca to do to pay the debt. The Hutt gestured to the bar of the tavern, where a dark skinned man was sitting with another unhappy looking guy who was wearing pretty noble clothes. Liara smiled.

„Yeah, right. Redmon called in a favor, he and his friend need a lift after a Mandalorian has vaporized their fancy ride.“ She said. „Redmon, Captain Chewbacca got probably just what you need. His ship is . . .“ She smirked. „Legendary.“ She then added and gestured to the two men.

Redmon had brought Valerius to a tavern outside the city, well hidden among two giant dunes and he had promised if they found a pilot with a ship anywhere, it was here. There had been none, but now after an hour of drowning the frustration in cheap imitation of Corellian Brandy the Wookiee had shown up and they finally had a chance to pick a ride.

    Evacuation.

Khan silently confirmed the order, still returning fire to the last assailant in the alley. It appeared that he was blindfiring, but he was not. The shots were too accurate. He was likely in possession of alternative viewing technology as well. She activated her com.

"Buzz, lay suppressing fire. We're falling back to the spaceport. Hawk, pack it up. I'll need you and Buzz's help getting Rubber out of here. Lorn, blow the charges on my count."

There were times to be accurate and precise, but when time was of the essence and the enemy already knew your position, Khan did not mind being loud and brutal. "Rubber, stay here and give me covering fire." She grabbed Rubber's grenade launcher and launched two grenades in the direction of her enemy, before ducking out of cover and quickly crossing the gap that separated them, the covering fire keeping her enemy from firing until she was right on him. She grabbed his rifle and pinned it against his neck. He was strong and began to push her off of him, until her sidearm pumped 2 shots into his stomach, easily blasting through the armor. He slid to the ground and Khan knelt beside him, salvaging the explosives off his person.

They still had enemies firing mortars and taking the artillery out when the battle was loss would be a meaningless gesture. They would just be replaced by more soon after, now that the enemy had control over the city. Yet...she temporarily dropped the static, monotonous attitude she held when following military commands and instead wanted to kill more of the enemy for destroying Rubber's arm. She took a covered position and launched the salvaged explosives across the yard, towards the artillery and retreated back to Rubber. She didn't wait for the sound of the explosions.

"Lorn, blow the charges you've laid and return to the rally point. Hawk, Buzz, what's your status?"

"Buzz is still laying down machine fire, I'm making my way down." Hawk's out of breath voice responded over the channel.

"Both of you." She paused as she lifted Rubber's body into a fireman's carry on her shoulders. She was now exclusively using her sidearm and Rubber was still holding his sidearm up with his remaining arm, covering her rear. "Come now, we're getting out of here."

The heir protector continued with his movements, not physically responding to Taruun's unwanted presence, but once he came to the end of his final sword swing, he stopped, sweating, and sipped his water. He had just decided to give the man a break. Now Taruun brought himself over to lay criticism or misguided tutelage.

"The first part of your statement rings a bit false... I remember you wielding that lightsaber of yours right beside me to fight them back there. I also recall me killing one of them back there. Same as you." He took a seated position on the other small, clean cot in the room. He hunched over, elbows on his knees, water bottle dangling from two of his fingers. He was coming down from the energy spike that combat granted him earlier. A crash was imminent and he needed to rest. "Seems that all their training and anger doesn't make them invincible, does it?"

"I got bested by sheer numbers and encountering someone stronger in the Force than I. What was your excuse back there? We are not alike, Taruun-oyo. You trained with them and...I'm speculating here, but I suspect that you probably adopted some of their beliefs. Maybe you even still consider yourself a Jedi. I am not. I know where my loyalties lie and I know to whom my duty belongs. I only care about what helps me kill the people that seek to do me and mine harm. If that comes from understanding them, so be it. If it comes from outright destruction and overwhelming power, so be that. One of the many things the royal guard taught me is that there is always someone out there that is bigger, stronger, and meaner."

He turned and kicked off his boots, laying back on the cot and closing his eyes.

"I'm going to do what my people need me to do and become what they need me to become to protect them. And I will have my vengeance."

The battle was over as suddenly as it had begun. Janis swallowed hard and felt the flow of emotions and power endows inside of him. He had had no idea what he was capable off. Respectfully and almost a little frightened he pressed the button on his lightsaber and the red blade vanished.

He wondered hereto put it. Everybody else had useful clips on their belts, but not him. Putting it into the belt would probably cause the blade to be ignited by accident. He decided to keep it in his hand, his finger as far away from the ignition button as possible.

„Thank you.“ He said to all of them, knowing it had not been them these men had been after. „I guess I am the reason for all of this.“ Of course he was not the reason for ALL of this, but he felt guilty about it. After all it was his father who had started the war. Closing his eyes he felt his body tremble as the adrenaline vanished.

Then he heard his fathers voice whisper to him in the force. He could not be saved and he would be his. The feeling of inevitability filled his soul, but he forced himself not to tremble. He would be strong. His mother would have wanted him to be strong.

Soa hammered her hand into the instruments in frustration. She had needed five seconds and she would have jumped out of the system, but the grav-well had to go up right when she planned to punch the hyper-drive ignition.

It was not very Jedi like, but there was only so much bad luck a girl could take. First her investigation was a little bit derailed by an all out invasion of the Third Republic‘s prime fortress word, then a Jedi took her best lead without authorization and now she saw him escape to hyperspace, while she was struck in a Warzen with what was probably the only unarmed fighter on the whole planet.

She calmed herself, which was not that easy and read her sensors. TIEs were incoming. She was amidst a small fleet of transports who were now sitting Banthas and also she would usually have been ready to die to defend those innocents on board, she now had no way to help them.
There was only one thing she could do. She had to follow her mission. It was more important now than ever before. Closing her eyes she summoned the force to give her the strength to do what was necessary. Millions would die today and the Jedi would not be able to save them. It was a fact she had to accept.

A gravity well had a limited area it contained. Spreading the well over the whole planet was quite a technological feat anyway, but the bubble created by it where hyperjumps were impossible could not be too large.
Pulling down the lever of her engines to the very end she accelerated her ship and took a course away from the planet. She would not face those fighters. She would leave the refugees behind and flee. It was the only option she had.

„I am sorry, may the force be with you all.“ She whispered and was pressed back into her seat, as she flew at maximum speed to get out of the range for the gravity field.

The torpedoes did their job, also the attack was not as effective as the one before. The Captain of the Kenobi did also do his job and used the opening to start a relief attack. Sid was just about to have a good feeling about it, when his alarm informed him about the targeting computers of the enemy searching for him.

„Greens, scatter.“ He ordered and pulled his ship up in a rapid move. He hoped his wingman would be able to follow, but so far Green 2 had been a reliable wingman. Accelerating he then dived low, hoping to loose any following TIE-X. Any moment now the 120 TIEs from above would join the attack.

In all this chaos central command finally showed a sign of life and of course they had no good news. Rotating his ship and diving under one of the Republic-class destroyers he hoped the Red Squadron would get a handle on them. Because they had to take down the grav-projector. It was the enemies killing move. Trapping all of their fleet and all of the refugees in orbit to finish them off one by one. No troops from the ground, no ship from above would escape and once they had enough numerical advantage they would finish them all off one-by-one. If they had to, they could just wait for them to run out of fuel. It would be an absolute massacre.

    They could not allow this.

A defeat was one thing. A total defeat would probably mean they lost the war.

They could loose the war in their first battle.

He was aware what a run at the Interdictor meant though. It was a suicide mission. Diving into the depth of the enemy fleet and attacking one ship deeply embedded and shielded was almost impossible. Escaping afterwards seemed unthinkable.
It had to be done anyway. Looked like today was a good day to die.

First he had to survive. The first priority was to survive this assault. He rolled his ship around and made a sharp left turn, trying to get some of the TIEs before his guns and his finger hovering over the firing button. No targeting system was needed, at this close proximity he would shoot on sight.

She said and smiled, turning to the Hutt - a long lived species who would in-fact remember Exegol - and probably the Old Republic at its height, during the High Republic era. "The question is can you pay for them?" She raised her brow, and Chewbacca caused a side glance at Morwon, looking for him to answer.

"Chuwa wanda etessis." Morwon the Hutt said, declaring the parts to be priceless as they have become incredibly rare. "Dawa tondo cadu taza ondo.“ He then added. Ondo, the Huttese word for favour and debt the same time. He had something for Chewbacca to do to pay the debt. The Hutt gestured a pudgy arm to the bar of the tavern, where a dark skinned man was sitting with another unhappy looking guy who was wearing pretty noble clothes. Liara smiled, and Chewbacca was curious in-spite of himself; he had been to one end of the galaxy and back again a few dozen times - and into the old Unknown Regions - there wasn't much which made him curious nowadays.

"Yeah, right. Redmon called in a favour, he and his friend need a lift after a Mandalorian has vaporised their fancy ride." She said, more smirking. "Redmon, Captain Chewbacca got probably just what you need. His ship is . . . Legendary."

To a certain extent, Chewbacca had expected this. Hutts rarely did something for purely sentimental reasons, though there were exceptions. They often couched a 'great opportunity' as a way to get something they needed doing done. He had come to Trian last for that very reason, but desperate times and all.

He gestured to the noble-looking man. [And who is this friend?]

Chewbacca was getting severe deja vu about events in the Chalmun Cantina, a hundred and forty years ago now, and he hoped BB-8 would peer up and dig into the local data-net for more information. He usually did, as the inquisitive sort, so Chewbacca would have a head-start on whatever lies and omissions occurred - if they were local, or somewhat local. This close to the Tionese sphere of influence, it was harder to work out much, and Chewbacca was trying to pick out that particular strain of noble attire from the rest of the idiots in the Core.

[I'm happy to repay a debt with a favour], Chewbacca rumbled. [But I expect my expenses to be covered, Morwon, at most.] That meant fuel, and, if need be, was broad enough to cover ordnance if it came to that. At least half of his life had been spent converting the Falcon so it could accept modern standards of missiles and torpedoes, because he liked to be prepared. Even when the Falcon became more of a family ship - during a spell he had settled on Kashyyyk - he had insisted, to his wife Malla's annoyance, that the YT-1300 had to stay armed and prepared.

Briefly thinking of Malla made him think of Lumpawaroo, and his family.

    Not now.

Senility was not becoming of a War Hero.

    The Streets of Corsin

Kilara looked down at the fallen Reaper and then called his divided lightsaber blades to her hands. With the force she opened the crystal chambers and the two red crystals landed in her hand. Then she slowly turned around. A smuggler and another warrior with the ability to use the force had joined them in the last moments of the fight. He did not feel like a Jedi. A curiosity her Master had warned her about. There existed a few who did not follow the Jedi code, but who had the abilities of a Jedi.

„Kilara.“ She introduced herself and looked at the newcomers and then at Janis. The man called Kya seemed to have killed most of the troopers, but he also seemed to be more aligned with the Jedi than a neutral. She turned her attention to the only person that interested her.

„I see now why he fears you. Most impressive what you did for one not trained in the ways of the force.“ She smiled at Janis. „I can‘t wait to see what you will be able to do with proper training.“ Then she turned to the woman with the guns who looked like she spend a lot of time in space. A smuggler or explorer maybe.

„Do you have a ship Sera Romar?“ She asked bluntly.

Jerec Egola and Admiral Seron Madine
Aboard the Song of War, above Chandrila

He had passed all security without being bothered. The Red Hand had certain privileges and even though his current Chancellor cared less about him than past incarnations, he was not limited by him.

He watched the fleet get into position and wondered how they would proceed. The man who could tell him entered the room.

„Jerec.“ Admiral Madine said and then smiled. „Been a while.“

Jerec turned. „The teenage Admiral.“ He just said and they stared at each other, before both men laughed.

„Guess this was the worst time to become Admiral ever. Anyway, you can imagine I am rather busy. I did not even speak to the senate yet, so consider this a gesture of my friendship we even talk to each other.“

Jerec nodded. „I can imagine. Going to war, hm? Well, you have been there today. While the Republic was attacked in a major offense for the first time in a hundred years, someone tried to take out Deon of Kuat. Off all people Deon of Kuat, hardly a coincidence.“

„You got an idea who is behind it?“ The Admiral asked.

„The lead goes to Haruun Kal. I need a Code Alderaan prepared for the planet.“ Jerec said and the Admiral grew silent.

„That is an extreme measure for an assassin coming from there.“ The Admiral said.

„I got a feeling. We might have a deeper problem in the independent systems than we might think.“ Jerec smirked. „When was my feeling ever wrong, hm?“

„Ryloth.“ The Admiral said and raised his brows.

„Oh, c‘mon how long will everybody hold Ryloth against me? I was wounded and heavily drugged.“ Jerec sighed.

The Admiral smiled. „I know. Okay, I authorize it, conditions as usual.“

Jerec smiled. „Thanks.“ He saluted the Admiral and left for the door. „Seen the holos, good luck with the war.“ He added and left.

„May the force ne with you.“ The Admiral answered and looked after the Red Hand.

The Sting dropped out of hyperspace, after making the trip in record time. The hyperspace was among the fastest in the galaxy. Jerec activated the cloaking device the ship was equipped with and made his way towards the green planet, scanning the fleet in orbit as he approached. He would land outside the city limits and enter the capital by foot. He had a contact there who might help him identifying the assassin.
He was now in his full combat suit, with a cloak wrapped around it. He had considered going in undercover, but had no time to prepare an effective cover. So this had to do.

Sera breathed through and let go of the gun she had picked up, reloading the energy pack of her own gun quickly. The boy thanked them. „No prob.“ She just smiled at him. „I kinda ran into you guys.“ It was probably not that easy. The force never was and these were all force-users.

Kilara asked her if she had a ship and she produced a broad smile. „Not any ship. The Nightflyer is the fastest ship in the quadrant.“ She replied and took out her comm-link. „Vatek, pick us up on my coordinates.“ She said and pointed to a nearby building. „I guess we should go to the roof. Easier for the pick-up. Except anyone of you feels like he wanted to wait for these guys to return with reinforcements.“

She put her gun away and then looked at the lightsaber of the man she had shot first. The warrior in the strange armor. Had been a long time since she held a lightsaber. The trials. Or initiation. Whatever the Jedi called these rites she had failed at. Leaning down she picked it up and put it to her belt. Maybe it would be useful somewhere down the road. „Anybody knows who these guys are?“ She asked and looked up. Above a battle was raging, one unlike any she had ever seen. the nightstand was illuminated with explosions. She had once seen two Hutt frigates fight off a pirate fleet outside Concord Dawn. She had seen a Repuiblic frigate hunt down a raider frigate over Horuz and she had seen a Republic Destroyer near Ithor attack a shadow port where a wanted criminal had been hiding. All of this had ^seemed large in scale and now dwarves compared to what had to be thousands of ships fighting up there. Tenth of thousands of fighter, probably. Hundreds of thousands dying. Millions dying down here. Corsin had fallen. The unthinkable had happened.

„Because whoever these guys are, they are certainly winning the battle.“

    Tanee Bolyn

Slaughter Street, south of the Spaceport

Tanee moved, and as she did, she felt the Force flow through her. It was like it was before, and yet it was not. Whenever Tanee had fought before, it was in practice, not with a live blade. And this time, the blade was real, and so was the death that followed. But she did not think of such things during the battle. She simply let the Force guide her. The blue energy blade foundries weakness in the over-eager attackers every time with deadly certainty. She was quick, dodged more than that she blocked.

Thankfully, with the intervention of a few others, the battle was over. When no more shots rang out, she slowly looked around her. The bodies of many, many foes laid around them. Tanee turned her saber off, as did Janis as she looked around. He held on to the saber, having no place to put it.

"Thank you.“ He said to all of them. "I guess I am the reason for all of this." Closing his eyes he felt his body tremble. "No prob.“ Sera just smiled at Janis. "I kinda ran into you guys.?"

Tanee walked over to Janis. "No, your not," she stated gently as she lightly touched his shoulder. "I dont care what he says. He was coming here regardless. He wanted to slaughter as much as he could." she told him.

Tanee then looked over to the girl who had slid in to help them. "Thank you Sera Romar." If those shots were yours, then you are one heck of a shot." she added with a slight grin. Then a man walked over, taking a sniff from a handkerchief. "Thank you for keeping them looking your way; I was able to do some damage before they noticed me." He then looked them all over.

"Tanee, right? I'm Matthias Kya. I was sent to meet you." Tanee wondered who had sent him to meet her. Possibly Knight Saleen? Tanee hoped so. She didnt want to deal with another being sent by Canos. But as she wondered such things she noticed Matthias step between herself and the others.

"And who might you all be?" He everyone but kept his eye on the Darksider who introduced herself as "Kilara. She then spoke to Janis, “I see now why he fears you. Most impressive what you did for one not trained in the ways of the force.“ She smiled at Janis. "I can‘t wait to see what you will be able to do with proper training.“

"Do you have a ship Sera Romar?“ Kilara asked bluntly. „Sera smiled. "Not any ship. "I guess we should go to the roof. Easier for the pick-up."

Tanee stayed next to Janis. "Can we do introductions while we move?" she asked. Now that she was not in a battle for her life, her ribs were beginning to protest their previous treatment. And she was wanting to get away from the pile of bodies that lay around them as well. She looked over towards Janis. "Do you wish to go with them? If Kya is correct, we should have some others join us soon," she asked him quietly.

    ~Battle of Corsin~

    Chaos!

TIE-X’s were everywhere. So were burning, exploding ships. Mainly theirs. A veritable swarm of the enemy, though expected moments previous, came flying all around them. It was even worse than they thought it would be.

All Vanlu could say was that at least they got their proton torpedoes off. Or rather, Green Squadron and a few of the other Reds had. His priority had been forced to shift to firing his turbo lasers at any and all fighters trying to pick them off.

But as soon as the torpedoes were finally away and tearing into the enemy ship, Vanguard, the alarm of being targeted came through again. Enemy squadron at their 6.

“Red Leader to squadron, protect the Greens.”

    That was natural, but…

    “Oh, I hate flying.”

Vlo had made it so far, huh? Good, but now he was peeling off with the others which left them open! Of course they couldn’t just ignore the ambush from the back, yet that —

There. Just like he thought. Five Tie Fighters coming in close from the Star Destroyer they had just attacked. Coming in from below. He did not hear the message from High Command, being a priority one to Squadron Leader, but it wouldn’t have changed what he had to do next. First things first as they say.

Just as the D-Wing leader was telling his own squadron to scatter, Red 7 was already tilting his X-Wing straight downward at full throttle, then entering into a tight spin, firing off all four of his turbolaser cannons. Being still in tight like that, it should take out perhaps two, the following spin would hopefully take out another one as it tried to flee…most likely to the outside where his rotating cannons would pick them off easier.

Vanlu straightened out as soon as he dove through whomever remained and banked back around again to finish them off as quickly as possible, only briefly taking in the sight of the Kenobi tearing into the Vanguard.

Noticing at least one or two of the D-Wings coming in to aid him, he smiled but decided to wave them away for the moment if possible. There were a lot of targets now, better they not get bundled up focusing on the same ones. Plus, this group he had under control. He could feel it.

“I got these guys down here, Green Squadron. Do what you need to do,” he stated with full confidence.

    IC: Valerius Vector
    Location: Lozlo's Inn, Trian

Thankfully Redmon had agreed to find him a ship and knew just the place.

Valerius had been in a few dives like this one, mostly tracking targets, sometimes meeting with his underworld contacts. But never in his wildest dreams did he think he would be sitting in a bar trying to get a ride off planet. Usually the Electrostar was his ride but with it gone it was up to him and Redmon to find a good enough ship to take him to Tion.

Frustratingly after an hour of searching nothing had come up. And Valerius was possibly about to fail his first ever case. The imitation Corellian Brandy was disgusting, Valerius hardly drank anyway, he liked to keep his mind sharp.

He was in full investigative mode, checking entrances and exits, all the patrons in the bar, everyone. There were no friends here and the other Mandalorian could easily show up after no response from his comrade.

Valerius then spotted a Wookiee. The furry biped was talking to a young woman who looked like a mechanic and a Hutt. No surprise a Hutt would be in a place like this he thought.

The young woman then called to Redmon "Redmon, Captain Chewbacca got probably just what you need. His ship is . . .“ She smirked. „Legendary.“

Well I hope this might be my ticket out. Let's go and say hello…

Valerius rose up from his seat and put a friendly smile on his face. He still stuck out in the bar thanks to his well made suit even though it was one of his more casual ones. He was still covered in sand and his blonde hair was messed up but he could have looked worse.

"So your lady friend here says your ship is legendary Captain Chewbacca" he said to the Wookiee giving him a respectable nod "Unfortunately my Baudo yacht got blown up by a Mandalorian bounty hunter who is also tracking the woman I have been sent to retrieve"

He produced his datapad with his credentials "My name is Valerius Vector, i'm a private investigator. The woman I am tracking has headed to Tion, my home planet. I would be grateful if you could kindly give me a ride there so I can either find her or find what information she was after".

The streets on the way to the roof

Janis looked at Tanee, as they were making their way to the roof and offered his arm. She was blind after all and this was bumpy ground, hard to predict. He usually would have been sensitive about this, but now he was simply trying to be fast. „Not so sure if there is anybody coming, Tanee. You cannot see it, but believe me this battle is lost and my father will slaughter any Jedi he and his men can find.“ He bit his lip and looked at Kilara and Kya. The two warriors were very different. Yet, he had seen they were both effective in their own way. Kya seemed like a solider in his red armor and direct ways. Kilara was something different. A killer, a trained assassin. Elegant and deadly. She had saved him though. He would not forget that. Tanee had saved him on Elyseum, Kilara had saved him here on Corsin. He was in need of a lot of saviors lately.

„I guess if we wait the next who will come will be more of them. Without her, we might not make it another round.“ Janis said whispering. He was aware there was a rift between the two young women. A Jedi met quite the opposite of a Jedi. They were only united by their common believe in . . . Him? The idea itself was frightening. Both had risked their lives to save his. Both had paid a high price to save him. His father had come for him. What was so important about him? Even being Canos Zoren‘s son, what made him so extraordinary trained force users rushed to fight and die for him?

Janis offered her his arm. Tanee almost refused, but instead, she simply smiled and took the offered arm. The ground was bumpy, and her ribs were hurting, so she was willing as everyone was moving fast. As they walked, he answered her earlier comment.

"Not so sure if there is anybody coming, Tanee. You cannot see it, but believe me, this battle is lost and my father will slaughter any Jedi he and his men can find."

Tanee quickly answered, very softly. "Believe me. I can 'see' it." Tanee moved her head for a moment. "But I don't sense him anymore. Tanee felt Janis grow silent. She couldn't imagine how he must felt. He had just lost his mother and now finds out that his supposed father is ... Tanee shook her head. She turned her head as Janis spoke once more.

"I guess if we wait the next who will come will be more of them. Without her, we might not make it another round." Janis said whispering. Tannee spoke softly. "And I know the Jedi Knight I was speaking too earlier will be looking for me. She is the same one that Kya mentioned. I told her about you. She and another Jedi Master are the reason I am here now. They got me here, so I could find you." Tanee smiled sadly.

She then turned her head in the direction of the one called Matthias Kya. "You said you were sent to meet me. Sent by who? Are they coming here?" Tanee asked him.

She did not understand. He found all of it hard to accept anyway. But she probably could not accept it.

„Tanee it does not matter who wanted to come or who send the old man!“ Janis sighed. „They are probably all dead or dying soon. Canos has send all his men after me and they are not dead.“ Janis sighed. „We got to go. Now!“

He felt bad for getting loud, but he knew they had been lucky with a huge element of surprise on their side. Truth was he had seen the first of the dark warriors almost killing Tanee and he certainly was no match for them. Maybe the old man could hold off one, maybe two, but it would not be two.

Kilara Vassetti was their best chance to leave the planet alive and that was a truth maybe hard to accept for a Jedi. The Jedi were not winning. The Jedi were probably no longer the strongest group of force users in the galaxy.

He turned and followed Kilara, hoping Tanee would follow him. If she stayed here she would die like Kira, Kran and all the other Jedi he had met.

The Kenobi and it‘s escort group had stopped the onslaught at the left flank for now, but the right flank broke, as the second wave of Empress-Class Star Destroyers reached the battlefield. Seven ships of the outer perimeter fell in a matter of seconds and the 120 TIE-X that had reached the center of the Republic‘s formation wrecked havoc among the defending forces. Finally the Tion fleet reached it‘s real target and the first turbo-laser batteries targeted the flagship Vigilance. The MC-120 was heavily shielded and armored and returned fire, as the Empress Destroyers swarmed around him like hungry beasts.

„I am a Jedi and I will always be one.“ Taruun smirked a little. „If the Royal Guards have taught you that there is always a bigger fish, why have you not learned that lesson then? You killed a footsoldier. They send five of those to make sure we would die and that is what we would have.“ The Jedi got up again. „What you saw there today might be the end of your dynasty and your people. If the Jedi do not stop them, if they ever put their eye on our homeworld . . .“ Taruun sighed. „The Korunnai will end.“

The Jedi got up and nodded. „But you are right. You are no Jedi. Your training is not my responsibility.“ He walked back to the lounge without saying another word. He was clearly heart-broken now, that he realized what he had done. Taruun had today seen what might be the beginning of the end of the galaxy as he had known it and fought to preserve and he felt it heavy on his heart.

    Corsin Ground

Streets of Corsin, South of the Spaceport

Above the group the Nightflyer appeared and went into hovering mode. Vatek was not as skilled a pilot as Jeorge would have been, but he managed to set down the ship in a modestly gentle way on top of the building nearby. The ramp opened and the engines were kept on running.

From up here the escaping group had a good few over the city and it was a horrific revelation. Large towers collapsed, as fighter threw bombs from above into the areas their troops had not reached yet, killing hundreds of thousands through it. Large six legged walkers fired into the streets and building and stomped over the dead bodies of the fallen. Large parts of the north were burning. Only occasionally there were firefights heard afar, where last pockets of Republic resistance was surrounded and could not follow the evacuation order, while everywhere in the city the large and bulky transports of the Republic army took off, trying to save as many of their soldiers as possible by escaping the fallen planet.

Far away Tanee would feel the burning Jedi Academy, once a beacon of light, slowly fade. She could almost see Master Vash and the last of his Jedi making their final stand in the great hall, surrounded by overwhelming numbers of dark warriors.

    Near the Spaceport

The explosions went off and in a chain reaction set the artillery ammunition ablaze. The explosion ripped the enemy position apart, but the victory was small compared to the masses of dropships now landing everywhere north of the spaceport.

TIE Crusaders dropped their load on the city, which was now burning.

„Echo position overrun, I repeat, we are overrun!“ „Dalos platoon under heavy fire, repeat under heavy fire.“ „Evac, evac!“ The radio was full of desperate officers reporting to a no longer existing command structure. Then Kahn was joined by Buzz, Lorn and Hawk and they quickly made their way to the spaceport. Lorn took out a few troopers who approached through an ally with his repeating blaster and then took the rear.

And then they saw why nobody had bombarded the spaceport yet. The privilege belonged to the siege platforms above, who fired their turbo-laser batteries at the giant complex with deadly precision. Explosions ripped through it. „Next exam point is in bravo sector.“ Hawk said as it was obvious the spaceport did no longer make sense. Wordlessly the soldiers turned to the right direction, Hawk firing at enemies ahead and clearing the way, while Lorn kept their backs clear and Buzz escorted Kahn carrying the now unconscious Rubber. One of the last X-Wings still fighting above the city shot down a TIE and it crashed not too far away from the platoon. The heatwave of the explosion could be felt through the suits. Then the X-Wing itself was hit and hurled out of control, crashing far away into a white and burning tower. the giant building could not take anymore and collapsed. The city was not occupied. The enemy was wiping it out. „They are gonna kill everyone.“ Buzz remarked as he realized what the strategy of the attackers were.

    Above Corsin, the Space Battle

Valin dived down and the Greens pulled their ships up again right away, concentrating on their other pursuers. The five TIe below accelerated to attack speed and Valin had to wait these one or two seconds until they crossed his firing lane. These endless seconds. Then they came and he pressed the firing button and four of the five exploded in orange balls of fire, ramming into each other and becoming one cloud of fire before it died down. Their leader had escaped though, rushing upwards towards the Greens still, but now moving in sharp left and right maneuvers as Vanlu as right behind him. Above them another of their Republica-Destroyers exploded and everywhere the starfightrers entered into dogfights now.

Sid, better known as Green Leader now had shaken his first attacker with his maneuver, but his Wingman followed him one second apart and he saw him burst into an orange ball of flames. Green 7 also vanished from the screens. Right in front of Sid two TIE‘s were right in Red 11‘s back and he quickly did as he had planned. Firing on sight they both exploded right away. „Thank you Green 1!“ Vlo‘s voice came out of the comm. The man was clearly in fear and his flying looked . . . Improvised to say it mildly.

„Green Leader, confirm target.“ The voice came from his radio. Starfighter command needed him to attack the Interdictor.

Orbit of Corsin, the far side of the planet

She left the civilian transports behind and on her sensors she saw the red points of the TIE-X that had broken through their lines mix with those green points showing the hundred civilian ships. It did not take long before the green points began to vanish.

Soa made it out of the interdictors range though and her hyperdrive went from a single red light to two green lights. She was ready for hyperspace, but she would leave the Jedi Order, the 2nd fleet and millions of civilians behind.

    (no, really)

Above the group, the Nightflyer appeared and went into hovering modeThe ship managed to set down the ship in a modestly gentle way on top of the building nearby. The ramp opened and the engines were kept on running.

Once they reached the roof of the building, Tanee was almost grateful for not being able to see around her. Not that she needed to. But the sounds would haunt her for the rest of her life. Large towers collapsed, the sounds and feeling within the Force of the sheer magnitude of people dying was overwhelming. The vibrations and the sounds of heavy guns and blaster almost but not quite drowned out the screams of the dying, and those running to find someplace safe. Heavy machinery thudded closeby. Ships, with engines screaming as their engines, pushed to their limits tried to escape a dying planet.

Janis's voice brought her back to the moment.

"Tanee it does not matter who wanted to come or who send the old man!“ Janis sighed."They are probably all dead or dying soon. Canos has sent all his men after me and they are not dead.“ Janis sighed."We got to go. Now!“ The last part, he raised his voice at her. Tanee did her best not to flinch.

In the end, Tanee could only nod at him. Her senses were quickly being overrun by the slaughter that was happening all around her. She quickly followed Janis as fast as she could. As she was running for the ship, she gasped hard, nearly tripping. Far away Tanee could feel the burning Jedi Academy, once a beacon of light, slowly fade. She stepped quickly inside, saying not a word. There were no words to describe what she was not feeling. The light. The beautiful place she had stood in, less than a few hours ago was dying. She could almost see Master Vash and the last of his Jedi making their final stand in the great hall, surrounded by overwhelming numbers of dark warriors. She hoped the other Jedi temples had been warned.

Tanee quickly follows the others to whatever ship this was that she was now finding herself on yet again. She wondered if Knight Saleen made it out. Then again, Tanee was not exactly out either, at the moment. They had to get away from the planet, and if it was like before, she knew there would most likely be an armada waiting for them.

    Again.

    Wing Commander Sidor Antilles
    Battle of Corsin

Sidor took a hard left and dived below another burning Republica-Class to safety. Without a Wingman he was free to make more daring and hard to follow Mandelauges, but he was also without protection.
Opening up a channel to the Kenobi, he pulled his ship up into a steep climb.

„Wing Commander Antilles to the Captain of the Kenobi. Please copy.“ He said and checked his sensors. It was a mess out there, but even a quick read told him he had lost ships. Green Squadron was far from complete.

„This is Captain Talon, what can I do for you Commander. I am kinda in the middle of something.“ The man responded. Sidor smiled, at least a man with a certain sense of humor.

„Ah, you know - who isn‘t?“ Sid saw two TIEs pass and pulled the firing button, hitting both and saw them spiral out of control and crash into one of the ships below. He could not make out if it was theirs or one of his.

„Listen, Captain, I need two things of you. First you need to push the left flank to give us as much room as possible. Second, I need as many squadrons of you as you can give me.“ He dodged a TIE almost hitting him and hissed out. „We need to go after the interdictor.“

The Captain was silent for a moment. „That is madness, it is five clicks behind enemy lines.“ He finally said.

„I know. Xers and Ds only, please. Everything else is too slow.“ Antilles just hoped the man understood the situation. „Listen, Captain, all our small ships need their fighters for shielding them, you are the only one I can ask. As I see it we got two options. We either take out the Interdictor, or we will all die here.“

„Agreed.“ The Captain finally said. Then he opened a channel to his ships. „Eclipse, Aurora, Quasar, Perigon, Corona, Calypse and Dolus squadron, I put you under command of Wing Commander Antilles, effect immediately. Commander, you deserve that name you are wearing.“ The Captain sighed, knowing he had just dedicated seven of his squadrons to a suicide mission. „May the force be with you.“

„And with you, Captain.“ Sid looked around and turned his fighter now towards the enemy line. „Green Leader to all squadrons. Red, Blue, Green you follow me through the center. Wide formation, no dogfights, no flak shooting. We need to be fast. All Kenobi squadrons, take the scenic route and meet us at 7 comma 4 point 6. Watch out for their flak batteries, we gotta pass through hell of a lot enemy territory and they will give us their worst. Do not engage, I repeat, do not engage until we reach the target. This is our only run, we won‘t get a second. We win if we get enough torpedoes to the other side, we loose if we don‘t.“ He sighed. „If we don‘t bring this thing down, everybody is gonna die here on Corsin. So make this count. We will one day be remembered for this flight, understood?“

Adjusting his flight path he opened a channel to the Red Squadron. „Red 11, hang back and cover our entry point. Then do cover duty, I think your ship is damaged.“ This was a lie, he had no idea about the X-Wing status, but the pilot was clearly not up to the task. He wondered how he had passed flight exam, actually. „Red 7, you are with me.“ He ordered the X-Wing pilot who had just taken out a bunch of TIEs to his side. „We rendez-vous at the entry point.“ He marked the point on the map. Entry point, that was where all their ships were in their back and they would have to pass the enemy fleet. Several dozens of Empress-Class destroyers to even reach the attack zone, where a shield of these things would probably guard the enemies most dangerous weapon. The Interdictor, that could doom their whole fleet.

He accelerated his own and the line of Empress-Class ships crew quickly larger and larger. „Execute.“

    The attack run began.

    Sera Romar
    Roof on fire

These guys were not exactly a cuddly crew of friends it seemed. Words were exchanged and rather loud words. The kid was right of course. If anybody would show up it were more of their enemies. Whoever they were. Because they seemed to have won the day. The day, the planet and potentially half of the war from what orbit looked like.

Sera was simply happy to see the Nightflyer and Vatek did not break anything while landing. She was definitely in need of a better Co-Pilot. „Well, everyone who had enough of mindless slaughter for one day is welcome aboard the Nightflyer.“ She made a gesture for people to enter and walked in right away. Jeorge had left and was probably dead. She had tried to reach him to no avail. Now she had to work with what she had.

„I’d say we need two gunners in a few minutes. Not a Jedi, but I kind of can predict we will have a space battle in our near future.“ She walked to the cockpit and clapped Vatek on his back. „Good job.“ She said and took controls. „We got guests, the lightsaber wielding kind of guests from all ages and fashions. Needless to say they are not who we want to share our little secret with, okay?“ She nodded to him and powered up the ship into combat mode. This was gonna be one damned rough ride. The sensor readings looked like a malfunction. About 2000 ships in orbit, getting less every second. Fighters she could not even scan from down here. There were probably thousands of them.

There was something else. The hyperdrive light was red. Not surprising, as they were still down here. The radius of the grav-field displayed was far too big though. „Dammit, they blocked hyperspace.“ She hissed. If she wanted to escape this radius she would have to make one damned long journey through the Warntönen space territory. The other problem was she could not try the backdoor. Her course was to a very specific planet and that one was in the wrong direction. She needed to go through the battlefield, not the other way.

„This will be one hell of a ride. Hope you enjoy a little sharp flying.“ She said to Vatek and put her belt on.

    Vanlu Teslisi IC:
    ~Battle of Corsin~

Just as planned. Even better, truthfully. He had expected to quickly gun down three and still be chasing two. In the end, four down. One to go.

Well, of that particular bunch anyway.

It was using sharp left and right maneuvers, which was wise, made them much harder to target. Vanlu, now currently known as Red 7, let out a deep breath and relaxed himself. From his lungs, to his heart, to his arms, down to his fingertips.

Don’t chase after. Let him pivot side to side. Stay in a single straight line. Don’t force the target on him, let him ease into it himself. Anticipate, anticipate, anticipate…

    Now!

Timing it just as well as he could, he opened fire as he had begun to figure out how many seconds between side jukes this pilot was doing.

Hit or miss, and he felt rather good about it, he then heard something else catch his attention. It was the com again. Once again, the flow of battle was changing.

“Damn, this is intense,” he whispered to himself. He wasn’t sure if he was in awe, excited, or even afraid.

Green Leader to all squadrons. Do not engage, I repeat, do not engage until we reach the target.”

Looks like a big target was now being ready, he viewed the coordinates mentioned and checked his computer for further information now that he was just getting that all setup in the heat of battle. The kessurian could only blink. They were aiming for an enemy Interdictor. Way, way behind enemy lines. A hell of a lot of enemy territory…no fracking kidding!

“This is our only run, we won’t get a second. We win if we get enough torpedoes to the other side, we lose if we don’t,” a sigh, “If we don’t bring this thing down, everybody is gonna die here on Corsin. So make this count. We will one day be remembered for this flight, understood?”

And now, suddenly, Red 7 finally understood the depths of the situation. Of the battle in general. The panic and confusion while aboard the Eternal Justice, all the way to here. His eyes briefly panned down to Corsin itself. He swore he could see fires all over the place from all the way out here. How had this happened? Where did they come from?

How had it all fallen so completely apart!?

It was also that last line. That very last one. We will one day be remembered for this…

    So, that’s how it is.

His heart didn’t drop…it became stone. Vanlu could barely hear the Wing Commander, Green Leader, speak to Vlo over his own quick thoughts now. After all that time, watching and waiting. Repairing and insisting. The occasional joke and curse.

Vanlu Teslisi had managed to get himself into a cockpit within the Republic Navy; of a legendary X-Wing Fighter no less! And it all came now.

    At the end.

His eyes and mouth hardened, much like his heart had done a second previously.

“Red 7, you are with me.”

Somehow, he wasn’t surprised. Vanlu merely nodded despite there being no way it would be seen.

    “Copy, Green Leader.”

They had been separated, but only for the moment. He marked where he was on his computer and began making his way over to him, already dodging and weaving through enemy fighters and occasional flak cannons from enemy Empress-Class.

“We rendezvous at the entry point.”

If this was to be it. Vanlu Teslisi was determined to make every heartbeat count, just like the Wing Commander had said. He saw himself pull alongside the D-Wing that housed Green Leader, he turned and gave a small thumbs up, before refocusing.

    “Execute.”

If this was to be it, his first and only time in a fighter after all those years of wishing…

Then Vanlu Teslisi was going to make damn sure that they all remembered him. He was going to make sure that Interdictor fell. He was also going to make sure this Green Leader, a clearly skilled and experienced tactician-pilot, would survive. The Republic was going to need him in the days to come. That much was now obvious.

“Red 7, right with you,” he replied.

It was time for the kessurian to display al the skill and glory he knew he had and was due, even if it was all destined to be in one immense moment. Even if it cost his life.

May the Force be with us all.

    The attack run began.
