ST Episodes X thru XII "guaranteed"

Not sure if this is where I should be posting this. But that Gabriel guy on twitter who has established himself as someone in the know in certain aspects of the industry, whom MSW follows on twitter as well and often converses with him, is now saying that without a shadow of doubt he knows as a FACT that Disney is continuing the main Skywalker Saga past IX with X thru XII.

I really hope not. VII-IX is enough.

They will just make it about Han Solo, then they will have an excuse.

Honestly, after the sequel trilogy, they should just focus on the Anthology series of films, and if they wants do a film on the ST characters after said trilogy. I mean, what would you call this trilogy? We have the prequels, the originals, and the sequels. And if this trilogy continues off Episode 9 with the same characters, why even call it a trilogy?

 

Not buying it. And I hope it is not true.

 

Disney spent $4.2 billion on Star Wars just to make a Sequel Trilogy and then stop making movies.

Of course there will be another trilogy.

 

We all know that if Ep VII clears a Billion at the Box Office then we are well on our way to X, XI, XII u dont need to be an insider to know that. A cursory look at how Hollywood Operates tells you that.

 

I so so hope it's true, that the Skywalker Saga lives beyond IX.

 

The difference could be that for the fourth trilogy there will be no time gap and the characters will the same. I could see even Kylo surviving.

 

Another trilogy, heck, even another saga of trilogies - but perlease - another frickin' era with new characters. Expand the lore, don't just carry on the story indefinitely.

 

I thought this was just assumed from the get-go. The amount of money that the Star Wars brand will bring the Disney company will definitely be enough for them to continue the main saga.

 

This is starting to feel like deja vu but yes I agree with you that there will at some point be a fourth trilogy following on from this one.

However I really hope they leave a few years (easily fill-able with anthologies or even standalone trilogies set in different time periods etc) so that there's some more dramatic potential and we see the characters (ie the new big three) a little older and affected by the passage of time.

Also who knows how the acting careers of the new gang will go. They might want out (or at least a break) before doing another three movies.

I guess very little is set in stone at this point.

 

or a small gap like 10 years break and then New 3 (assuming all 3 survive the ST) come back as main characters, like the ST was almost with the OT3 in their prime.

 

Pretty much they wouldnt stop no matter because worse comes to worse I dont think Star Wars would be a total flop like say Green Lantern it be like Man of Steel not great enough to the standards.

So yeah if this trilogy under performed we get a new one with a new cast after a waiting period. This trilogy is a success then we get a new trilogy with less waiting and this cast back again.

 

Man, I really miss the days when stories had beginnings and endings.

10 Year is not a small break in Hollywood. 10 Years would require total failure.

 

You'll see Episode X in 2021

 

so the cast is signing for 6 movies???

 

If there are three years between IX and X consider yourself lucky.

No way they are waiting 10 years.

 

Maybe Boyega and Ridley would do more, but I can't imagine Oscar Isaac signing his life away.

 

I prefer some break before coming back to X, to go to X 2 years after IX is a bit too much.
