The Clone Wars and Rebels have both had official soundtrack releases (neither on CD, though, which upsets me as a CD collector). Just for the sake of completeness, how does anyone feel about the soundtracks to the animated Ewoks and Droids series? I remember looking up the composers of Ewoks for contact information, but at least one of them, Patricia Cullen, is dead. The others are David W. Shaw and Patrick Gleeson, the latter of which, at least, is apparently still alive.

The composer of the theme song, Taj Mahal, doesn't list it anywhere in his discography.

I don't think I knew that was Taj Mahal. The Droids theme was performed by Stewart Copeland of The Police, too (he co-wrote it with Derek Holt). High-profile artists, yet no soundtrack release.

And just to mention it here: Patricia Cullen and David W. Shaw also worked on Droids, as did another composer named David Greene.

I think it was terrible how Droids' 80s electronic music was completely replaced in The Pirates and the Prince video release, with some horrible generic 90's baby cartoon music.

    Yeah, hear the horribleness.

This is an insult in so many ways. The same happened with Ewoks, where the original soundtrack was something like Deep Forest stuff.

There is nothing worse than 90's midi-orchestral music.

Do you think Lucasfilm has the original audio assets archived? They didn't produce either series themselves, but they were able to replace the music much later for the edited-together video features without completely disrupting dialogue or sound effects (though as I understand it, there were some audio errors made as a result). Maybe the original soundtrack could be released...but releasing the actual series first would make more sense (why can't they just slap the "Legends" logo on a DVD or BD like they do with the old books?).

At the very least it looks like the theme songs for both (the first one, in the case of Ewoks) were released as a 7" promo single...in Spain.

This is really an entertaining video, the fact that they did wear a costume is a bomb.

Here is the original version as recorded by Stewart Copland. Imagine being the drummer of The Police and being asked to write the theme song for a new SW cartoon starring the droids!

Steppin' softly in a danger zone
    No weapon in my hand
t's just this brain, designed by man
It's got me in trouble again
    In trouble again
I put my life in jeopardy
In the service of my friends
    I wouldn't care but it's a dangerous affair

'Cause I’m in trouble again, trouble again
In trouble, in trouble, in trouble
