I don’t think anyone in Xenoblade thread would have minded but I didn’t want to trip post..

I bought a Wii U from GameXchange today way earlier and we were just starting to hook it up and a noticed that the damn ac adapter clearly caught fire before as the plug in is black and the prong has a sheared off tip. Ugh so now I have to hope they have more and will replace it for me cause no way am I plugging that in to the wall! Are these things super prone/known to catch fire?

I really don’t want to have to order one off Amazon and I don’t see how this plug passed resale inspection.

 

I may have started to hit that - at Del Pharis castle.

It's strange in that the game sometimes does do good haptic feedback, but is erratic on it. A better indicator of an arte hit would really help on use of Mystic Artes. As it is they've made them far too difficult to pull off.

At the same time it will be too often hard to see what is going on and where the attacks are coming from. It places emphasise on dodging but impairs view of attack and ability to do so.

The strike attack that requires a certain combo level resets whenever it damn well likes. There's no system to it. A recent boss fight threw in a d-pad directional change when all previous uses of it were up only, but also put the indicator so high up on the screen I couldn't see the change.

If it actually stuck to its own rules and systems it'd be fantastic. As it is, it frequently ignores those with bosses being uninterruptable and unblockable. And the camera can't keep up with the action. It adds up to a game relying on cheap tricks for a sense of "challenge" it doesn't need.

Outside of all this? It's good but it could be better.

 

Is this a console game or one of those FTP mobile games that eat up your storage and battery?

 

Shaggy is playable? Well that’s not going to be a very balanced game.

Obviously this is satire but it's hard not to at least appreciate the message it's trying to convey.

Stellaris like most 4X games seems to be about playing and getting badly beaten and struggle and then you suddenly 'get' it.

With the new expansion, I floundered through about 5 games... and in this one, I have a number of vassals, a massive fleet, and a member of the largest federation in the galaxy. (I'm coming up on the mid-game crisis, however, and I rarely do well in those)

 

So in the ongoing saga of Microsoft and Sony's everything you can do, I can do better jabs, apparently Microsoft will soon launch an application where users can customize their backgrounds on the Xbox Series X; something that the PS4 has had for awhile now but Sony has yet to release for the PS5.

 

Damn, RedOut 2 bumped to 16 June.

I understand why it has been, but 26 May would have been perfect as I'm off next week.

Then again, I can wait to bleed my eyes in 15 minute sections.

Yes, we know video games don't usually translate well into series and/or films. But I'm still cautiously optimistic and even excited about the HFD/HFW one.

 

TV is a much better format for something that is told over tens of hours than a movie

I like that; returning to its roots at least for one year in honor of the game's namesake. I haven't bought a new Madden game in years, maybe decades (I don't know if I ever bought a new one for a Playstation console, but I did have it for the Sega Genesis). I have at least one version of the game in my PS library. I know they haven't used his actual commentary in years.
