I haven't actually been to games for a while but I imagine it is mostly:

    * People pretending they liked Battlefront II and defending it
    * People wanting a Fallout 4/GTA/Skyrim/other game set in the Star Wars universe

    Fair assumption?

BF2 is a fine SW FPS (reasonably good single player campaign plot), and an average arcade flight sim.

Star Wars but it’s actually just Riichi mahjong, not even SW themed.

Every Star Wars game needs a zombie mod.

Oh and the most recognisable voice in the world voices the Wolf of Sparta in AC Odyssey...

Okay, ACO provided what has to be my gaming moment of the year. I started the Daughters of Artemis questline, which starts off with you having to go toe to toe with a man-sized boar. I managed to defeat it by making it rag doll a hundred feet away with a Spartan kick to the backside.

That Spartan kick might be the best mechanic I've come across. Just recalling some of my adventures with it:

    * I've cleared out two whole fortresses now where I occupy a high point and just taunt people to me so I can kick them to their death
    * I kicked two pigs to death by mistake when a fight broke into their pen
    * I kick as many people as I can into the ocean when boarding enemy ships
    * I snuck up on a majestic deer, poised nobly on a cliff side so I could kick it off the edge
    * I accidentally kicked my horse once

I've heard horror stories about game studios overworking their employees before, but even by those standards this is insane.

Should've diverted resources from releasing GTA content-for-shark-cards IMO

I can't wait to play a game on the PC that they refuse to announce will be on that platform because of an overblown fear of upsetting platformers, that's a sequel to a game we weren't allowed to play on PC, and is guaranteed to have no additional single-player content beyond the initial game itself!

Oh you're allowed to play Red Dead Redemption on PC.

You just have to stream the PS3 version through Playstation Now.

I've worked that on TV before and not been paid overtime. One of the reasons I don't do that anymore.

Yeah... that's what they said about GTA V, too.

PCs are too much of a source of money nowadays.

And don't be sorry, I rather you were right and PC gamers weren't wasting their time on R2D2 or whatever.

I don't think they ever said GTA V wasn't coming to PC. They just didn't want to give a date for it, which at the time fuelled "will they/won't they" speculation but actually just turned out to be tied to the Next Gen graphical and interface updates (i.e. FPS view).

EDIT: Hence it was it was like a Q3 or Q4 2013 Potato release, a November 2014 Slightly Less Potato Potato release, and then an April 2015 Glorious PC Master Race release.

GTA V was fun to play through once on single player. Shame all new content was for the multiplayer only.

Especially when you consider that Rockstar have a pretty good track record of making solid DLC.

Unfortunately microtransactions have proven to be a far more effective method of monetisation than DLC ever was. Hence why EA oh so generously decided to make all future Star Wars Battlefront content free for everyone, before dropping the DLC roadmap like its hot once they disabled the ability to use real money to buy loot boxes.

If RDR2's multiplayer is as successful as GTAV's, then I'm starting to suspect that R* might not even bother with a single player component in their games in the future. Why give anyone a single player sandbox when you can funnel everyone directly into the microtransaction laden online playspace?

To be fair, GTA O has offered sandbox racing, and some amazingly well realised heists to an audience that otherwise wouldn't get to do them. Credit where it's due.

Sounds like after 12 dark years UbiSoft finally realised they had absolute gold in Dark Messiah of Might and Magic's kicking mechanics.

The kick is just designed as a crowd control move; if you're surrounded, punting a foe away is just good for managing the threats. It also deals nonlethal damage, which helps for recruiting defeated Athenians, Spartans, bandits, mercenaries etc to your motley crew.

@Point Given - played 3 rounds of duos last night, with an Australian mate. He was unfortunately not getting any kills, but I got 4 - 3- 4 and top top 10s out of it

You know the area in El Azahar I've taken us to, with the grey building and firehouse? Right on the outskirts? Just south of that is a warehouse:

Circle was contracting around that so we went there and prone camped in the skip bins (dumpsters) outside. Man nothing freaks people out like assuming they're clear and you pop up and say hello with an AK.

Yeah, finishing all the (FPS) Fallout games before Fallout 76 isn't going to happen. [face_laugh]

... I'm just about halfway through the DLCs for Fallout 3. I'll be lucky to finish that game prior to Oct 30th...
