Scene: After a meeting where Luke promises to go after Obi-Wan, who is being held by the Empire. Mace speaking to Luke regarding letting Luke in on the mission, even knowing what Luke would do, against their advice

?It was I. My decision,? said Mace Windu, at length.

Luke looked at him in astonishment.

Mace looked the young man over, his gaze somehow sad. ?Obi-Wan and I were friends once. I always did regret how we treated him after your father?s fall. He endured our scorn but I knew it caused him much pain.? Mace paused. ?Perhaps,? he said regretfully, ?I have simply realized at long last that the Jedi were once compassionate and cared for the individual as much as any large group of people.? The other Jedi filed out serenely and silently, the Jedi Master?s words apparently coming as no surprise. Mace paused at the door. ?And for whatever you are or whatever you will be, you are our last hope.?

He walked out the door.

"Oh man," Rachel complained, looking at the sheer impenitrability of the wall, "That's a toughie."

Aidan slammed his fist against the sheer black surface and a metallic bang was all that his efforts produced.

"What the hell are we going to do now?" he moaned, crossing his arms angrily across his chest.

"Um, hello? We're Jedi here!" Rachel reminded him, "And no matter how wussy you think I am, I can still get us through."

Aidan's glanced flicked to Ami, who was beginning to look kind of scared.

"Allow me," Rachel said, unclipping the black cermanic lightsaber at her belt.

Aidan's eyes widened as she ignited it, tried to spin it in a circle, and promptly dropped the deadly weapon.

"Um... do you really know how to use one of those?" he asked suspiciously, his eyes narrowing.

"No," Ami remarked, a resigned expression on her face.

"Of course!" Rachel smiled, bending to pick up her blade, "I'm as good as one week of experience can make a person!"

"I feel so reassured," Aidan grumbled sarcastically.

"Yeah, lucky you."

"For OUR baby," he purred and suddenly lifted her into his arms. "I have OTHER plans for you..."

"Breakfast?" she asked him coyly.

"Breakfast," he agreed, carrying her back to their bed. "And something to eat afterwards..."

?Yané, I?m fine, no need to worry.? Saré protested, but she still insisted on inspecting the angry red burn on Saré?s chest. Saré removed her blouse, allowing Yané to see the wound.

?We just pray that Anakin doesn?t come in while Yané?s doing this.? Rabé joked a few moments later.

?But what would be wrong with that?? An amused, slightly accented voice came from a corner, making them all jump. Saré hurriedly pulled the sheets up, blushing furiously.

Anakin just gave them a cocky grin. It took them a minute, but his grin was erased as Saré?s head landed on the bed with a small thud, and Anakin was beaten with pillows.

?Alright! Alright! I?m leaving!? And with that he scuttled out of the room. Padmé locked the door.

I have no shame.

Master Yoda is always good for a laugh. In my fanfic Along the Edges (take the link below), Padme is about to give birth to Luke and Leia on Dagobah and my original character has just arrived to break the bad news that they have been followed to the swamp-planet:

Doona finally found a strange mud house sitting on a moss-covered knoll. He ducked into the entrance out of breath. "I hate to be the bearer of bad news," he said. "But there is another ship coming in system." He pushed in the supply pack he brought with him. "I'm going to go check it out."

"No," Yoda said from the firepit at the far side of the hut. "This I must take care of." He looked at Padme who was laying back on a heavily cushioned pallet by the fire. "Not be here I will." He reached for a robe hanging from a spot on the wall; his lightsaber was already at his belt. "Mind the exercises I have taught you. Help they will."

Yoda and Doona squeezed by each other. "Ready soon she will be. Training have you I trust?"

Doona raised an eyebrow. "You're asking me now?" he smiled.

Yoda grunted as he exited the minature dwelling. "Sarcasm. Need that you do not."

Leia found some dried flowers, another holopad that contained the same holographs as the booklet found on Tatooine, a couple commendation letters, and finally a datadisk.

Leias hands shook as she read the title of it, "To my husband Ani."

"Artoo come over here. Luke?"

Luke reached down and placed hands on her shoulders, "I'm here Leia."

Artoo beeped and received the disk, he pointed his spotlight on a table and a large image of Padme appeared before them. Her face looked pale, pained and frightened. She was still pregnant.

"Ani- I hope things will turn out so that this message will be unnecessary. Naboo is under attack. I am leaving the planet shortly with the assistance of Master Jedi Windu. I only hope all goes well and I will escape and be able to give birth to our child in peace. If I do not make it, if we are killed..."Padme placed her hands on her stomach tears swelling in her eyes, she inhaled and began to speak again.

"I want you to know that I love you more than life itself. You are the best thing that ever happened to me. Your sweetness and love gave me renewed purpose in life. Anakin, Ani listen to me. I know you will be in pain. I know how hard you will take my, our, death. But you have to realize there is a reason, and that although you are now hurting, the pain will subside, and you will go on. Do not let yourself fester or wallow in your grief over losing me. Although we only had a couple brief years together, they were the best years of my life. You have so much love to give the galaxy. You must go on without me. The galaxy needs you. The Jedi Order needs you. Your mentors will be there to comfort you. They love you. I will always love you?" Padme kissed her fingers and reached out to the holoemitter. "I love you Anakin Skywalker, my darling Ani." Padme started to full on cry and the image ended.

There wasn't a dry eye in the house. Sola blew her nose and looked up at Padme's children. "Anakin never got that message."

"Well obviously she didn't die, because we are here." Leia said.

"I'm sorry, I just don't know what happened," Sola said.

Han sat down next to his wife and comforted her. "Each time I think I'm starting to better see things that went on with my parents, things just get cloudier."

Jaina looked at her mother and said, "We've just started this quest Mom. I promise you. One day we will know everything that happened."

Han looked up at his daughter and saw something in her face he hadn't really seen in a long time: purpose and determination.

REDEMPTION OF A JEDI

Scene of Cam Mulonus and Jak gilgam hiding behind a speeder and getting down a manhole.

Jak removed the manhole cover and jumped in. Cam heard a thud and a stifled "Yow!". Idiot! Cam thought. He got in the manhole and went down the ladder. He pulled the cover over the hole. Cam made a mental note the the speeder's driver was still cleaning up the mess.

Cam made it to the dimly lit floor. HE saw Jak on the ground, holding his ankle and gasping in pain. "You know," Cam said in a soft, yet stern voice, " they put LADDERS in the manhole shafts for a reason!"

Jak got up and limped over to Cam. "Well, you could've told me that before I jumped down!"

Cam sighed. "You've been watching too many action flicks on the holonet. Follow my lead from now on, kay?"

Jak followed Cam as the went down the hallway.

Of all the things, she certainly was not expecting Jag to ask that. ?I know it?s a lot but I didn?t want to wait until later, especially if there is no later.? Jag murmured as Jaina suddenly grabbed him and kissed him passionately. When she pulled back, Jag had to gather his bearings, ?So, is that a ?yes???

Jaina smiled, kissing his cheek and whispered, ?Affirmative,? she paused, standing close to him, ?I would really love to celebrate, but we?re both kinda of in a bind right now.?

Jag nodded, staring back at her in awe, ?Um, later?s fine. When?? he croaked.

?My quarters, my room,? she purred.

I don?t remember it all, but I was surrounded by this weird blue color, while strange guy with a dark bushy beard and a plaid shirt shouted at me to do it again only faster and more intense.

I just like this line because I love the music it goes with. And now I can't think of one without the other. And I wouldn't want too.

Anyway this is from my short story Interlude

It's a light romance, which is the first and only one I've done thus far.

The music swelling, MysAri could feel her heart beating rapidly in her chest. Breathlessly, she held his firm gaze and swirled in the palpable ardor. A lull almost brought her to a frenzy. <Please don?t let this end.> Diving into the enchantment again they graced the spectators with their elegance. His suave style escorted her around the dance floor. Building to a crescendo the music finally crested and then suddenly everything stopped.

The bolded line is what I get in my head.


J_K - I almost fell out of my seat when I saw Daleks mentioned on your interview. "Exterminate!!" lol

Knight_Ander - I love the sig, but one of our fav lines from 'Life less Ordinary' is "Mirror, signal, maneuver."

Wedge had seen the way the young man [Valin] looked at his oldest daughter, and he had no wish for them to be in a ship alone, but it was the best option. If that kid even thinks about touching Syal... For a moment, Wedge entertained the notion of Valin, encased in carbonite, hanging from his living room wall.

However, his practical side chose that moment to surface. Carbonite was much to expensive right now. Hiring a Wookie to rip him limb from limb would be much cheaper.

I recently found a trilogy that is filled with some of the cleverest, wittiest lines I've ever read My personal fav. has been Serenity, but Devotion and Revelation are both excellent, too These stories are by JPS (Jedi-Princess-Solo), and this is just one of my many favorite little excerpts from her stories:

Jag's jaw dropped. "Janson?" he groaned.

"Nice to see you, too, Fel," Wes Janson called dryly.

"It's not too late for us to pretend we thought he was an ugly and shoot him down," Sharr commented sarcastically.

"Mine?" Jaina scoffed. "Look at yours! Wik finally gets married, and to a holoactress nonetheless! He's like a Baron Fel clone!"

Jag smirked back at her. "No, your uncle already met all of my father's clones, remember?"

 

That's one of my favorite parts!! I love JPS' stuff. It's all so great.

Here's an interesting little moment from a fic of mine...

Valin Horn had never been more shocked in his life, well, maybe once. There was that time with the Gand and the Twi'lek...

"You're not really Tanna Starlight, are you?" he asked her, she shook her head no. Her red-gold hair danced about her cheeks.

"Sorry, that's not my name. But I am still me."

"Who are you?"

"Taylor..." Valin's eyes began to widen, "Taylor Skywalker."

The young Corellian Jedi gave up and promptely passed out and hit the floor with a loud thud. Taylor sighed and started to drag him back into her apartment.
