Fanfic Trivia - Year Three

Yes, it's that time of year again to show off your knowledge of fanfiction by playing the fanfic trivia game.

As in past years, if you want to play you can compete individually or with a partner. Temporary VIP status will be given out to reward the winner(s) - two weeks for each member of a team or three weeks for someone playing any winning all on their own - as well as a title to announce what game you've won.

This is not a sign-up thread (I'll create one of those in a day or two), but is intended to alert people to start lining up a teammate as well as allowing the newer members of the fanfic community to ask questions about the game and how it'll be played.

I'm still in the process of gathering a few last questions, so don't anybody get too excited yet. The game won't start for another week or so.

Well, I'm technically not a newbie here, but I only have a vague memory of this game. Is this the one where we have questions like, "In what story is Obi-Wan chased out of a tree by a rabid squirrel?" or "Who wrote Gungan Gangstas"?

Yes. To encourage cross-reading, questions will come from all of the story forums and there may even be questions pertaining to individual fanficcers as well.

Jade, what a delightful plot bunny there! (Or should I say, plot squirrel? ) I think you should write that. Of course, one must ask what Obi was doing in the tree in the first place ... oh wait, he was escaping from Gungan Gangstas!



And now a serious question: Herman - am I right in understanding that teams can only be two people, and not more?

 

That's correct, only two people per team can officially play.


Now if you have a bunch of lackeys who are willing to help you out and who don't mind remaining anonymous while you hog all the glory, then as long as you're sneaky about it, that's okay.

Can I sign up with my partner from last year?

 

Once the game starts, you'll have just over a week to find as many answers as you can and submit them to me via PM. The game will start on a Friday and end Sunday night on the next weekend. That way you'll all have two weekends to play the game.


LP, did you win last year? For the second game I forbid only the winners from Year One from teaming up again, but I don't think there'll be any restriction on partners this year.

Yeah, that's fine.

The main reason I did it for the second game was to prevent another blowout like there was for the first game.

But given that last year required a tiebreaker to sort out the eventual winner, that won't be necessary.
