I like Arwen! To be a little different from the LOTR character, you could spell it "Arwon," although I don't know it that's a nickname or just spelling out the designation. Rika and Riki could work too, I also like Rikku (but that name is also from another fandom).

Wasn't Arwen first used in LotR? I'm pretty sure that anyone who's seen or read that series would immediately associate it with LotR and get pulled out of the story for a moment. Sort of similar to how George Lucas had Wookiees make Tarzan sounds in episodes 3 and 6.

I suggest use a combination of Artoo and Arwen, maybe something like Artwen

After thinking it over, for the various reasons noted above, I think I’m going to end up going with one of my other options, Rika (R1-K4). Thank you all for weighing in! :)

    some questions:

    * have we seen grey skinned humans/near-humans? EDIT: beside the rattataki

    * have we seen yellow skinned humans/near-humans?

    * have we seen any non-human species that can be described as crocodile like? (and I mean crocodile, not just reptillian)

    * did the group of slavers that Jango Fett was owned by for a time ever get a name? They had unified look of black leather and swirling tattoos if I remember right.

For a Spider-man AU fic idea where the characters're living in Hong Kong, do people have any suggestions on how to rename: Eugene "Flash" Thompson, Julia Carpenter and/or Jessica Drew - if we work with that they are at least partly Chinese?

I'm looking for some land-bound vehicles larger than speeders in the SW universe. They can have repulsorlifts, just not really anything that can leave the atmosphere. All I can find on Wookieepedia are space-capable ships...

I'm looking for a heavily armored transport that's trying to break through enemy lines, but not necessarily an Episode 1-style droid tank. Though if that's all we have to go on, I'll use that as a base description I suppose.

    Thanks in advance!

Grammar specialists, I need your help!

I have a terrible problem with commas, please help!

The sentence in quotes, below. I need help with it. Are the commas wrong?

"She ignited her lightsaber, which lit the stairs, walls, and ceiling in her immediate vicinity with its red light, as she cautiously descended into the seeming abyss."

Confirmation commas are correct, but I think that sentence can be rearranged or shortened to avoid the comma issues altogether.

True. The parenthetical info could be in a sentence on its own.
She ignited her lightsaber as she cautiously descended into the seeming abyss. The stairs, walls, and ceiling in her immediate vicinity glowed with its red light.

Ubese is one of those specis that the creators don't seem to be able to agree on the look of, f.ex. here is their look in Wizards of the Coast's Alien Anthology
    [IMG]

While Ultimate Alien Anthology had them looking just like humans
    [IMG]

I would say that trandoshans and saurins are more dinosaur or lizard like then crocodile.

Do people understand what I mean if I describe a worlds technological level (OoU) as daVinci-punk?
