Everybody who has been in more than one film - for some reason, I gained respect for a character when they appeared again, eg. Wedge, Lando, Piett.

And from TFA, Finn, Rey and Poe. By the above criteria, I suppose I should include Nein Nunb and Admiral Ackbar, as they have appeared in both ROTJ and this, but the Sullustan was pretty forgettable in the second film.

I would not be at all surprised if Ackbar was the character I quoted the most.

Luke was my hero growing up (so much so that I named my account after him here) but I think my favorites are somewhere torn between Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, they just have so much material and development poured into them that it's hard to choose others. I've also grown really fond of the characters from The Force Awakens too - Rey has become one of my favorite characters. She's such an enigma.

1. Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader: I don’t think there’s a more interesting troubled character. For the fans who haven’t, read the Revenge of the Sith novelization immediately!
2. Obi-Wan Kenobi: the ideal mentor. Excellent played by Ewan McGregor (in Revenge of the Sith) and Alec Guinness.
3. Luke Skywalker: the hero with whom you can identify.
4. Han Solo: I think he is the main reason people like the originals more than the prequels. However, I don’t think Episode II and III were suitable for a Han Solo type (when your whole government is brought down and when almost all the good guys are slaughtered, you aren’t in need of comic relief. Well, at least I wasn’t).
5. Darth Sidious/Emperor Palpatine.
6. Qui-Gon Jinn.
7. Mace Windu.
8. Darth Maul (but he dies in The Phantom Menace. I don’t like if events from the movies are changed to satisfy fans).
9. Padmé Amidala.
10. Yoda.
11. Leia Organa.


Sorry guys, but I can’t mention one single character from The Force Awakens with whom I feel an emotional connection. It was all too rushed, because it was too focused on pleasing the masses (in my opinion, of course).

 

Obi-Wan is also my #1 favorite character in the saga.
