Favorite Star Wars Character To Collect Lots Of?

I've been genuinely curious for a long time now, about which Star Wars character people like to collect lots of, like you go out of your way to buy things of a particular character because if you just collect what currently releases you will obviously end up with multiples of Darth Vader, Mando, and Grogu lol. I personally have two, my first and main one I would say is Captain Phasma. My obsession with collecting Captain Phasma started in November of 2015, the very first paycheck I ever got, I used to buy a giant-sized Captain Phasma figure and that's really what started it all for me. Granted there have been ups and downs for my Phasma collection because, in the two films she appears in, she doesn't really do a whole lot which is really unfortunate because the design of Phasma is amazing, and Gwendoline Christie is a fantastic actress. So naturally over time, Phasma started receiving less and less merch to collect. However, with time my obsessed collector brain has gone into overdrive with Phasma because now I don't just collect the figures (which I've collected every slight variation of). I collect everything with her on it. The 3 strangest pieces of Phasma merch that I've bought so far have been 3 of the 4 Phasma dog toys that Petco released back in 2017. The second thing would be a shiny purse that was designed to look like Phasma. I myself am not a woman so I have no real need for such a thing other than to just look really cool in my collection lol. The craziest thing I've gotten so far of Phasma is a Captain Phasma-branded box of Jello from 2017. I've also slowly have been getting any Topps card of Phasma or any of her cards for the Star Wars Destiny game or really any of those Star Wars card games. I could literally be here all day talking about all the pieces of Phasma merch I have but I don't want to waste everybody's time with constant Phasma flexing lol. I know Phasma might be a bit of a weird choice, but I feel such a high whenever I add a Phasma collectible to my collection. The second character I have been collecting a lot of lately is Darth Vader. Vader is my favorite Star Wars character period. Like you really can't get better than Vader, but with him I'm most just collecting all his 3.75-inch figures. As you can imagine there are a ton of them lol. It's pretty fun to see the evolution of Vader figures. (Just as a little side note, I also collected everything Phantom Menace so naturally I have a lot of Qui Gon Jinn, Darth Maul, and Jar Jar things as well).

 

Well I have Two so forgive me Revan and Yoda are my weaknesses but I am also very Partial to Kit Fisto and Plo-Koon

 

All four of these are absolutely fantastic picks. Revan merch seems harder to come by, but I bet it's so worth it when something really awesome releases.

I collect everyone. My highest paid item is a Sideshow 1/6 scale Jabba the Hutt. Lol. Although Padme and Leia will get my money first. I buy things that mostly look like the characters.

I love the prequels and the good guys from the other films. I love the heroes and Darth Vader because I love Anakin.

I love Rey and Finn also. Oh yeah and the darned trouble making little gremlin.

 

I'm less of a "collector" collector, but with regards my favourite characters, whenever there's new merchandise made of them, I'm a heck of a lot more tempted than usual. The most duplicates / variants I own are therefore Jango Fett, Boba Fett, and Jar Jar Binks.

Well, actually, that's not true. I think the most duplicates I own are gonna be B1 Battle Droids. That's thanks to The Phantom Menace being one of my favourite movies, and the fact that LEGO practically give 'em away, more frequently than Stormtroopers. Hold on, I'm gonna go and do a quick headcount... right, between three Black Series figures, several older examples, my Micro Machines Action Fleet playsets, a big Sideshow Collectibles one riding a STAP, and all my LEGO minifigs, I own sixty. Yeah. Okay. Never done that before. I think I have a problem.

I also went a bit nuts when The Bad Batch came out, and have most of the Season One stuff (all of the Black Series figures, LEGO sets, and Funko Pops).

 

I do have some shelves set up that are character centric. I have a large Yoda shelf that includes my life-sized Yoda, 2 Queen Amidala shelves, and shelves for C-3PO and R2-D2. WheneverI get my room reorganized I'll likely have dedicated shelf space for Ahsoka, Bo-Katan, and Grogu.

 

The character who’s most represented in my collection is Darth Maul. I like the character and the aesthetic makes for a great collectible. I’ve also got a few versions of Darth Vader, Bossk and Jango Fett. I know it’s a bunch of different characters, but I buy a lot of Clone Troopers.

Personally, I don’t focus too much on specific characters when I’m browsing collectibles. I tend to pivot towards a good likeness or (in the case of statues or busts) a good pose.

 

Focusing on detail is always a good way to go

 

I'll always buy a vader but I don't have loads. I'm a big darth revan fan do I have both the BS and VC releases of late. I have the VC and BS jedi revan too.

I have about 6 chewies and only about 3 han solos

 

I also am a huge Darth Revan fan I also have all the Revan merch.

I've seen some kick butt collections that are only Darth Vader-centric.

 

True there are alot of nice Vader collections out there

 

Ahsoka Tano and Boba Fett definitely stand out in my collection. I have SO MANY Ahsoka items such as figures, statues, pop vinyls, posters, Lego, collectibles, etc.
Boba Fett always used to be my most collected but I think she’s overtaken that spot now.
Kit Fisto is another character I’ll always buy. Love his design.
