    Hi! Looks good so far.

    Do you use Photoshop?
If you do, I could tell you how to make images fade into the background. (Okay, to be honest, Faofa told me how to do it....)

Hey, FelsGoddess! I'm glad you decicded to share some of your art! :D

You have a very interesting take on fan fiction covers - I really like it! I love how you take certains images and scenes from the films and impliment them into the work like a freezeframe. The one that does this the best is the one with Padme and the green background.

The only thing I see that could be improved upon is cutting out objects. What tool are you using to cut them out? They're very pixelated around the edges.

But overall, I like what you've done here! Great job! :D

Chilla Yes, I do use Photoshop. I haven't used it that long. Oh, if you tell me how to do that, I'd really appreciate it. :) Thanks!

HanSolo29 My favorite is the green one with Padme, also. :) I've just been erasing around the edges to cut out objects. I just started using Photoshop, so I'm learning. Thanks!

Hi, Fels! Nice to see you here!

I think you've made a great start. I particularly like the Sword of the Jedi - the background effect draws your eyes into the picture and give it depth. To me, that gives the message some power.

I'm also fond of your two icons: The Falcon - always an icon, and I like this one for many of the same reasons as the SOTJ (above). The SOTJ icon at the bottom is very nice, the picture and the words.

Excellent! You're going to come up with some great stuff - I can't wait to see it!

oldjedinurse Thanks! :) The SOTJ icon was the very first one I made. I'm glad it turned out well.

FELSGODDESS!!! YOU'VE COME TO JOIN US!!!!!!

I liked the wicked one (that was super good)

I def can't do the comp. art and these are awesome.

My suggestion though is to make th last two bigger. They were tiny but otherwise they were great!

I made this background. I think its missing something, but I'm not sure what. It seems incomplete to me.

Its beautiful, Fels! The "incomplete" feeling I have is that the background is too simple, almost too "blank". Perhaps more contrast between Padme and the background would help? I wouldn't change the color (the blue is gorgeous with her costume). Maybe blend some more scenes behind her? Just my two fairly worthless creds.

I love the Padme picture you chose here - that's one of Trisha Biggar's "prettier" costumes, IMHO.

    Hiya Fels! :D

    Few comments:

The background in the "He did it all ... for love" picture doesn't suit the images or the font colour IMO. The purple text clashes with the green and I think a different colour (and a much lighter shade) would look better. It would also make the text easier to read. The 'pen' tool in photoshop is very useful for cutting out objects. It allows you to place dots around your object which then connect together so you can make a selection. Then you can delete the background so the object/person stays, or vice versa. I've used it many times, I've found it to work very well. You can also zoom right in and slowly lasso your way around. Look these two tools up in the Photoshop Help index and you'll get a better understanding of them.

I agree with oldjedinurse; try blending some scenes or characters together, and adding them to your background. Even some scenery blended in from the movies could work out well. I like how you've 'erased' some of the edges in the four pictures around her -- it makes them more interesting. One thing that really annoys me is how the bottom of Padme is suddenly cut off. I'd recommend moving her down to the bottom. The blue does look lovely with her. Instead of having the four images as small squares, you could try having them blend with one another in the background, with the blue. Or you could even make some of the images 'blue'. Lots of possibilities. Just experiment. Another idea is looking at other people's wallpapers for inspiration. In 'beautiful disaster' Jaina looks bad with the bottom cut off. I think it also makes it look sloppier. You can use another character or object to overlap some of her.

Out of all the pictures, I like "wicked" the most. You chose some good pictures, and I like the way you've done the text in the middle. I noticed you've used the same bevelled effect on some of the images. Try other blending options too.

About your icons: Frankly, they are too hard to both see and read. The picture of the Falcon (IMO) is too small, so is the text. In the Jaina one, the text is waaaay too hard to read, and she is too dark. Brighten her up, and always make sure the images are not too blurry. These are problems that many icon artists on the boards come across, even myself.

Sorry I 'picked' at your work so much, but I honestly think it will help you out. Once you get to know photoshop better you'll find new ways of expressing your ideas. :)

My suggestion though is to make the last two bigger. They were tiny but otherwise they were great!

Aren't icons meant to be small? ;) The JC ones are even smaller.

Looking forward to your next update, Fels.

oldjedinurse Hmm, I'll try something with the background. Thanks. I love that costume. :)

dashleebo I don't have photoshop. [face_plain] I'll see what my program has. I'm going to do some work with the background and see what that does. The wicked one is definitly one of my best. Thanks. :)

    Chilla Thanks! :)

    Jaina_Jag_Index Okay. :)

I think you are doing great for just learning.

I like that first cover art and the Anakin?s Angel pic. Very cute. Keep them coming, you can learn a lot by just playing around in photoshop.
