Females unleashed -is it appropriate?

Ok, I like the Padme and the new Leia, but my question is....isnt Hasbro and LFL going a little to far? What I mean, is that these are on shelves in TRU and Padme is having a cold moment and the back of slave Leia is showing half her backside. I'm just surprised that I'm seeing with on a SW product, especially since the toy market is aimed at kids. They wouldnt be if they wernt in TRU. The Padme isnt too bad, but I was a little shocked at the sculpt of Leia, it doesnt leave much to the imagination. Yes thats a good thing, but wow, if I was a parent and my kid asked for it, one word NO. Now if it was for me, thats one thing, plus I'm 30 and dont get offended, but I dont think it is appropriate for anyone 14 and under. What are your thoughts?

I looks to me as if the Unleashed figures are more aimed at older collectors than childern. They have no play value at all they just sit there. Plus I know that as parent I would be aware of what my child is playing with. I will be getting Leia. I was planning on getting it long before I saw the back. Plus I think people make to much of a big deal out of Padme.

If you think that Leia is bad just go down to the mall and take a look at how young people dress today.

Ok, then why are they at your local toy store which are for children. Yes I know we all go in there, but toys are aimed at kids. And yes, the way kids dress these days, amazing? I dont know I just thought Leia was just a little overboard, but I'll probably getting her.

 

They are not doing anything that most other companies arnt already doing. Look at McFarlane Toys. The Spawn Series is horrid!

 

Yeah the Unleashed line is aimed at the older collecting market.

 

I agree with K3P0, the slave Leia is a little much. I think figures like that should not be sold at TRU but instead should be sold only at Collectible stores, through mail order catalogue, or online at the Hasbro site or the official site in a section titled "Adult Collectors."

 

I haven't even seen the Unleashed Leia, but I do have the Padme'. Could someone post a pic of the Leia? I do agree that they should sell the Unleashed figures at Collector stores and not at "family" type toy stores.

 

I'm probably slightly biased on this, but it is waaaayyy appropriate...

 

Ok. yes I do agree to the fact that the Leia
figure is a little... cheeky and family stores such as Toys R Us and Wal Mart should not be carrying it. I can see another Harry Potter broom situation brewing when this figure hits the stores next year.

I'm glad I did this thread, its great to see everyones opinion. I think its a great piece and I wouldnt mind having it. I like the idea that Mara had, maybe online stores or collector stores. But not for a family toy store, its pretty revealing.
