Ha haa--I just went crazy with the title I guess...[face_dancing] I'm just getting started with posting these here at TFN. I have already seen great stuff here and wanted to make a contribution as well!

This first one was all computer done (Microsoft Publishing Platinum 2000)---I like to tweak and play with pictures as well, but some others to follow are actual drawings I did...

This one is prismacolor and graphite. I provided the best pics I had--my scanner is not hooked up and these were actually taken with my webcam. I added the whole picture as well as a couple of close-ups.

Thanks! :D A fellow Mando fan??!!! cool!

I would really like to improve on drawing space backgrounds as well--not just creating them on comp. Yeah--I love how the colors work together---it's almost mezmerizing when I look at it...blues/purples are my favorites. Anything that is that cobalt blue color catches my attention and keeps it for a while.

Yeah, Mando'ade seem to be my current focus! Can't help it--I'm a major Mando fan! Thought about tackling Slave I next, but there's other characters I'd also like to try---I need to work on faces--not my strongest point.

A fairly faster drawing of Fett's helmet---this just took a couple of hours. Prismacolor. I got into an rpg and that seemed to spark my interests again so I started drawing again. This was from back in December.

As I said before, welcome to the Fan Art forum, FettFan79! :D

I can see you'll fit right into the community here. Your drawings here are very well done! I especially admire your color pencil skills in the Boba/Jango piece. That had to take some time to get the color to come on so smooth like that. It almost looks like paint or markers. I also love the color splashes you have going on in the sky and the Mandalore symbol coming out so prominant. Very nice!

That's also a really cute Boba Fett helmet. It's not a straight on portrai of the helmet but it's stylized. Very cool! Please be sure to post more! :)

Yo, FettFan! These are some great pieces! I wish you could get some larger versions of them up. Squinting makes all the detail go away! I like what I see so far. It looks like you've got some great skill.

Thanks for the props guys! I will try to get bigger versions up here--I might get my scanner going to take the pic to my Grandpa's to use his scanner, save to disk to get better images...

Here's something I worked on in plain Paint program along with Publishing Platinum. I did take the Fett part out of another picture I came across, but I tweaked it the the Platinum, put it into a Paint window, then added the rest. I just did this for fun and emailed it to a friend who has a birthday coming up.

Okay--here's a better pic of ROTM-----I took it to a picture scanner at a local store and had it transferred to cd. I think this is a much sharper image and a bit bigger too.(I like those machines);)

These are just very quick rough sketches of Slave I--different positions. No way a finished product, but I did notice on the lowest one, I am off---the ship skews to one side...That one I actually did from reference, but the middle one I just doodled from memory, but added a couple of things after I looked at a reference photo and saw a couple of things I left off. The top sketch is just to get an idea of landing position.

The better scan really brings out the detail in the Boba/Jango piece. Once again, very nice job on that one!

It's also cool to see inside your sketchbook once and a while. Those are pretty neat sketches of Slave I and such. Keep it up! :)

Glad to know that scan worked a bit better!

I have a couple of other drawings in the works---here is my start for another one but just Boba---I only started last night and worked on it a little today during my lunch break at work:

Thanks Daenna! Well, I got some more done on him, just tonight actually...I'm going to do something for the background, just not sure yet--probably mythosaur symbol, or something--I'll probably sketch something quick on another paper to decide...;) and...I just got my "Rise of the Mandalorians" pic matted and framed this past weekend so it is now ready for art shows...(the ones with a copycat category anyway as not my characters, just my composition)

I can't advise you for a background, haven't tried that yet on my own works :p

That sketch looks great so far! Can't wait to see you lay down some color on it and get the composition finalized.

Also, good luck with any art shows you may enter! :)

Thanks for the kinds words! I FINALLY have an update! I did most all of this coloring today---I have days like that --I keep working and don't want to stop! Not done--but I was trying to make it look as though Boba is coming out of a cave or something like that...on Tatooine I suppose...

Great job coloring in your sketch. It looks even better now. Can you upload larger versions of your drawings? They are kind of small.

    Thanks!

Um--I'll try to go bigger--I just now thought that maybe I can put the pic in my desktop publishing software, zoom it, and sharpen it---------these pics are best I can do with webcam-that's as big as webcam goes. If I make the webcam images any bigger, they really lose clarity.

The best pic I have of any was the scan I did at the store--but it still didn't get much bigger...

Wow, FettFan79--I just got in here to check out your stuff and am I impressed! =D= Great linework, excellent colored pencils (something I've only dabbled in and find exceedingly difficult!) and marvelous renderings of Boba and Jango! It always amazes me when someone can work so accurately with such detailed characters/figures, doing the costuming from memory--Boba Fett would be a real challenge for me, even with a hi-res reference, but you seem to have him down very well! The most recent piece is looking just great--I like Slave 1, perched up there on the rocks in the near distance--just a short jet-pack flight away for Fett! The scene itself is nicely composed, and it does look like Tatooine. Great stuff, and I'll be dropping in again to see more!

If that's as big as you've got, don't worry about it. It's better not to ruin the image quality, imo. Can't wait to see more. :)

I have had to use reference photos, but his costume varies in the movies, so I just put it together. Basically, this is the ROTJ version. My colors might not be right on, but I use about 4-5 different greens for the majority of his armor. The jetpack---I looked at a pic, but kinda did my own coloring thing---I know the colors are not as accurate on that. Thanks guys! I wanted to get Slave I in the pic somewhere, but after I already drew in the rocks, I thought maybe his ship could just perch on top. Up close, the "cave" shows a little more difference in colors--you can see a little more detail "inside" the cave--it isn't just a cut dark. I think I need a little more work with the sky now that I look at it again...But, I did take a couple of pics and here they are--I'll try to get more up close ones later (I gotta get ready for work this morning...). I tried to get on here last night to put this up for the March artists' challenge...

Aw that is so pretty, the colors blend really well together... I love how you managed to render it so nicely! Thanks to your photos I could try to see how you worked it out in detail.. But a scanner could be cool!

Please keep it up! I'd like to see Fett in various sitations as well.
