Next time though lets do the Sat and the Sun for those who can and want to - I think a couple of people said if they had known they would have come along on Sat night - and they would have had a blast too! Our 'Fan-Force Curry Club' went down a storm and the live band on the Sat night were great (memories of Spike_Thmid bopping along to the Chillis.....lol...there was a lot of bopping actually... ;-p)

Saturday night "Curry Night" was a laugh, especially touring round Sutton Coalfield to find some busy bars only to discover that the most lively place was our hotel - with a really good live band and "entertainment"

Unfortunately the "Tough Northerner" persona took a dent with "other" spike hugging the toilet on Sunday morning

Highlights of Sunday:

1. Meeting everyone (of course)
2. Tim's frisbee or was it a plastic plate ??
3. Jon's assault on Tim
4. Being totally wrong with the weather forecast

Dunno why you're complaining, you never even went in the bathroom after I was done

And anyway, I made up for it by carrying several squillion bottles of water in that heat later on

I had a great day even though I was 3 hours late, Sorry about that.

I had fun playing cricket and for Richie getting caught out by a girl,

My back is aching now but i think that was from playing with the football and getting attack by 3-4 men trying to take it off me. I had a few skills up my sleeve that they didn't expect. HA HA.

And Jon, It's my ball....

 

Poor Tim. Be nice, he has to give me colours for winning the quiz when he gets back.

And tricks up your sleeve, Meeka? Like trying to bite my arm off? I still have the teeth marks on my arm! And I got the ball in the end!

This little thing called 'work' and 'time' is giving me problems posting the pics up today...patience young Jedi...I had a sneak look liast night on my camera and theres some good shots - proably a few 'caption this' opportunities...

Didnt get any of :
- Ogli in suspenders
- Spike2002 'revisiting' his curry
- JonJedi's infamous white trainers
- Tim with a map or even a leaflet to hand (now thats a suprise!)
- Ritchie trying to bat
- TayMar trying to keep up with the youngsters
- RedGold doing one of her awesome throws
- etc, etc....

Some things are just better when you wait for them...

 

Jon, I didn't mean to bite your arm, you just wouldn't let go of the ball. You will live.

I let you have the ball in the end, stop moaning.

 

I learned early in the day it was pointless to chase Jon when he runs off with the ball. He has way too much energy.

I think we're all glad that we didn't have to see Ogli in suspenders, or me feeling the effects of vindaloo + too much beer.

Was a good day
Got a lot more done then I thought we would in the limited time, which was fun.

Football was fun, although I was limited in how I could play it due to foot trouble. Still, being goalie was fun.....and easy enough given the rubbish opposition

And yes, I was defeated by a girl (I'll blame it on my toe ), but at least I didn't miss from 4 yards with a stuffed Yoda in goal

Well done Meeka...at least you bowl better then little Dave can

Cricket was fun....luckily we had enough balls not to have to waste much time chasing the ones that got bashed about


Nice to meet new people, and good to see those who I have met before again. Glad so many from around FFUK could make it


Nice park is Sutton. Easy to get lost in though, since everywhere is the same
Shame I couldn't stay longer, but that is the trouble of having work and living far away


I look forward to the next big event

Hi all!
I've just registered so I could say a whopping big thank you to all for making me feel so welcome! I had a great day and really enjoyed myself. I feel the inner Star Wars fan in me has been awoken from its slumber.

Although i didn't partake in the footy (as I am a Lady) as I was having lovely chat with Verity and co (soz, forgot name already!) , I did thoroughly enjoy the superb curry in the evening!

A special thankx to Tim for his efforts, as they were,... "Most impressive!"

Don't worry Phill, I did my beached whale impression when Jon bowled me over. My low flying dinner plate seem to be quite collectible, the speed he went after it

What a great meet, I really enjoyed myself, glad lots of people were there, and just thanks for coming Shame about ReconJon having to be sacked ( Aragorn would be gutted, then again the position should be Ranger of the North ), and my map didn't really help lol. Blackroot wasn't so hot

But a great two days, and two curries. Tay At least you have tried one now I guess. Sorry tho.

Now for the pic Lil'Dave got, Obi-Wan as Gandalf and me reprising my role as Gimli I guess (you'd have to be on the York walls to appreciate that more, but I did a great impression of Gimli on the walls at Helm's Deep in Two Towers, can't help being Wicket sized, my growth gene refuses to work with me)
