I'm waiting for the Half-Life 2 Episode II expansion, which I hear will be out in September.
Hopefully it will provide answers, which Episode I didn't do.

Gears of War never really impressed me. Yes, it looks nice, but just an updated visuals of everything we have seen before in games. The single player seemed a bit boring, while the multiplayer was just poor. The Co-op was the only feature that held my interest, and made the game slightly more enjoyable. I would of given it 6 or 7 at a push, out of 10.

The game I am most looking forward to is Halo, but that is only because I loved Halo multiplayer. But with Bioshock out on Friday, and after the brilliance of the demo, and the unbelievable praise it is getting in the gaming world, that has got me very excited.

I downloaded the teaser trailer music, I love Halo [face_blush]

Has anyone seen the trailer with the kids talking about the stars? I think it may be the Master Chief as a child :)

I bought Phoenix Wright earlier this year, it was finally dispatched to my Uni address yesterday. Unfortunately I don't live there at the moment so I'll have to wait until October before I can get as they can't forward it to me. :(

I'm not a Halo player myself. Very few FPS have any appeal for me.

Currently playing FF6 for GBA. Really want to get into RPGs more, but not sure how to go about it. Same with online gaming, but I'm worried I wouldn't play the game enough to make the subscription worth it.
Plus Oblivion takes up enough time as it is. I've had it for almost a year now and still haven't completed it. This is due to my restarting it a few times(learning curve), and also just simply because I want to do my own thing in the game first.

And then there's Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, Resident Evil 4, Trauma Center on DS........

I really should stop playing so many games at once.

For RPG's, you can't go wrong with the PS1 Final Fantasy games (7, 8 and 9). So, so good. As for online gaming, get Guild Wars. Awesome game but no subscription!

For RPGs you should get the GBA releases of the FF games, although you might want to leave FFIV until it's rereleased on the DS.

If you want a mmorpg to play, then Guild Wars would be a good place to start. A lot of people on these boards play and there's a thread if you need help in the video games board.

    Galaxies????

    Good god no.

Free play all the way. Guild Wars wins all hands down.

I have major issues with paying for a game then having to pay to play it.

There is no such thing as a free game anymore unless it's Calvin Ball...

There are quite a few completely free MMORPGs, I've never actually played any of them so I can't say how good they are.

This is true. I've messed around a bit on 9Dragons, which is quite fun. Martial arts with a bit of magic. There's also Perfect World which will be great when they translate it into English. :D Huge selection of options for individualising your character.

There are lots of other ones, but most of them look or play horribly.

Seeing as this is gaming thread. I went to the Namco center in London today with my family, we have a friend who works there who can hack into the arcade machines and give us a load of credit :p

I got to play time crisis 4 without ever paying a penny and a few other arcade games too. It was great :) :p

    ++++++++++ PSP News ++++++++++

Finally! Yes finally, European PSPs will be seeing the GPS unit sold over here. The wait isn't quite over yet but January/February next year, we'll have it stuck on the top of the PSP unit. Sony have not only announced that, but also three new services to go along with GPS, and the already out "Go!Cam" (which I got the other weekend and have been messing around with - quite good :D )
    -

    1) Go! Messenger - chat via your PSP with friends, can use the camera along with it. It works via a deal done between Sony and BT.
    2) Go! Explore - turns your PSP into a portable GPS system.
    3) Sony has announced a deal with SKY to offer a video download service in the UK.

    Check here for more.

In other news - Killzone Liberation multiplayer online is cool, and waiting for the PSP only God of War game ;)
Oh yeah, PSP gets the only SW Battlefront game out this year - SW Battlefront Renegade Squadron, with for the first time customisable characters for online multiplayer play.
