    People do say that I have certain psychic/shaman/witch abilities...so, I'll take that as a compliment. ;)

    Sorry, I just read your sentence as "shaman sandwich"...which means culinary magic, I suppose? :p

    That would be a sandwich shaman. A shaman sandwich, on the other hand, would be... I really don't want to say it, except that it would not be good for Logray. :p 8-}

    Not a jcgoble3 crack!fic this time, that's for sure. I've thought about this, and I don't see any way I could do it without resorting to cannibalism, which I refuse to write. [face_sick]

    But it's still hilarious to think about. [face_laugh]

    I can actually see it as a part of the parody of one of my current longfics, together with the mozzarella thing that happened somewhere in the pet peeves thread or the YKYAFFWW thread. The only caveat will be that one will have to know some of the original story to find it funny.

    And nope, no cannibalism in either the actual fic or the parody, despite that Logray mozzarella moon sandwich.

    Couldn't the Logray mozarella moon sandwich actually *be* called a shaman sandwich...from a certain point of view? (Hey, it was my misread, I wasn't advocating cannibalism).

    It was cool until you took it! :p

    I borrowed my reasons from The Pretender, anyways, so it's probably luckier for you :p

    For me, it dates back to my days in Cub Scouts. I won the pack's Pinewood Derby three years in a row, and every time I was assigned car number 8. I've referred to it as my lucky number ever since. :p

    Let's try. Number 2 please.

    Just a question: I can write in English, but is French allowed? :p

    Not specific to the challenge, but in general we ask that you don't post entire fanfics in a language other than English because the mods need to be able to read it too. :) A few sentences or a paragraph we can probably use Google Translate, but it doesn't work all that well in general, much less for something longer.

    What a brilliant question! I always assumed we were supposed to write in English 8-} But if I could write in French, that would be awesome.

    Oh. Blast :p

    yahiko From a fellow non-native speaker, I can tell you that writing in English is an interesting challenge in and of itself :) In any case there are enough French speakers here to lend a helping hand if you need help translating bits and pieces -- not that I think you'll need it anyway.

    mavjade Out of curiosity, would a bilingual fic be okay? (meaning, a foreign-language fic posted together with its translation in English).

    Nyota's Heart I'll ask you to pick a number for me on 01 January. I have the title list, so picking one now means that I know my title before everyone else, and that would be cheating :p

    To me, English was never a problem, apart from constantly missing articles (Slavic languages don't have them) and getting the tense combos right. And when you look around, you'll see native speakers making mistakes, too...sometimes even worse than ours. Nobody is perfect and that's the beauty of it. :)

    I've always wanted to write a multi-chapter bilingual fic in this manner:
    Chapter 1 (English) -> Chapter 1 (Japanese) -> Ch2 E -> Ch2 J -> and so on.

    Maybe I'll try it this time and see how it turns out. [face_curious]
