I beat the game for the first time a few days ago, and yeah, the one-winged angel boss absolutely kicked my ass for a few hours. I finished it at 1AM and had to stuff my fist in my mouth so I wouldn't start cheering.

 

Congrats! I never did beat it, I had to give up

I just don't trust any of it to stick any more. FFXV's development cycle proved they won't even keep material they make public - and while that's healthy for development, it's a real mood killer on new information.

Also, lest we forget, this franchise has a main character whose name was originally translated as Butts.

 

I hope you've beat him by now, but if you haven't I don't think there is any harm in looking up what you should equip weapon wise, materia wise, etc. Maybe you need to level up more or get some ultimate weapons. My hope for you is to beat the game and experience the end game cinematic...

 

The article mentions two brothers and a girl as the main protagonists. What am I missing here?

 

Just as a note, the actual teaser website has slightly more information on the six main nations and three main characters than that link has. All of this sounds really neat, but having a bunch of monarchical and republican nation states in a fantasy-heavy, old European-inspired world is completely up my alley, so I'm biased.

 

Nah never did beat him. I did look up what would help and basically I would have had to play the whole game differently So I am not bothering, I just watched the ending cutscene.

Yeah, his bio indicates he's about 10 years old around this point in the story. It used to be pretty common for young boys in Europe to wear dresses and gowns until they were older, so although he's a bit older than what I'm under the impression would have been the usual age to start wearing pants, it has an historical precedent.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm by no means an expert on archaic European fashion.

 

It’s likely the designer was aware that clothing was more unisex for children in some cultures back in The Day (TM) and then rolled with it because they liked the outfit they came up with. Don’t bother getting hung up on historicity or the K-pop star with a sword on the left will actually drive you to madness.

To say nothing of the inevitable giant rideable chickens.

 

Don't tell me they didn't actually have those back in the day. What's next, Noah didn't actually ride dinosaurs?

 

Honestly I’m just grateful the three characters on display have a mere three belts visible amongst them. Now, admittedly, they’re all on the same character...

 

I'm just disappointed that they don't have egregious zippers all over everything. I don't see a single zipper in that artwork and, now, I hate it.

 

If you say so. Frankly if it wasn't for the shorter hair cut, I wonder if anyone would be able to tell the difference. Imagine if the girl on the right was wearing pants!
