Well Stackpole has said Tycho was in the A Wing behind Wedge when Wedge leaves the second Death Star so he should still exsist.
But should disney really copy everything from the old EU? I would much prefer them to create their own characters and storylines.
As you said they would change things and make characters different, as the Disneyverse has a different tone from the old EU.

But why there are no new books with them there are still Rouge Squadron Fanfics which are written.

Back from game night. One of the other players had almost literally gotten to the game straight off of a plane ride back from Disney World. He promptly fell asleep halfway through the game and had to go home. I have to give him a ton of credit, though, because I probably wouldn't have even attempted it.

Well, at least Old Republic is going... So far, since 2014, that's been the only new Legends material that's been released.

As for Tycho, he was completely made up for X-wing and "assigned" a random fighter in the movie. That may be changed, just like how Keyan Farlander (guy in my current avatar) was replaced by that lady pilot from Princess Leia in the surviving Y-wing of the Death Star assault.

That's what's really ticking me off about Disney. I don't see Kylo Ren, I see Darth Caedus cosplaying Darth Revan. I don't see Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor, I see a gender flipped Kyle Katarn and Jan Ors. Etc...

I look at Jyn and Cassian as this universe's Kyle and Jan. Cassian is from Fest, which is a location in the video game that introduced Kyle Katarn. I don't mind it at all. I love R1 enough to see it 5 times so far. TFA I haven't seen 5 times yet. Three, maybe.

Okay, I've had enough sleep now (Mistress_Renata I wish that my stamina extended to the next day too!) and I'm back.

Ewok Poet Two questions and a comment about gibanica.

When you say to beat the egg whites separately, does that mean until frothy or until stiff?

Also, when you say "line the pan with phyllo dough", do you mean a single sheet of phyllo?

And my comment: I find that clotted cream makes an adequate substitute for kaymak, what do you think?

    ---------------

Re: SW men, I have a soft spot for grumpy old dudes, which is why I liked Baze so much in Rogue One (and I also thought that older Han in TFA was great!) I'm happy to see Ghent get some love, he's such a cool nerd [face_love] Generally I'd say that Karrde's crew had a few of these socially awkward, endearing characters. But my absolute crush in SW since I first saw TESB back in 1980 was and still is Artoo-Deetoo. I'd marry him in a heartbeat.

Okay. Sorry for not putting any input on the conversation (basically my feelings towards the wipe of the EU is: I will miss so many wonderful characters, but it needed to be done. The stories had kinda nosedived and showed no signs of improving. Disney needed the room to tell completely new stories - for good or for bad - and a total wipe really only made sense, but I'm glad they are drawing some old characters back into the fold).

Buuuuut. The reason why I am here is, I need to tell Chyntuck I am sorry. I tisk tisked you last night, and yet I just crawled in the door just before 1:30 am. I went out for drinks with bridezilla and co after their hike. It devolved into madness and fisticuffs. And I had to 'carry' a very drunk bridezilla on my lap to the cab. I drank enough to enjoy the mayhem, but not enough to be a part of it. I have reclaimed the title of stupid university student!

I never had clotted cream, so no idea.

Beat until frothy. Like, 2-3 minutes is enough, just to break them.

If you have thicker phyllo, definitely just one. We have it both thick and thin and we use only thick for gibanica.

    Mom says good luck. :)

    ...

Meanwhile, here in Belgrade... air emergency sirens, a large part of the city cleared and a huge bomb from the "helpful" Allies' bombardment at the end of World War II is detonated. I wanted to bike, but the bike track was closed.

In that case, you can keep the title. I have to clean my house and finish up an essay and I'll probably be in bed by like 9:30.

I just googled Belgrade and found an English news story. That's really interesting that they still have to do controlled detonations.

So, I was looking for something the other day and I ended up finding my 4th gen iPod nano from around 2008 (I would have used it when I was about 15/16/17). I was at the dollar store yesterday and found the old style of charging cord so I picked one up. So I plugged the thing in AND OH GOD THE TEENAGE ANGST! [face_rofl] Just downright hillarious how ALL THE SONGS ARE JUST DEPRESSING.

It also contains all the LOTF audiobooks, Rise of Darth Vader, and the TTT audiobooks from the 1990s (how I got them, I don't know).

Playing The Old Republic with my smuggler character and just had to take this screenshot for a somewhat obvious reason...

Yes, she's inadvertently named after the appliance company... If I had the in-game currency to change the name, I would.

I bought a subscription card with Christmas money and immediately took my first PC--a Jedi Guardian--through all the expansions. I don't think I'll take her through them, though, at least not the last two ones.

I got annoye by the forced tutorial for Knights of the Eternal Throne. I yelled at customer service because I couldn't turn the tutorial off and they took three weeks to get back to me. Like, I have several level 65 toons. I know how to do this, thanks.

I'm standing for the decision to buy the new Battlefront or not.
Has anyone of you played it?

I haven't played it, but they have the PC version for $20. More than likely you'll easily get that out of it. Though no single player campaign can easily be a dealbreaker.

My natural sleep schedule is going to bed around 2am or so and getting up around 10am. This is kinda where I am right now because I only work a few days a week and my classes are all online so I can do those at any time. However, it is a problem on my work days because I can't get to sleep until late and have to wake up at 5:30.

We had people over tonight to watch the Superbowl and now I'm feeling very introvert-y and want to hide in a cocoon. On the plus side, we have a lot of left over food so we won't have to cook tomorrow.

Oh, and Ewok Poet- We saw our neighbor today and she does know a place to get kaymak here. :D

For some reason, I've never played SW:TOR. I played MMORPGs back in high school. But it's probably a good thing I never got into it.

My personal sleep scheduled normally defaults to the 10am to 2am, though I'm currently not doing too badly with my 8:30 am class (though last week I just did not want to go one morning). My one fear about doing my Master's online is just becoming a total shut in with just the weirdest sleep schedule.

it really isn't that great of a game honestly Briannakin. i gave it a whirl for a few months... and decisions are ultimately pointless, the gameplay gets stupid levels of repetitive, and none of the stories seem particularly good. certainly none on par with KOTOR 1 or 2. so you aren't missing much of anything other than a massive grindfest that just got more grindy with the last update.
