ST Finn's romantic future is with... who?

Hope springs eternal.

I, for one, would have no issues with Finn turning out to be Force Sensitive by films end. Then, four years later they announce the Disney + series that will show the rebuilding of the galaxy at large. Poe and Rose work on rebuilding the government, Rey works on Rebuilding the Jedi Order and Finn is out using his new powers and training to bring Justice to worlds that are terrorized by the unjust.

 

That's what I'm thinking. They've utterly botched any chance of having a decent central romance, particularly Rian did. He nuked it from orbit and laughed at the smoldering ashes he left JJ to deal with.

 

I haven't been able to find it again, but I do recall RJ mentioning in an interview that he left a mess at the end of TLJ for the next person to sort out. Apparently he was being modest that day.

 

It's not over until those final credits roll. If people can fight for an obviously dead Reylo, then I can gear up and go to war for FS Finn.

 

I actually love a force senstive Finn that might not be a jedi, He might just be this pilot with the force that helps him around. And if joins the jedi. next trilogy old jedi Finn looking like Mace windu with a purple lightsaber.

I just noticed that Rey has caught up to Rose in the poll. They're now tied for first lol.

 

I don’t think they’re going for a central romance.

If they were, we would have gotten it in TLJ.

But that doesn’t mean no romance whatsoever.

Went back and read both the TFA novel and the junior TFA novel and I feel they set up a eventual romantic Finn/Rey hard, it's a shame that they probably won't go that route.

 

I'd be pretty pleased if Finn was simply unattached romantically. I'd love to see that explored in comics and literature after the film saga concludes.

If it’s what JJ intended, I can’t see why he wouldn’t follow-through. It’s not like Rey’s and Finn’s reunion the end of TLJ wasn’t loving and highly emotional.

 

Yeah, plus the first act of TLJ shows Finn’s preoccupation with reuniting with Rey, and in the second act you have Rey’s “Tell Finn...” to Chewie. TRoS can have a romance between Finn and Rey that is easily backed up by TFA and subtly reinforced by TLJ. In retrospect when watched as a whole it would actually look like one of the stronger continuous threads through the ST.

Did Rose draw that picture of Rey? Coupled with the text, it kind of makes her look like a crazy stalker (just kidding, sort of).

 

Maybe the real romantic interest...was the friends Finn made along the way?

 

You joke but so far Finn has legit potential love interests in Rey, Poe, and Rose. The man has charisma though, I get it.

 

I only see him with Rey and I know it will never happen.

 

Why not?

 

I wouldn't say never happen just that the chances of it happening aren't that great. The constant mention of friendship/family whenever romance is brought up by the cast and recent seemingly credible leaks make it seem like there's no real romantic stuff happening regardless of the pairing.
