Speaking of concept art making it's way into other sources, I still remember how shocked I was when this ROTJ concept art for an MC80 reappeared a decade later as the MC90 in Dark Empire:

I love it when folks mine concept art for new warships. I keep hoping this Nebbie concept art will be used for the Starhawk!

The front of that art seems like it morphed into the bulk cruiser.

I love it but it's a bit too similar to the Nebulon visually. Remember this one instead? This would go way better as the Starhawk.

Oh man that's great. I agree that the Starhawk should look more distinct from the Nebulon.

The hatchet-shape front end, which is so far the only real descriptor I've seen, makes it seem similar to a Nebulon in general shape, but the specifics should be vastly different. The same way Tholian Webspinners and Star Destroyers are both Space Triangles, but you could hardly say one is derivative of the other.

One thing I noticed in a reread of the classic Marvel Star Wars series (the one ending with the Tof/Nagai war) - in a lot of images (including the comic adaptation of the RoTJ movie), the Mon Cal cruisers have sharp-pointed bows and visible bridge windows above those bows - looking very much like the MC-85 Raddus.

Maybe both were drawing from the same concept art?

Hmm, looks like that design also found its way into Homeworld:

I wonder if they'll ever do something about those background rebel ships in ESB and ROTJ.

Or have other escorts and have the Bunkerbuster act as a kind of super-heavy bomber itself.

Man, I really like the mental image of a group of Starfortresses and Bunkerbuster doing a bombing run on some giant imperial space fortress near the end of the GCW - something like the battles of Solomon and A Boa Qu in Gundam, specifically the Public Class bombing runs:

I definitely wish we saw the Bunkerbuster corvette in action. There was alot of thought that went into it's design and those big bombs it carries. It was designed between Endor and Jakku, so it definitely saw action in the final phases of the Galactic Civil War.

It does a lot of action in BF2 space battles. It flies around a Resurgent SD in the Unknown Regions map, and 3 of them patrol the D'Qar evacuation map, with all of their guns shooting at TIEs.

I was referring to it using it's heavy ordnance. It's interesting that the New Republic commissioned both the CEC Bunkerbuster and the MG-100 Starfortress between Endor and Jakku. I suspect they were heavily used against Imperial forces that were dug in on worlds. These are two specialized craft that were quickly produced for a specific military need. I want to know more about that.

I haven't read the guides so I could be wrong, but I'm willing to guess the Bunkerbuster is a modular vessel, much like the older Pelta. At the present it looks like a skeleton. I'd be down for a fully-filled out Bunkerbuster.
    EDIT: Here's what I mean...

Hey SpecForce could you try editing the Bunkerbuster image such that the wing pods are flush with the main hull, as if they retracted inwards on the pylons by sliding or folding?

The Free Virgillia-class Bunkerbuster is my new favorite ship, I love the bare bones look of it!

Were the Acclamators and Venators also modular vessels? Seems like they're always depicted as "do-everything" ships, from being battlecruisers to starfighter carriers to troop transports...

They look like proto-TIE Bombers perhaps? Maybe some sort of weapons pod? Looks a little bit too small to be a crewed sidecar. There were some good shots of a space-train and some hovercars as well.

If that's the predecessor to the TIE Bomber, good on them for coming up with a stop-gap considering that I've never liked Imperial-class Star Destroyers or TIE/ln fighters joining the Imperial Navy any time less than 5 years after the Clone Wars.

ISDs were said to start production around the end of the Clone Wars, but the Tarkin novel says TIEs weren't very widespread or accessible - even to him, a Grand Moff - 5 years after ROTS. Though to be fair, Corellia is a core world, so it stands to reason if they're appearing early, it'd be close to where they're first tested and manufactured, whereas Tarkin spends most of his time around IT'S AN UGLY PLANET; A BUG PLANET!

I think they're more multi-purpose than actually modular. One other modular ship that is criminally underrepresented is the Modular Taskforce Cruiser. It's just so beautiful! All the different modules. All the different possibilities. I'd like to see one as a dedicated troop lander. From what I remember the only ship we really see doing this is the Acclamator. I'd like more instances of troops landing in large numbers from cruisers.
