It has to be more than a day. Hera is already at the temple when Jyn is taken to Yavin IV, before anyone in the Rebellion even has any plans relating to Scarif.

IIRC, the idea is that between the liberation of Lothal and Scarif is only a matter of weeks. Basically, the reasoning being that once the Death Star is destroyed and Palpatine & Vader learn of Luke, they focus their attention there. Sure, the Imperial Navy still had more than the means to retake Lothal, but it's not deemed worth it.

I'll add- that whole region of the Outer Rim is a HOTBED of Alliance support. Mon Cala, Lothal, Garel, Dornea, New Alderaan, Sanctuary, Telaris - all are neighbors, astronomically speaking. I suspect that the Empire was content cordoning off the region and focusing it's efforts in other parts of the Galaxy.

Nick brings up a good point, this was another thing the Rebels crew talked about in the Recon, that Lothal is totally devoid of anything of value to the Empire by that time. They've already gutted the planet of its resources, so with the destruction of Imperial military manufacturing and bureaucracy on the planet, there's no pressing need to go back there, except as a punitive expedition. But as we all know,
revenge is a dish best served cold.

In my mind, once the Death Star was operational and Chandrila & Mon Cala were reduced to rubble, Lothal would have been next. Just because.

Well, if you've gone all the way to Mon Cala you're going to want to make the most of your trip to the neighbourhood and maybe stop by a restaurant, check out that new outlet store and blow up a few nearby planets.

Well that's part of the reason I thought they never returned forces to Lothal, it's on our list to destroy post Alderaan. Why send military forces if you're going to destroy it all in due time?

From my own Military experience I can say that the amount of civilian workers in Military installations generally exceedes If not doubles that of the military members. Of course the Empire could reduce that with droids.

I kinda want the Imperial Navy to treat Lothal as a place not superstition and fear, particularly because few people probably know all the details of what happened there. Before the Rebels massacred the entire garrison, the planet itself had devoured a member of the Imperial court and his escorts, attacked stormtroopers with giant, extinct wolves, then seemingly summoned a pod of space whales that destroyed an entire fleet and jumped a Star Destroyer into the beyond from inside the atmosphere. Sailors can be superstitious, and that all sounds like a lot of NOPE to anyone facing being stationed there.

I imagine sort of part of a and part of b. The Stormtrooper corps are all ready and raring to go, ready to get revenge, while the Imperial Navy is just like "No. Nuh uh. Not happening."

Bit late to the party I'm afraid, but I really hope we get some more details on it. Maybe a cross-section in the Solo Visual Dictionary?

Also I looked through all experimental TIEs I could find. Didn't find a match so it seems to be original. Though it's nagging on me because I swear I've seen the design somewhere before.

You probably saw it in the first Solo trailer that dropped some months back.

New trailer also had some interesting footage of star destroyers being constructed.

Also, this poster has some interesting looking corvettes:

Looks like two distinct corvette models.

The one on the ledge does look a little different from the two in the air - but they all look like "CR-90 uglies" - using the CR-90 chassis as a basis.

In military terms, it'd just be different models.

I do wish they'd go more creative with CEC models a la the DP20 gunship or Ninka bunkerbuster or Pelta frigate or Hammerhead Corvette instead of just cloning a CR90 and calling it a day. It's nice and all but I want a little more variety.

I'm pretty there were similar corellian tugs in the "Art of The Force Awakens" book.

I ADORE those CR90 variants. I posted some shots on Twitter last night, they totally caught me by surprise. CEC is the Chevy or Ford of the GFFA. I want all kinds of "work truck" variants of the corvette. Maybe as vessels tied to the shipyards.

Are we sure they are corvette size and not light freighter size??

The construction of the ISD's looked amazing. Took me a few viewings to realize in the foreground there is that bridge tower being hauled up.

Where in the Legends continuity were we first introduced to Star Destroyers being space-only vessels? Clearly in the new canon that is totally out the window, considering Rogue One, Battlefront 2, and now Solo all give us them in-atmosphere.

Rebels also had ISDs in atmosphere no prob, and that's excluding the Acclamators and Venators from the prequels and TCW.
