I don't know of any specific vegetarian resturants, but many places have vegetarian items on the menu...there's probably a website someplace that lists such things.

For the vegetarians - worst case scenario Burger Kings have black bean burger substitutes for their hamburgers if you can't find anywhere else to go!

I recomend a place Buca Di Bepo, if you like Italian food they'll hook you up, and its really good, they got one back in Chicago.

Which of these places that are being recomended are within a couple blocks of the con center?

Basically during the day I am not going to have any transportation, I'll be walking to wherever I eat. I would like to try some local cuisine though, but only if it's in walking distance.

    Okay,
    So,
    Seattle is known for coffee
Philly is known for cheese steaks sandwiches
Boston is known for it?s baked beans

What is Indy known for (food and beverage wise?)

isn't white castle where you get the tiny little burgers and their ad said "buy 'em by the bag"?

we had one in my town (Everett, WA) once back in the late 80's or early 90's but it didn't take off and they closed it
I loved those tiny little burgers!

That would be them. There aren't any here in Nebraska either. Haven't for at 30 years from what I'm told.

Never been to a White Castle, but I have been to Krystal, which is the same concept. Meh, I never liked that stuff myself. I don't see the big deal, except now it's in the title of a movie so somehow that makes them cool. :p

I'm hoping for Steak and Shake and PF Chang's at least. Can anyone tell me how far they are from the con center?

I don't know about S&S, but PF Chang's is literally right around the corner. My friends and I walked out of the convention center around lunch time, ate, and walked right back. It's literally one block away. :)

Steaks and Shakes is 1-2 blocks east of the Con. Very close to the Hampton Inn and Hard Rock Cafe.

PF Chang's is fine Chinese food in a fancier environment.

First of all its "Buy them by the SACK"!!

White Castle within walking distance to the convention center, I may just eat Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner there!!! The burgers are called slider cause they slide right through you if you know what I mean. We started calling the cheese burgers sliders with brakeswhich led to the Jalepano Cheese Burgers being sliders with air brakes. Please tell me they have the Jalepano Burgers in Indy!! The one thing lacking in Vegas is the WC!

How about a place with great bagels? I have a backpack with a cooler, and my plan is to get some bagels and fruit along with some water to get me through the day.

Indy/Indiana isn't really known for anything in particular...though Steak N' Shake was founding in the state, so I guess that's the best thing. That, and about 500 different recipes for corn.

I do know that when Shaquille O'Neil is in town to play the Pacers he frequently eats at Steak N' Shake.

    So, I guess a steakburger with a milkshake from S 'N S would be what I'd recommend.

If the Buca Di Bepo in Indy is as good as the one in Austin, then I'd definitely suggest checking that place out. I'm sure me and the hubby will go to the Indy one at least once during our stay.

The white castle is about 4 blocks south of the convention center.

And yeah, last time I checked we had the jalapeno sliders. :)
