Well, its a very difficult decision to make
Terry was hanging on the Goalkeeper and stopped him jumping to catch the ball

In a "non-contact sport" such as football this is a foul.

What do you mean "non Contact?"
Its virtually impossible to take the ball of someone without touching them

While what you say is correct, by strict definition Football is "non-contact" - ok some level of contact is required, but if too much contact is made by one person against another its a foul. Examples of "contact" sport are Rugby, Boxing and what not.

    Holland lost :_|

I would like to see the home nation win
They would be the first since France in 1984

So it's Greece-Portugal final then. Should be an interesting match to say the least!

    It will indeed be interesting
Considering Greece have never won a major tournanment match before this contest, let alone a final.

I think home support might swing it for the Portu-geezers

I can appreciate what your saying Pitchie, but I think both teams will be much more nervous in the final - probably Portugal more so.

Mind you as this tournament has shown us - expect the unexpected!

    Very true
I'm annoyed they won't have a 3rd place play off game

You're right, I've just seen chart of the fixtures and there isn't a 3/4 place play-off. Strange.

What a great Final, and an interesting result.
This will do wonders for Greek football considering they'd never even won a major game before getting to the tournament.

A question that must now be asked is where do the "bigger" footballing nations go from here. Minnows like Greece have gone out with a game plan and taken on all comers. The likes of France, Italy, Germany, Spain and ourselves must take note.

Euro 2004 is one of two stories - the great tale of the underdog, or the failure of the giants.

It could be a great film.

The main problem with the big countries is that they have rather old players and never bring young ones in.

France have Zidane & Viera & Petit & Makalele. If they were to retire then the team would be sunk.

Italy have old players like Totti, Vieri, Baggio, Del Piero etc.
If they retired then the team is buggered

Holland's main problem is not their lack of good players, but their ability to get on.
They had to play a 4 3 3 formation cos V Nistlerooy & P Kluivert couldn't get on well together.
And thsi odd formation cost them.

England again don't get enough young players. Rooney alone is not enough.
And we lack top class goalkeepers

Yuo know the weird thing about this year's Euro 2004? The first match played was Portugal Vs. Greece and it was 1-0 to Greece. The final match played was Portugal Vs. Greece and it was 1-0 to Greece! Strange, Eh?

Sorry to correct you, but the opening game between Greece and Portugal was 2-1 to Greece.

Nearly I suppose with Greece still winning by 1 goal!
