I refuse to believe that this alleged upgrade is ever going to actually get done until it is actually complete. Bah Humbug and all of that.

Ha! I keep telling people that this is the time of the year when upgrades, optimisation, clean-ups and similar things make most sense. Now I have solid proof.

But, on the serious side, how long do you think this is going to last, given the size of the database (can't even imagine), whether it needs mass search and replace type of stuff (e.g. character conversion, updating BBCode) and possible timeouts during the process...plus the said testing?

Asking because I don't do the 25th December Christmas, but the 07th January one, so I don't want to be bored when I *want* distractions from work stuff....and my own server maintenance duties.

 

Those are precisely the droids I was looking for, re: fixing stuff on the go. Given how many of us are there and the fact that the film is still fresh, that's great to know. Thanks. And shout if you ever need help from somebody who broke Invision many times.
